At least someone was happy Sharon Stone reprised her notorious femme-fatale role with "Basic Instinct 2."

The box-office bomb received seven nominations Monday for the Razzie Awards that mock the bottom of Hollywood's barrel, among them worst picture and worst actress of the year.

Also receiving seven nominations was the Wayans brothers comedy "Little Man," about a thief posing as a baby, including worst picture and director for Keenen Ivory Wayans.

Shawn and Marlon Wayans shared a worst-actor nomination, while sisters Hilary and Haylie Duff shared a worst-actress nomination for "Material Girls."

"We stuck the siblings together to allow room for more dreck," said Razzies founder John Wilson.

And a little Rocky Balboa love:
The big surprise for Wilson was that all-time Razzies champ Sylvester Stallone's "Rocky Balboa" was not nominated. Stallone, who has 30 Razzie nominations and 10 wins, surprised many skeptics by delivering a sequel that was well received by audiences and earned better-than-expected reviews.

"At the first of the year, you could not have convinced me it wasn't going to be a Razzie contender," Wilson said. "I would like to publicly say that Stallone has made a good movie."

These are examples of nominations that have really ruined the funniness of the Razzies for me. They have started down the road of catering to all the pretentious bottom feeding jaded people of the internets. People may have not enjoyed or like Lady in the Water just like they haven't M. Night's last few movies but for me and alot of others it was enjoyable and you can't say its the worst among the drek thats out there. Same with some other nominations there.

And though Bloodrayne was indeed a very bad movie and rightly deserves a spot up there to vote Ben Kingsley in that spot is just absurd. Especially when you have your pickings from the same movie including Meatloaf and Michael Madsen.

The physical form of blasphemy
Anybody associated with Superman Returns and Lady in the water need to be given an award, on account of it being the right ****ing thing to do.

Has anyone ever been there to accept their razzie award?

Tom Green brought his own red carpet one year. Steps out the car and rolls it out. Haha, I thought it was pretty G.

I didn't know Bill Cosby accepted his award in person.

I can't access razzies.com. Does anyone know if they are reviving their new (lame) category from last year, Most Tiresome Tabloid Targets?

A Shining Example
I think Sharon Stone winning is a lock. And LOL @ her nomination for worst screen couple.

I haven't watched any of these movies but from what I hear about Basic Instinct 2, its so bad its actually quite good for a laugh. I'll probably watch it when it hits cable.

Haven't seen Lady in the Water, but I agree with the Ben Kingsley nomination. He was so out of place in that movie. Sure, everyone int he movie was awful, but Ben's playing of the role completely straight and serious made him stick out like a sore thumb. Look at the other actors - they KNOW they are in a piece of garbage. Ben, though, he just comes off as oblivious.

Oh, and Lady in the Water really IS that bad. And it's not just that its an incompetent film; it's an incompetent film that is unbelievably self-righteous and pretentious. I like some of Shyamalan's films, but my god this was absolute garbage.

And it's nowhere near as entertaining as BloodRayne or The Wicker Man.

I whinny my fervor lowly, for his length is not as great as those of the Hylian war stallions

Might as well give two awards to Nicholas Cage as he's going to pick up his second for Ghost Rider.

UGH, I cringe everytime I see the trailer.

I have to add that Meatloaf is awesome in BloodRayne. As is Madsen, who I am convinced was drunk the entire time he was on set.
You don't have to be convinced about anything -- it's a reported fact that he indeed was drunk every day.

For your consideration... The best scenes from Wicker Man.
This is the best trailer I've ever seen! I know it's not a trailer, but it should be. I want to see 90 minutes of Nicolas Cage being a huge asshole, kicking teenage girls and punching out old ladies and messing with kids. So awesome. :lol :lol :lol

why did Tom green have to be escorted off stage?
From this article.
Green concluded his speech with a specially-composed piece of music he played on the harmonica.

The organisers had to drag the star off the stage when it became clear his composition was never-ending.

"Apparently I have to make way for a birthday party," shouted Green.

He was not mistaken - as he left the awards ceremony clutching his five Razzies, birthday hats, streamers and cake were being delivered.

It seemed an appropriately bizarre handover.

It was a good year for dreck.

I'm surprised the Razzies didn't pick up on "The Fountain" with Hugh Jackman. What an unwatchable train wreck that was.

Many awards should be lavished on the Wayans brothers and Santa Clause 3. Even looking at the trailers for Little Man and Clause 3 was painful.

Bloodrayne was a pretty entertaining bad movie. If it were 16 years ago, and it was on USA Up All Night, it would fit right in.

And yeah, Madsen was drunk the entire time. Also, Ben Kingsley refused to do any scenes with him.

I'm surprised the Razzies didn't pick up on "The Fountain" with Hugh Jackman. What an unwatchable train wreck that was.

Hmmm, I was interested in this movie, too. I figured it might blow ass when it came out and was promptly forgotten within 2 weeks, although there was, of course, the initial wave of hyped lovers.

Hell, I couldn't look at the poster for Little Man without cringing.

I loved The Fountain and still do. :p

For whatever the opinion of an internet stranger is worth, I loved it and will be buying the DVD. I listen to the score at least once a day at work.

lol at bear suit and boobies

Well, the video is the best of it. I thought it was funny the whole way through, though. Nicholas Cage just kind of stumbles around and yells at people, or punches them.

And he might have been quite drunk while making the film too; I had a Leaving Las Vegas vibe a few times in the film. :lol

The first Wicker Man is weird; this one is funny.

WHAAAAT?! Even at it's worst, The Fountain is at least a thousand times better than dreck like Little Man and Bloodrayne.

How can anyone hate on BloodRayne?

No doubt! We need to appreciate the entertaining shit we are getting. So few cheap, shitty genre movies are made these days.

I own Boodrayne on DVD. I own all of Uwe's game movies.

Little man was the best movie of 2006. Horrible choices for nominations.
Hell no, it was a stinking pile of mierda. And so was Lady in the Water, I completely agree with these nominations.
