China to the rescue:India is one of those places you read about where buildings just collapse out of the blue.
There is a hard violent bounce and you can see people breaking their collective asses but there is nothing too graphic imo.Is this safe to watch? Like no mutilation/blood etc? Hate that stuff?
Yup. Never saw the appeal. Frankly I’m shocked there’s no reported deaths. I can’t imagine anyone walking away from that without some serious long lasting injuries, though. That’s got to be significantly more shock to the body than a head on car collision.
As if I didn’t have enough reason to avoid roller coasters and other thrill rides high in the air like this. Spare me the statistics. Spare me on explaining how this might have been due to the park being poorly maintained and bigger parks work harder to prevent this. I’ll get on a plane as that’s just a practical way to reach certain destinations, but getting on shit like this “for fun”?
I‘ll stick to movies and video games for scares. At least I know that shit isn’t actually going to harm me, barring some Ringu shit of course…..
(but anyway, my condolences to those who were on the ride. Hope all the injured make a full recovery)
I was on the smiler ride when it first opened again. Not gonna lie I was very nervous.I was at Alton Towers the day that the rollercoaster crashed and crushed the people on the front seats. The sound was horreandous and they were stuck up there screaming for over an hour. We were stuck in the locked down queue with nothing to do but listen to people crying and screaming in pain.
Tbfh, I've not been to a park since, even in the UK where it's safer.
Shattered tail bones hurt like a mofo. Possible shattered hip and pelvis too. Spinal fractures also possible.Jesus Christ. There are some life changing injuries there
True. And China. I'm always grinding my coworkers because of their construction and they act all sanctimonious, the other day i sent them a video of a dude pulling "concrete" with his hands from a skyscraper in China. I have no words..That’s what happens in places with shit safety standards, bad materials and construction.

Classy dude, real fucking classy. Fortunately due to the design of the ride there weren’t any fatalities. This is one of the reasons why safety inspections are in place, tell somebody in India to get on it.

Mexico is the same. Ahí ni existe la ley de diosThat’s what happens in places with shit safety standards, bad materials and construction.

Yes, it’s incredibly annoying how people cite China as an example of how fast you can build. Yes, with no safety code whatsoever.True. And China. This shit grinds my gears. Even if someone said "oh it's just the cover", you're exposing the rebar to the elements, weakening it in a few years. On a skyscrapper.
Their steel is shit also, i asked once to evaluate a beam to no one's shock, what was supposed to have a 275 MPa resistance, didn't even get to 235 Mpa, which is the minimum we use here....
Just don’t go into any sky scrapers or buildings maybei guess i'm never going to China...

I read that all the staff scattered like roaches once this happenedI think the last 3 amusement park failures I've seen were all in India. Kinda sad, but carnies are always dodgy. Even if this is a permanent park, the safety codes in India are going to be carny tier.

That's Chinese workmanship for ya.
20 years ago I used to help the purchasing dept evaluate samples sent from China. It was all kinds if shit to sell in stores sold from our company. Plates, collectibles, stuffed animal and various trinkets.
The samples they'd send were solid. Wow. This shit looks good. We'd green light it for mass production.
The stuff arrives and people from QA open some boxes to check them out. Crock of shit. The real shipments are different. Look worse, cheaper quality. But it's fucking too late. We got to ship it to stores. The buyers from their head office wouldnt really remember what the initial prototypes were and if you didn't examine them closely, they'd be close enough.
But since I was helping analyze the prototypes with my boxes full of shit at my desk, I could easier compare the sample from a year ago to the final shipment. Not even close.
And this kind of BS business practices even happened to us, which was a big corporation everyone has heard of. So these fucknuts even screw over big companies for a quick buck and dont care about longlasting relationships as we'd cut them off and find another source supplier.
My buddy who works with Chinese suppliers now faces different issue. He'd say they all say YES as if they are the second incarnation of Sean Murray from No Mans Sky. He'd say anytime he'd ask them about this or that, all those places in China say yes they'll do it. And do it on time. But rarely do. Yes yes, yes, yes.
Zero business ethics. Cant get a straight answer from them.
Did they colapse because of the materials used? Did you see that concrete, correction, you can't call that concrete, that's just sand with a grey tint. Buildings and bridges might colapse all over the world, for lack of maintenance, old materials, foundation slipping etc. or even by design failure but the numbers are way way way lower.
