All I hope is that the story doesn’t fall apart at the end like the first. Everything else just as good as the first game I would be happy with.

You can't burn Hugo alive at any point in the game.

Can't see any difference between RT on vs off. Is it really only for shadows?
No RT in the game at the moment, that video is a dlss comparison. There is an RT toggle in the engine config file but it doesn't do anything, my performance is the same with it on or off, and we know RT has a performance hit so I didn't bother even trying to work out what was being raytraced because the safe assumption is nothing.

Yes, the game still has film grain, dof, lens dirt, lens flares, lens distortion and vignette enabled.
Go to your documents folder and open the file ENGINESETTINGS. At the end, you can turn all of this off.
You might also want to tweak the sharpening filter strength.
The cinametic crowd must be overjoyed. All the bells and whistles, cinametic effects for days AND at a cinematic framerate. Must be an absolute joy!

looks great / 4k dlss perf around 50-75 fps with a mix of low med high settings on the 3070. visuals justify the requirements for me

and as always, 4k/dlss performance looks better, cleaner, resolves more detail and overall has better clarity than "native" 1440p

If you have the option and you have a decent gpu like a 30 series card, do yourself a favour and play on PC. I do love consoles but playing on my series x last night and it looks how I used yo always remember console games looking vs PC on previous gens, it's doing some things that just look to degrade the image, it looks a little flat, fuzzy, blurry and just not there compared to PC.

It still looks good don't get me wrong but high / ultra settings with dlss quality on PC looks absolutely insane and runs at like 100fps on my rig.

Need my FE 4090 ASAP.

NO PAIN TRANCE CONTINUE
40 FPS in 120hz. Some dips here and there, more so when there's a lot of particles on screen.

On a 24" 1080p monitor looks really good. Native resolution, I think. If there is some form of DRS then it's not that noticeable.

Thanks! Very detailed answer! Downloaded it yesterday. =)

1440p40, with the consoles still dropping frames.
Wait, even consoles drop frames? Damn, was inclined to go for that because it's usually PC versions suffering from this, which I can confirm after trying it out on PC.

Also, if I'm using the movement analogue stick and camera stick simultaneously there's a frequent stutter in the camera movement, but no FPS issue.

Please turn off chromatic abberation or whatever is causing all that noise in the image. Is this on consoles?

Yeh it's off don't worry, realised the default settings in photomode turns all that shitty image processing back on by default every time you enter and exit it even despite the fact that I have CA, film grain etc all disabled for my game settings.

They seem to love all that crap too much.

This is a weird one. The game at times looks phenomenal and can absolutely hold up to AAA standards in terms of vistas and art style. But as soon as you start moving around, the whole thing starts to crumble. The animations are stiff, the game feels on rails at times and some of the gameplay mechanics are buggy as hell (stealth, takedowns).

As soon as the action on the screen ramps up, the framerate takes a noticeable hit on PS5. Especially present during scenes with the rats. I feel like Asobo wanted to play with the big boys but in the end, they bit off more than they could chew.

I agree to some extent. I only really feel that they stumble with character models and lip synching, everything else has been decent for me.

They deserve props for punching above their weight. Everything outside of motion captured actors and character models is equal or better than any other triple A game IMO.

Yeah lip sync is not the best. But not a real issue. I have more of a problem with how the game feels controlling. This is a noticeable difference to a Tripple A title for me. But besides that, I´m not mad or shaming Asobo. I´m glad they tried something ambitious and I´m sure they will be successful with that.

My only real issue is the 30fps thing. I´m sure we will see a 60fps mode down the line.

You have a 2070 Super right GHG?, thats similar level to my 1080ti. Try putting everything on medium, with textures on max. You should get around 60fps at 1080p.
This is way worse than i thought.

Easily the worse optimized game of 2022, everything on medium at 1080p on a 2070super to get semi-stable 60 fps?? Lmao what a shitshow.

Yeah i'm gonna buy the game when the new pc build is done.

Currently at chapter 10, i can say i don't like where the story is going. The base concept was a mix of historical setting and fantasy that i think was original and well balanced, but from the moment you get to the island i think it becomes the stereotypical bad story in any video games (while getting rid of any historical value at the same time).

i was looking forward to see what my 6800xt can do… well, not looking great lol

The game is not extremely optimized, but the game honestly doesn't need Ultra/Max settings in native 4K at 120 fps (so-to-speak) to look stunning.

For me it worked. Changes shadows and the framerate went down a lot. I changed to 3 lines. Ray Tracing, SSRaytracedShadows and RaytracedShadows.

Something doesn't add up. I'm getting almost rock solid 60 FPS (almost because there are some minor hitches; mostly when it loads new location) on a mix of High and Very High settings.

RTX 2060 Super, Ryzen 3600, 1080p, DLSS Balanced.

Unless we're talking about no DLSS then yeah, it's not pretty.

I played the first two chapters on PS5 on my OLED C1. I gotta say 40fps/120hz with motion blur and chromatic aberration off feels much better than what I was expecting.

Is not "1080p, DLSS Balanced" something like 720 or 800p?

I'm gonna take back what I said before and say, the series S version is seriously impressive with 120hz VRR on and so forth.

Man I am so happy that I can play this game on my series X and just hop on to PC and continue my save there and vice versa. Especially when the little one or the wife are using the TV. I wish more games did this.

A lot of games already do? And practically any new games that are on Game Pass PC and console will do. I would go so far and say Game Pass games that don't do this are now in the minority.

Did not know this, I rarely touch my Series X as I mainly play the PS5 but that is definitely a great feature.
