You truely believe the league you love is rigged? You believe stern actually calls that games refs and tells them to specifically give more calls to the heat so that they can win? If so honestly why would you watch?

Do refs favor stars absolutely, been happening for a long time. Obviously players who go to the basket a ton of times are going to get more fouls. Last night was ugly, it happens. The best teams still win. If any of you think the refs are the real reason we will win this series I think you need you hea examined. Refs being stupid is a given in any sport, the best teams still find a way to win. Ref bitching is never a good excuse for a loss when there are a million more real basketball plays that can determine the outcome. And that's my take on it.
While I certainly get where you're coming from, I just don't think this logic makes sense. If you acknowledge that stars get calls, and Miami has bigger stars, doesn't that give them a bigger advantage? If two teams are relatively evenly matched, wouldn't a few lopsided calls give one team an advantage over the other, making it more difficult for the other team to win? There isn't some magical well of willpower that can allow a team to overcome biased officiating. It's a nice thought, but it's not realistic.

I don't want to get into a big debate about the calls in this series. I'm a Boston fan and I'm mostly not happy with them, but whatever. I'm not on the floor and I'm not a ref. But two calls that really stuck out to me were the T on Kevin and the foul that took Pierce out of the game. I didn't agree with either of the calls. Would it not be fair to say that Boston likely would have won the game if those calls didn't happen? In that case, wouldn't it mean that the better team that night didn't actually win because of bad calls? Maybe you thought those were good calls, which would invalidate this example, but the argument stands.

I get that blaming the refs is a cop out excuse and you have to overcome. But I just don't think the "better team always wins argument" is sound. You can't say that if one team has an advantage. Based on your own admission, I don't see how you could say that Miami doesn't have advantage over most teams.

Miami is a horrendous three point shooting team. Battier will literally wilt and disintegrate in the Finals. Floor spacing for Miami will be ATROCIOUS against the Spurs defense.

Miami actually does not have a chance against San Antonio.

Mia was a really good 3pt shooting team in the regular season. They've been trash all playoffs. I could see them getting hot at the right time.

Their 3pt defense is shit though so it may just even out IF they get hot.

:/

Hes right though man.

Basketball stats suck.

And its correct to hate them too. They are the reason why Marcus Camby has a DPOTY and Tim Duncan does not.

I know they suck man. I actually hate the heat.....But how else are you going to prove someone else wrong on this board? Blackmamba does it better tho.

Steve Nokak has a higher 3pt % than any other player in the league this year.

BEST DEEP THREAT IN THE LEAGUE

John Wall averaged more assists than Tony Parker

Serge Ibaka blocked way more shots than anyone else in the league

The Boston Celtics averaged more assists per game than the Spurs

It only makes too much sense. You don't even have to think!

Holy shit.

They did!

Wow.

(OKC is dead last in the league in assists)

(behind the fucking Pacers)

(I found that pretty funny)

Iso heavy okc just like last year against the mavs, is going to get demolished. Who mind you, had out of this world ball movement too coupled with stellar 3 point shooting. Miami does suffer from the same issue but atleast one of there iso players is a very good passer who is willing to share.

This Spurs team is orders of magnitude better than the Mavs squad from last year.

This Spurs team is better, I'm not going to argue otherwise. But the Mavs squad from last year really had much of what this Spurs team has. Excellent ball movement, excellent perimeter shooters, crazy levels of depth, long perimeter defenders, ability to play Big or Small, great scoring punches coming off the bench, excellent decision makers at the PG position, Crazy good schemes and execution defensively against superstars, I can go on but I won't.

There is a serious lack of numbers in this post.

Eh, OKC has significantly better ball movement and offensive sets than MIA. They just get a lot of unaccounted for assists (->free throws), and waste a lot of possessions on pseudo-transition offense that is rarely assisted. But when they actually get into their stuff they aren't that bad. Not great, but not Miami bad.

Though I will say that I have been impressed with the complexity of Miami's playcalling as of late. Much better than it used to be. Actual off the ball motion and shit *gasp*

Seems so. But i still think miami will give a far better challenge than OKC, will see what pans out.

I think tonight will be the toughest one of all for 16-0. If we win I like our chances at closing it out in game 4...hopefully OKC will lay down and die; I'm not too worried about us being complacent given our track record. Either Finals matchup is easier than this Thunder team so a sweep there is more likely than in the conference finals...

Pretty hyped, but my optimism is wavering. Its going to be very hard.

I agree, Wade and Bron are a much better duo than Durant and YNB. If Bosh is healthy they have a much better chance.

They have a decent enough chance at winning it all if Bosh is 100%

I predict a blowout too. OKC will try to do too much, by that i mean Durant/Westbrick and the team will end up paying for that. What young teams tend to do basically. Showboating parker etc etc Will see.

This whole run is like fan fiction that you wrote. I hope there is a sequel.

I expect the Thunder to win tonight but if they won't, it's not going to be a blowout.
Timberlake, you're becoming insufferable. Seriously. If this is how Lakers fans come across then I fully understand why so many folks never want us to win. Damn.

This is over, Spurs have got into Westbrooks head. The little passing he did, well, I expect the amount to drop even lower this game.

HAHAH Marcus Jordan just sent a tweet to a porn star thinking it was a private message. Asked her to hook up 'again' for cash. Then tweeted that it was a joke.

'Direct message me back Boo'. HAHA

I can't wait for the parker vs brook battle......It's as predictable as kobe coming down the stretch to shoot a contested 3 after making a previous one LOL

No, a big part, as in 99%, of what made Jordan a compelling figure is because he was better than any other player in the history of the game and won six championships. People didn't really hate on LBJ until he did what he did w/r/t the Heat. A Heat/Spurs finals would be perfect for me. I get to watch Timmy cry or LBJ/Bosh cry.
what?

I saw Jim Rome RT Drake and was extremely confused. Then I saw that T. Boone Pickens randomly responded to a Drake tweet and I was left despondent.

Oh, and last night.

@liltunechi(lil wayne): Anthony Davis to the Hornets!!?! I'm movin bak home.

You know those times when you're in the shower, relaxing, and just fantasizing about random shit? Dreams you have, girls you want to bone, accomplishments you wish you could make?

Well I swear I've thought this exact one up.

..
..

Does this mean that I can force Joey Crawford into retirement if I just think hard enough?
