Juice said:Edit: with a few exceptions obviously, just none I get excited about. Kill Rockstars always seems to squeeze a few tracks into these sorts of things.
Juice said:Really sucks to be a Pitchfork-brand indie listener. I keep buying these games and the track lists are always stereotypical mainstream shit.
I thought that DLC would mean a huge quantity of indie tracks, because (like when Frequency came out), those artists are way more cooperative than the majors at sharing masters. Ever since the MTV partnership for licensing, the majors seem to have cut out all of the indies.

DLC doesn't come out of thin air. Harmonix is about to go 9 weeks in a row with releasing 4 or more songs a week, so the variety of genres and styles of music is only going to go up.
Hil-IGN said:Nate goofed in writing that. He hopes that is allowed. Nothing about this has been announced and Nate's never even seen RB2. Sorry, guys.
Juice said:I understand where you're coming from, but I didn't grow up listening to music at all. Music was this black hole of pop culture knowledge other people used to insult me, and that's more or less my entire association with music that was on the radio in the 80s and 90s.
When I started listening to music, it was all via independent artists and sources. To an extent, it's literally the only music I have any attachment to. And because it's almost always more nuanced or creative, nearly everything that's mainstream is really [Peter Griffin]shallow and pedantic[/Peter] to me.

Um...New Pornographers don't count?AstroLad said:yes the complete and total absence of matador in any of these games is pretty unfortunate although the tracklists are still fun and half the fun is hoping certain bands finally make it in ahem pavement.
