I would love a Lovecraft-type story set in the Pacific Northwest. Throw in a killer sasquatch for good measure.

I'd love to see it this as well. I've actually joked with a friend about how I'd love to see some serial show dealing with paranormal stuff originating from a forest or lake or something somewhere in the pacific northwest. Geography, atmosphere and weather there just screams scary.

I love the idea of something horrible coming from a lake. Hopefully they explore that at one point.

I really hope they don't run out of steam.

I want to see them actually try to frighten the audience instead of just throwing shit at the wall and seeing what sticks.

Though there have been some creepy stuff in this season.

It's not a horror show, but check out the animated series Gravity Falls. There's about eight episodes or so right now and it'll be coming back in early 2013, I believe. It's about two kids who spend the summer at their Great Uncle's "Mystery Shack" in a small town in the Oregon woods where every bizarre thing possible seems to happen. It's a LOT like the 90's show Eerie, Indiana.

Interview with Lizzie Brochere (Grace).

http://collider.com/lizzie-brochere-american-horror-story-interview/213082/

Did you find it a relief that you could use your own accent and not have to worry about doing another accent?

BROCHERÉ: Yes, I did. That was a relief. When I came, they told me, “Oh, they’re going to dub you over,” and I was like, “Shit!” I was only speaking in English to people, for the two weeks before I took the flight, and I listened to NPR, and I just practiced and practiced. I arrived at the meeting, after having worked so hard on my American accent, and then Ryan said, “Where is your French accent?”

Do you guys actually think this show is scary? I belly laugh at it regularly.

Okay this has been bothering me haha and I know I can't be the only one, but does anyone else think that Dr. Thresdon look like Eli Roth in Inglourious Basterds?

I guess I wasn't paying enough attention, but what was the deal with the modern day piece in the last episode? They found all those dead bodies in the present day, and what connection is there supposed to be to the rest of the show?

They were pretending to be Bloody face. They were killed by Bloody face.

Then Bloody face called the police and talked to the one police officer on the phone.

Edit: And he also took Adam Lavine's girlfriend.

Thanks. I may re-watch it to catch all this.

I'm catching up on season 1. I swear the doctor makes the guy in Sinister seem like father of the year. Holy shit, this dude is the worst. The father in Don't Be Afraid of the Dark, seems like an actually concerned individual and effective parental unit, in comparison. smh.

This show is greatness though. Aside from the father and the daughter, I'm really enjoying things.

No Lizzie Brochere this week :(

Man, Quintos has sure nailed "deranged". Super creepy in this episode, especially at the end. What the fuck?

And now Jude must be on to Mary, right? Christ, Mary's a sloppy murderer. Doesn't even make sure her victim is dead before bolting. Though maybe that was her plan. Arden's still a humongous creep, but now he's a super anti-Semitic freaky creep.

And the fucking Monsignor, just killing Shelly. Mercy kill or evidence cover up? I wonder if Timothy will end up trying to do the right thing or covering everything up.

The patient of the week was... odd. I can't believe the officer just believed her like that.

Was that Dylan McDermott playing the present-day Bloody Face? It sure sounded like him on the phone. I didn't finish the first season of AHS (so damn boring) and the character of Ben bored me... but I'm kind of interested in seeing him as Bloody Face if it really is him.

It's not really scary, but it can certainly be creepy at times, or distressing (like the aversion/conversion therapy).

LOL, is that
AN ANGEL
in the next episode!?

That "devil" is very conniving, I'm sure it had a plan and wouldn't be sloppy.

Well given his reaction and confrontation with Arden following that scene I think it was more of a mercy kill. Though with that exchange I think it's quite clear that Arden has something over the Monsignor. It must be pretty fucking terrible too since the Monsignor has seemingly "approved" Arden's experiments after he brings that "thing" up.

Neither, but maybe this was meant to be some kind of sign of a more sheltered and naive past in the 60s?

I have heard rumours they used a composite voice to make it sound like a few people. My opinion
you're probably right, he said he plays someone fucked up when he signed on for Season 2

Yup! France Conroy making her return :) She seems to suit the role.

While we're at it, does Arden REALLY believe what he told the monsignor? That what he did to Spivey and Shelley would actually lead to those who were more immune to disease? That what he did was a fucking IMPROVEMENT? Or was he just appealing to the Monsignor's clinical ignorance in an attempt to get off for what he did?

Maybe he does really think that. The ones in his office are are messed up and sad looking, but the ones in the forest seem to be ferocious and strong and look like they could survive a nuclear war.

I kind of love that the reason for Arden's experiments is to survive getting nuked by the Russians. Nice reminder of the time period.

I watched all of S1 recently and loved every minute of it. Like Melrose Place with ghosts. I'm not feeling S2 yet. Maybe I've just played too many games with Asylum settings that it feels a bit played out, but I'm just going through the motion with S2.

S1 though, that's some damn good TV.

But season one didn't have aliens. Or Nazis.

So just finished season one which I really enjoyed. It sort of revealed all of its cards around episode 8, so it really lacked any mystery after that, but still was stupid fun.

Avoiding spoilers so I am not reading earlier posts, how has Asylum been so far?

I have no clue what the fuck is going on.

It has been crazy wild fun. And I think it has generally better performances than season 1 from most of the cast and no family issues fluff. It could tumble off into meaningless insanity at any moment, but it has been a great ride so far.

Thanks. Now I can leave this thread and catch up. Just one more question. Do the same rules apply to ghosts and such, or is it a completely different universe?

Completely different kind of supernatural stuff happening in this one. I believe the creators said "No ghosts" going in.
