Indeed, the fundamentalists are rare. But the "us and them" mentality probably helps these things happen, and it is alive and well in Sweden. I had a muslim friend there who was born in Sweden and rarely went to his parent's country and he still regularly used expressions such as "those Swedes".

Integration is a two way street. We exclude them, they exclude us, eventually we've sufficiently otherised each other that some psychopath can justify something like this.

As for the attack today: I'm not shocked, just sad. I've been expecting something like this ever since the terrorists started acting more and more like school shooters; broken people who self-radicalise and use their own resources to execute simple yet effective attacks.
