Alinea Analytics: Helldivers 2 on xbox outsells PS5 within first 6 days of launch

Still gonna be a nice $100-$200 million in pure profits for Sony depending on 1-2 million sales plus MTX.

I can see long term profits exceed half billion. There's also potential for Gamepass money bag if game cools down in the future and could use a boost.

Alenia Insights, yikes.

But considering the game's two SKU's are both in top 3 paid Xbox apps in the US, Canada, UK etc, it's very likely doing some good business. Arrowhead and Sony are probably very happy with the results.

Not even a good unofficial source. What was it we were making fun of last time, adamsapple adamsapple ? They were using trophies or something to guess what the sales were for something?

Yeah, their main guy (I forget his name) said on twitter they extrapolate estimated sales based on the number of user reviews left on a game's page, which is a fucking ridiculous metric.

and all it took was the best Halo game since Halo, made by Playstation... ouch.

regarding this "news".... little sus. but if true, Helldivers 2 is the Trojan Horse than will destroy Game Pass from within.

Finally a good game on Xbox. Of course it will sell. The console was dead with no games since its release.

Joking aside, I don't really believe this news because the source is in fact a real joke.

Was that Rhys Elliott? lol

My biggest issue with them is there isn't a single page on their site that talks about tools and methodologies. Unlike VGInsights and Gamalytics, for example. But neither of those two are trying to be the new NPD/Circana.

what?
ok...

I kinda don't believe this...

edit: I just remembered... didn't it also sell like 3 to 1 on PC vs PS5? so maybe this shouldn't be that surprising.

Alinea should be a banned source for sales numbers, like VGChartz their numbers are completely fake, just fan guesses

It is currently the 7th most played game on Xbox. Regardless, if the numbers aren't real. The game is a huge success on Xbox
Top 1 and top 3. The Xbox ranking consider the sales of the last 7 days, so now just a week after launch it gets a more fair comparision vs the older than a week games

i mean helldivers 2 popularity helps alot.
Most people did not expect helldivers 2 end up better and more popular than helldivers 1 when it first launch few years ago

I do not believe it. Then it should same with other shooters as well and that too with such little user base. Does not make sense. But hopefully we will have real numbers. Are there any reliable comparison of games sales between the two consoles ?

I don't think you'll even have to wait for the next gen machine to see more Sony games on Xbox. :messenger_smirking:
Some, especially multiplayer games for sure. People really expecting the floodgate to open like Xbox has are going to be disappointed.
The problem is that Sony games aint free
There's enough of a base between the PS and PC to cover costs especially as they find ways to pare things down. Putting everything on your competition still doesn't make sense in every case. GTA 6 should be the start of a push to get people to upgrade along with Sony's other games waiting to get released. Just because MS boxed themselves doesn't mean everyone else is screwed if they don't do the same.
Yes PCs have steam in them no matter than pc brand it is.
Guess that's kind of the point, yeah?

True or not, who cares? Xbox games are doing well on Sony consoles and you can bet Sony games will do well on Xbox consoles.

Because the better a Sony port does on PC or Xbox, the higher chance more ports will come as Sony would want to cash in.

But despite financial success (for all the gamers who love sales and profit charts), there's going to be a portion of gamers who hate it as more walled off games go multiplat.

Probably not fully next gen but there will be a point in the not too distant future where every game basically releases on everything, or everything that can run said game.

Fanboys just need to get used to it, its been obvious this was the way it was going to go for years now.
