I think people need to take a good long watch/listen to this. I'm tired of people acting like they aren't on shit and idolizing those who are on shit acting like they aren't on shit. You can't do the shit they do and you won't get the results they get unless you get on gear too.

This video says everything I've been thinking about this recent CT Fletcher bullshit going on. I've gone from liking the man to absolutely despising him over the last few months.

Also I always "knew" that "veiny" look was a tell tale sign of gear (legal or otherwise), it's good to hear this guy say the same thing.

This is this man in his prime.

Interesting stuff. In the end, you gotta do you and these vids are great because it helps keep things in perspective.

On that note, did you know that the Hodge Twins are 38? That is insane.

For real? I've barely watched any of their stuff but going by their personalities I thought they were like, 20.

Don't hate me :(!

Although I just think his videos are hilarious.

I'll watch that video with my dinner tonight

Nah, man I don't I just can't stand that man. The message he is trying to "tell" or the persona he's trying to sell.

I would have guessed around my age (32, 33 in december). So i'd not have been far off.

There's more to it than his language and personality. It's that he's prepetuating the lie of what normal natural lifters look like. The shit is so skewed people have crazy aspiration of how they should look. Shit some people even take shit, maybe a pro-hormone, maybe Dbol, maybe harder shit and still lie about it. I'd wager there's even 1 or two people here (or more) who are on shit (or have been on shit at one time) and lie about it.

The problem is so ingrained in this "sport" both powerlifting and bodybuilding that in powerlifting the only distinction between amateur and pro is that amateur is drug tested (and even that's a joke) and pro is completely untested.

For the record I've never taken anything. Not even a pro-hormone. Not that I look like I take shit, clearly I don't. I've thought about it. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't but I doubt I ever would. I would never be able to shake the feeling that I was cheating even though I know when I compete here in a few months I'm at an inherent disadvantage because I'm not on gear. But I'm not doing that shit for money, so fuck it.

IMO the shit needs to be completely allowed or completely banned. This shit is everywhere. If it was "completely allowed" people MIGHT stop lying their asses off about taking the shit and we would finally get somewhere with the perspective of what's what and how we "should" look. Until then, this community (not talking about fitgaf but fitness as a whole) will continue to be full of shit.

The line from Wendler has never been more true.

"You are being lied to."

I'm currently studying for the ACSM CPT exam and I'm thinking about doing a Workshop for it. I'm a little worried it might just be a review of the book though and that's it. I was kinda hoping it would be more hands-on review with practice sessions, skinfold assessments, etc. Has anyone here gone to one of these or a comparable certification workshop, who can tell me how it is?

Two Steps From Hell makes me feel like I can bench the universe, all natty too.

Invincible is prime epic lifting music.

First day of my new schedule switching deadlifts to twice a week and moving squats down to once a week. Felt good finishing at 455x5 but damn it was tough. Looked like a tomato on my last two. Thinking about maxing here soon and giving 515 a shot!

On the muscle-up front I'll be attempting 55lbs tomorrow!

Missed my chance to go to the gym today. Oh well, I'll just have my push day tomorrow morning. The gym is pretty awesome in the early morning.

Going up on the power clean, and realizing how you've improved your technique in order to rack the extra weight, is such a good feeling.

It's not about youtube...

Yeah. Testing really sucks and the tests are really easy to pass. A lot of major compounds clear the system in 24 hours.

But yeah, the cheating in tested federation blows.

If you want to take drugs, do the untested feds. Go nuts. But when you compete in the test feds with and take drugs. That's pure shittiness.

Shoulders looking 3-D as fuck now, ultimate diet 2.0 has me doing about 100000000 laterals a week. I've done 180 reps in the last two days.....

Hello,

I have 2 questions.

1) you're going to hate me for this but is there a good/recommended body weight exercise routine? as much as i'd like to i just can't make it to the gym most days right now for a variety of different reasons. i know it won't do much but i feel like i just need to be doing something.

2) can you recommend a good energy supplement? i'd like to increase my energy throughout the day but mainly i'd like to have more energy by the time i get home from work to increase the probability that i will actually exercise. i used to take fat burners when i lost a bunch of weight for these reasons and they worked GREAT except that i slept like shit and it was driving me insane. i've thought about green tea extract but results seem mixed regarding energy boost?

Yesterday, during my workout, I noticed how my right arm is always the weakest. Basically: I was on the bench, the first two series went just fine, then while I was doing the third it felt like my right arm couldn't keep up with the left one. It's really frustrating when there are only a few reps left, and when I talked to the instructor he said that's pretty strange since I'm right handed and I should talk to him if this keeps happening in the next two-three workouts.

Did anybody else experienced this?

Apart from that, the rest went fine (the routine was the same as last Thursday: Squat, Bench press, Lat pull down, Lateral raise, Crunch), I keep adding weight to every exercise and it seems like there aren't any other problems. I'm really starting to enjoy this: a few years ago I had a friend who was insufferable with everything related to gym, fitness and so on and it kinda made me think that I would never enter a gym. That was a mistake. A big one too.

Play any baseball? I am right handed as well and have a hard time matching reps with my right compared to my left. I threw my arm out a couple of times playing so I assume that is the reason.

Nope, I don't play baseball. I don't even know if my city has a baseball field and/or team, in any case in Italy baseball isn't really popular.

I think I'm starting to look skinny. BF dropping and shoulders getting narrower. Gotta just man up and endure. Going to reach that ~12% bf before mah bulk.

Alright. Log your food. You want to know the point? It gives you a very good starting point on finding out what to fix and change, and see exactly what you're slammin down each day. Whether you think it's important to do or not, it's EXTREMELY valuable for us so we can give you a good angle of attack on how to beat this.

Regarding point 2, that sounds all nice and fluffy but if you're not going to check up on YOURSELF, all of the goodwill in here is going to be worthless. You're going to get a routine, and get a plan, and it's going to be up to you and we're not going to be able to save you if you fall off the wagon. You've got to want it.

So, to-do list is to log your foods ACCURATELY (this is a tough one for many people, serving sizes are a bizzle) but LOG EVERYTHING ACCURATELY and get back with us. We can offer advice on what to get rid of, what to replace, and get you into an eating routine that won't leave you dead (at least not initially...cutting weight in the beginning is a huge mental hurdle) but we'll have you feeling better.

But it can't happen unless you log your food!

Also if you have time please get educated about all the bullshit phrases and things people say. Obviously everyone is different, but I mean things like people saying "Oh but it's NATURAL SUGAR" and then they eat 2 lbs of strawberries. That shit won't exempt you.

Log it, report it, and we'll help. But you gotta want it. We can't do it all for you so keep your expectations in check. It's ultimately all you.
Oh alright man. I'm not completely relying on you guys or expect you to do it all for me I'm not an idiot. It would just be nice to have someone go "Hey. You keeping up on those workouts. Remember that I'm pulling for you buddy!" Every once and a while. Everyone around here is always negative. "LOL you're working out? Dude stop you're shaking the building." It's always a negative comment.

I downloaded an app and ill report my food log for today. Then update again tomorrow. Seeing as what I eat varies everyday (just like everyone else I assume). Just to give you all an idea of what goes into my belly. Remember though. I already started dieting.

I'm not sure what you're talking about, as this thread is almost entirely full of people encouraging and helping each other.

If things are negative towards you, I can only assume it's because of what you're posting, but I'm too lazy to look back and see what that is,

New PB on squats for the 1+ week. 2 reps @ 120kg. Feels good, especially after being out of the gym all last week due to a fever. BBB squats all but killed me tho...

It sounds like his talking about the gym he goes to otherwise i don't see how "Dude stop you're shaking the building" would make sense when posting on an internet forum. That plus most of the posts in this thread are just people patting each other on the back and encouraging each other to work harder.

Today while doing a bit of squat form training while being filmed by a friend, we noticed that my legs are really uneven. As in, my right leg goes a lot lower than my left leg, so while my right leg is 90 degrees, my left leg is still pointing upwards.
Are my legs different lengths? I was thinking of having this checked asap.

Get a video of yourself squatting and post it on here, there are some very keen eyes in this thread that should be able to help you. If it is a strength imbalance, eventually, your weak leg will catch up. I'm not sure if it's a health risk squatting with imbalanced legs, but I would think it'd have be an insanely massive imbalance to actually cause a problem.

Alright I'll try to get one on friday then. I figured I need to really get my form in check for almost every exercise, been noticing a steady increase of balancing issues on higher weights.

For me this issue was twofold, my squat form was inappropriate in the sense that it felt "comfortable" over my body weight, but I was still transmitting a lot of load through my wrists and down into my elbows and arms. My bench setup and form was also bad, in the sense that I never kept my back arched out and would go flat two or three reps in, then do the pathetic pelvic thrust on the last two as my right arm went jellyfish. They were both making each other worse and it feels a lot better with corrected form in each lift.

Right on. We'll take a good look. Sounds like your head's in the right place, so you may endear yourself to...

Nah he's talkin irl brahs givin him shit. We are positive folks, despite the poltergeist.

Yea I think I'm done with bulking. I look fit as hell right now after my cut but the lack of fat is revealing the true size of some of my muscles and they just aren't to my liking.

Clean bulk incoming.

Thinking about doing some chest overtime this week.

Is it odd that I don't feel like bench hits my chest that hard? Even when I bench to failure my chest is almost never sore after workouts, and I know my form is solid. It bothers me because while my chest isn't small it's nowhere close to where I want it, and a big chest is probably my biggest goal in terms of gains.

So I'll do some weighted dips and some vertical barbells today after my other SS stuff, but is there any other stuff you guys suggest to really hit that chest and have it burning after?

thanks im going to research that.

i sleep 8 hours and eat healthy, and clean. my job is just very demanding and drains a lot from me.

Eat more of what you are eating now. Take a multi.

When brahs lift, they gotta fight many more things besides the weight

Flys? Either with dumbbells, cables or on the machine.

Now that my chest is a little bigger I find it easier to activate and use my chest muscles during bench press.

Not weird at all.

Try using a pec dec, dumbbel bench presses, cable cross overs do some burnouts on machine presses after its all said and done. Not that soreness is an absolute indicator of a good workout.

Who (outside of our local heroes in the thread) are good examples what you can achieve as a 100% lifetime drug free bodybuilder? Seems like every time I turn around someone I was starting to admire was on roids, and the furthest you'll ever see me go is OTC stuff, like primatene or yohimbine for cutting (I can attest that the EC stack definitely does the trick).

tell me more...

edit: just looked it up...eh...no thanks lul

tell me more...

Well I'm pretty stim tolerant so it doesn't send me flying like it might some people but if you follow the proper ramp-up protocols the first time you try it you'll be able to assess your tolerance just fine.

Anyways, there's not much to say. Caffeine and ephedrine are both stims, they have a synergy where they're more effective together. They've been shown in numerous studies to give a very slight boost to the metabolism (something on the order of 5%) which can slightly increase with regular, prolonged use. The stim effect can give you a boost in your workouts and the combo is a good appetite suppressor.

Read up here and remember, twice the dose is not twice as good. Don't be a dumbass.

http://www.hotnfit.com/ecstack

says it might up the blood pressure

as a black man nothx

Read the first site in its entirety. Also, you know what lowers blood pressure is losing fat :D

Would love to try EC stack but things pretty impossible to come by in here. Everything's banned in EU. Don't want to order ephedrine from some shady online retailer either and I'm not sure what they would do if they caught the shipment in customs. Not worth the risk of getting in to trouble :S

I used the EC stack once in combination with a mild calorie deficit and a very, very mild cutting back on carbs (which essentially was 90% of my calorie reduction). I think I was about 200 calories below maintenance, maybe not even that much. I will have to find my before-and-after photos from a few years ago when I did it, but it seemed to work very well. Important to note though, I monitor my blood pressure regularly so I had a good idea of where I was before I started the stack and then monitored it throughout. It's not a huge risk, but you absolutely should monitor your BP just to be on the safe side. If you notice it getting too high you should obviously cut back and eventually cease your dosing.

EDIT: Generally-speaking, I'm not sure a calorie deficit and a low-ish carb diet is a good combination, but in my case both were pretty mild (I forget the carb count, but I think I was still hitting 150-200+ grams/day).

Uhg, sore throat is gone but feel sore as fuck and my head is killing me. I wanna go for this deadlift but I just don't know. Think I'll rest around the house drink some coffee and see how I feel in a few hours.

I'll have to watch that video later on, thanks.

This is one reason I appreciate the old school bodybuilders and strongmen. To look at an unquestionably natural physique one has to look back at an era before anabolic steroids.

I can't find pictures, but look for Bill Pearl in the 1950's versus Bill Pearl in 1961. He supposedly added 25lbs of lean body mass in one year running up to a 1961 contest, and going on pictures I don't doubt that. Although athletes were using anabolic steroids in the mid to late 1950's, Pearl made it's utility most apparent.
