@matthewamiller

Also, the next U.S. atty in line of succession was not Boente, but Zach Fardon. Did Trump go forum shopping for one who would follow orders?

Wow. What a complete fucking joke.

Edit: wait a minute... could be he turned it down because he wouldn't defend it either?

Trump is the fucking law.

My Sister called me earlier today. She wanted to know what was going on, why people are protesting and why the minority kids she teaches keep saying bad things about Trump. She is a White woman that couldn't give two shits about politics. But now she is worried. My only hope is that others like her will finally wake up too.

tell her what is happening, truth is our weapon

He could've just let her go tomorrow with Sessions being confirmed and nothing would've happened

But nope, he had to tweet about it like a shitlord, appoint someone for a day, and have Bannon write him that fucking drivel

That's what is crazy. They fired her out of spite.

"What, you're not going to rubber stamp this?"

For fuck sakes. Congress really needs to get together in secret and get this ducker out of here. I don't give a fuck that we still will have a republican president, Trump and his team need to go asap.
They won't turn on Trump until they know they got enough of his base. They play to win.

Obama was just over 10 days ago.
This is how quick fascism can take root.

The plans started on election night
The sideshow was while they worked out a game plan. Facism in the WH began a while ago. They aren't that efficient. When/if they are forced off their plan they will be really dangerous and weird.

I just got home from one of the most depressing and tear-filled nights of my entire life.

(I came home to find one of my cats, who recently was diagnosed with aggressive cancer, dead. My fiancee and I, who do not want children and treat our cats as them, brought her to be cremated.)

So after legitimate depression and sadness, I am now also feeling pure anger and, to be honest, a little bit of fear.

I can not fathom what is happening in this country.

Yates is a damn American hero.

I think we are just one more bullshit EO away from some major violence happening.

They aren't wasting time and trying to ram through and create as much chaos as possible.

"When I reached the stables the gold cloaks tried to seize me. Joffrey had offered me a tower to die in, but I had spurned his gift, so now he meant to offer me a dungeon. The commander of the City Watch himself confronted me, emboldened by my empty scabbard, but he had only three men with him and I still had my knife. I slashed one man's face open when he laid his hands upon me, and rode through the others. As I spurred for the gates I heard Janos Slynt shouting for them to go after me."

All hail.

For the past couple weeks, I feel like the media has been dancing around the fact that all this is fucking insane. Maybe they just don't want to cause panic or something but they better take this press release to task.

Terrifying as this is, history will remember her well.

I mean, he's just racing toward an impeachment, right?

In a perfect world? Objectively so. But this clearly isn't a perfect world, seeing where we are now. Republicans are probably going to let Bannon & his cronies get away with this indefinitely.

If she was going to be gone soon anyway why fire her? This just keeps the Muslim ban he was trying to get rid of in the news doesn't it? Was this out of spite?

This was a Trump action, so definitely.

Why would he want an Obama selection writing orders on his behalf anyway?

He should have relieved her of duty the day he came into office. I mean, he fired all the State Department veterans. But he thought it was a good idea to keep the AG around?

The fact that he signed half of these executive orders without even having his own people in place in the first place to enforce them is disturbing.

It's as if he doesn't give a shit about anything except trying to get some stupid factoid in the Guinness Book of World Records for #of executive orders in a week.

The thing that gets me is how Trump supporters probably see this like a lot of us saw the likes of Kim Davis.

"What a terrible person, sticking to her corrupt and HORRIBLE values, were dragging traitors like her kicking and screaming to a glorious new world. Deal with it, lady!"

Man, dark times ahead.

How many other instances of a Cabinet official (acting or otherwise) refusing to cooperate with the President have we seen since Nixon? Not trying to be clever 'cause I honestly don't know myself but I don't think the number is high.

Trump said he would let her stay on until the new nominee is confirmed, so he was already going to replace her (which, again, is the norm for new Presidents).

Edit: you must have edited while I was typing my reply. I already said that I think that she was right to stand up for her principles and oppose Trump on this.

Okay, this is the wrong way to frame this if you truly care about the accurate truth of the matter.

She did not 'refuse to cooperate'. She refused to disobey the judicial branch in its finding that the order must be stayed, no question no exception. They are violating that order. They are breaking the law. They should be arrested, immediately.

She was upholding the law. THAT'S what happened here. That's why they bounced her.

She won't be the last thrown out for standing up against illegal acts. The best way to honor those who make that sacrifice is by being clear and pointed about why they made it.

Are you sick ? No matter the reasons, you can't throw the equality in the vote by criminalizing it. That's not how democracy works. That's Something Trump would do. Please wake up or get out.

Dude, you're getting way too agitated for something I wasn't complete serious on. Are you sick?

If there is any merit to the accelerationism theory that was spouted before the November we're going to make the Scandinavian countries look like banana republics by 2030 thanks to the blow-back from Trump's presidency.

goddamn

He's probably watching TV

To the people minimizing the fact she was fired. They just had to wait a day and her defiance would have faded into the news ether. What they did now was create another firestorm for tomorrows news cycle. Another fire of their own creation to put out. That and the press release in tandem is just... theyre chopping off their own appendages at this point.

Everytime I think this administration can't go any lower, I see a new release that just degrades the office of the most powerful nation on Earth.

Shame is the only feeling I can express at the moment.

Trump was/is too petty to let it slide; he takes everything personally.

BETRAYED
WEAK
VERY WEAK
WRONGLY HELD UP

These are not things the President of the United States should be saying in a press release involving what is clearly an internal conflict within the administration. This is embarrassing and shameful.

CNN commentator guy just said Steve Bannon is an "evil genius," a "radical, revolutionary nationalist" and "thrives in chaos".

This is about sending a message to everyone else working in the government - fall in line with the supreme leader or get fired.
