"Nothing is fucked? The plane has crashed into the goddamn mountain!"

I'm going to buy a history textbook in 2030, just to read and reflect on this embarrassing stretch of our country's history.

Well you're saying that like shit is going to be all peachy then.

You better hope they don't literally start rewriting history.

So what shade of red will Sean Spicers eyes be when he has to tackle this issue

His response tomorrow will be "Well, as I said yesterday if you don't agree get out. Next question."

They are going to continue to do as much as possible to shut down criticism and down play everything they are doing.

Trump is the fucking law.

My Sister called me earlier today. She wanted to know what was going on, why people are protesting and why the minority kids she teaches keep saying bad things about Trump. She is a White woman that couldn't give two shits about politics. But now she is worried. My only hope is that others like her will finally wake up too.

One thought comes to mind about the last few months, and especially, this last week...

JOURNALISTS GONNA EAT IN 2017

Good on her for doing right by America and our ideals.

I hope against hope it's remembered as a brief yet savage footnote followed by years of languorous if repressive conservative rule as opposed to a turning point from which we may never recover.

Everyone who voted for this tyrant into office deserves to have their voting rights revoked for the rest of their lives.

He couldn't even wait a day on this. Donald Trump and friends really believe they're above the law.

At least she went out standing up for what she believes in and maintaining the integrity of her profession.

Far more than can be said for the GOP congresspeople and senators - most haven't said anything about any of this, which can only mean they either support what he's doing or they're holding out until he gives their rich benefactors a tax cut. Either way, they're on the wrong side of history, and the history textbooks of the future will be sure to frame the whole despicable lot of them as such.

The sudden firing of a cabinet official like this has not happened since Nixon.

How many other instances of a Cabinet official (acting or otherwise) refusing to cooperate with the President have we seen since Nixon? Not trying to be clever 'cause I honestly don't know myself but I don't think the number is high.

Remember that Trump asked Yates to stay on, for one thing. He cannot just call her an "Obama Administration appointee." He already had his chance to replace her, but asked her to stay instead.

Trump said he would let her stay on until the new nominee is confirmed, so he was already going to replace her (which, again, is the norm for new Presidents).

Edit: you must have edited while I was typing my reply. I already said that I think that she was right to stand up for her principles and oppose Trump on this.

For fuck sakes. Congress really needs to get together in secret and get this ducker out of here. I don't give a fuck that we still will have a republican president, Trump and his team need to go asap.

This acting AG getting dismissed was inevitable. She opposed administration policy that wasn't even a week old, though I agree with her impulse on this absurd affair. No government would look well upon that kind of activity. That press release is far more chilling than the dismissal, to be frank.

If she was going to be gone soon anyway why fire her? This just keeps the Muslim ban he was trying to get rid of in the news doesn't it? Was this out of spite?

Lmao at that press release. It sounds like Trump wrote it himself.

"Uh, Mr. President are you sure we should use the word 'betr...'"

"DID I FUCKING STUTTER? I SAID SEND IT!"

What a fucking clown car of an administration.

@matthewamiller

Also, the next U.S. atty in line of succession was not Boente, but Zach Fardon. Did Trump go forum shopping for one who would follow orders?

Are you sick ? No matter the reasons, you can't throw the equality in the vote by criminalizing it. That's not how democracy works. That's Something Trump would do. Please wake up or get out.
