Is the shop entirely on the gamepad, or do you get nice big images on the TV? It seems silly to click on a product and just get a single line with the title and icon, and have to click 'more details' - why not just immediately bring up the info page for it? Just more clicks for no reason.
I can appreciate how navigating and searching should be better on a tablet, but that looks a bit like a big 3DS shop and I find that clunky.
He's not upset. It's just his personality. He gets worked up a bit. That and the layout is unfamiliar. The pad is fine he said if you know the layout.
He said he doesn't know his shit, which I think translates into not accustomed to the pad just yet. Something about the reload button or something.

Reload in COD is the left button out of the four. I could see with the Wii U controllers and their different button layout would take a little bit to learn. It would make the reload button the farthest from your hand, but it'll probably be fine.
So from what I've heard, due to the fact the picture is upscaled to 1080p, VC games are unable to be put into 4:3 on some TVs (both of my TVs won't let me set HD content to 4:3). Why can't they just put it into 4:3 automatically like the PS3 does to PS1 games. As someone with a huge collection of VC games, I'm kind if pissed.

Seems like it, NSMBU had an update but I was able to start the game anyway. I got a notification that the update had downloaded a little later.
so in totally unrelated news I was trying to sleep and it's 4:30 here and my brother has some friends over playing beer pong. Well one of his friends was so drunk he came into my room thinking it was the bathroom and peed on the floor. Was going to check out Target at 8:00 AM when I woke up but I guess sleep just isnt going to happen tonight lol.

It was funny the first time since there wasn't one match. There is literally a handful of games going. Maybe 10 or 20 at this point since some west coasters have setup their system by now.

Decided to check my local Wallyword at 11:30 to see if they have any extra black systems (I have a white system coming in from Target online Wednesday but I wanted a deluxe and I wanted to play NOW!) . Wasnt expecting to walk out with a system but when I showed up there was nobody there,I wandered around and nobody working there new what was going on regarding the midnight launch.
Eventually a family who preordered showed up and another guy as well and started a line at layaway so I got in behind them. Waited about 45 minutes (3 more people showed up behind me) till a little after midnight and at first the manager couldn't find the systems. Of course the family in front freaked out a bit but he disappeared into the back and 20 minutes later he found the rack of games and Wii U's and rolled out the cart. The family preordered so that went smoothly but when I got to the register there was a ton of confusion on the part of the Walmart employees,they werent sure if they were allowed to sell systems to non preorder people. The lady eventually called the shift manager (I thought I was screwed) and she wasnt sure either. She asked the people behind me if they had preordered,one guy did and the rest were there for games only (they got there Wii at another Walmart but no games). Seeing that nobody else there was buying a system she said,and I quote, "fuck it,the man has the money here and the first shift didnt tell us anything about this so sell him his system" and I happily paid for the deluxe system and Mario. YEA!! I never luck out with stuff like this!!
I hope these are extras and not the layaway systems though,otherwise there are gonna be some pissed off people at Walmart tomorrow!! I called my friend and woke him up to get his ass down there because he had a deluxe system preordered at the same store. They had about 4 deluxe systems and 12 white ones.

I guess the idea is that Wii mode always sent out 4:3 content to full screen. Which is fine, because on TVs such as Sony, you could toggle the content to 4:3 adding black bars on the side.
But now this Wii mode is being recreated identically..... But upscaled to 1080! And certain TVs such as Sony's, it doesn't let you toggle the 4:3 mode on HD resolutions.
Theory: if you can toggle the Wii U to sub-HD resolutions in settings, you can set your TV to 4:3. And certainly, if you use old analog cables (like composite/s-video), then you can switch to 4:3.

What resolution is the OS running at?

Well, been playing AC3 for about an hour and a half or so. Just got to Boston and ran around there for a bit.
Visually, I don't have much to compare it to as I haven't played any other version, but it looks alright. Nothing stunning, but not offensive. It is aliased as hell, and the shadows are really jagged. But I think that's the case with the other console versions as well. Performance wise I can't say a whole lot, since I'm a terrible judge of framerate. But it seemed to run fine most of the time, if a bit inconsistent. Lots of pop in though, especially while running around in Boston. Ultimately, I believe it's pretty much in line with the other consoles from what I've heard, but I'm sure Digital Foundry and Lens of Truth will pick it apart.
I didn't really mess around with gamepad features, like off TV play, but they do show cutscenes on the gamepad even if you're playing on the TV, and it looks pretty good on the small screen. Helps with the aliasing a bit. No discernible latency either.
Anyway, it's 4am now. Off to bed. Will pick up Mario and Blops 2 tomorrow, and possibly ZombiU and/or Ninja Gaiden 3.

What happens when you click on a friend on the friend list, what options does it give can you view anything?.
Oh wow, just looked at the Fry's ad. That's the WORST bundle situation I've seen: get a black Wii U with Nintendoland, NSMBU, and some third party Wii Remote/Nunchuk pair for $449.94... Or get the basic with the same stuff (including Nintendoland) for the same price! Fuck, it's not a color difference, the White one is actively inferior.
No good deals either, but they've been anemic there as of late. We were lucky with NSMB2 and Paper Mario Sticker Star to be honest.

It has a significantly stronger GPU than PS3/360, and the PS3 renders its OS in native 1080p. I'd wager native here too.
I guess no one knows at this point until tech people get into it, but it appears to be native 1080p
