Only one :(

Pretty sure main setlists in every GH/RB (barring Aerosmith, por supuesto) have only had one song from each band.

EVERYBODY GET ON YOUR 360S!!

Go on the second blade and the ad for The Who pack will come up (probably).

NEW AWESOME BACKGROUND ART IS AWESOME.

So what are your favorites DT Songs? Octavarium or In the Presence of Enemies would be epic and very exhausting^^

The Live at Budokan arrangement of Hollow Years is my favorite, I think. The ubersolo is just too friggin' awesome.

Studio-stuff Home would be a contender for my favorite...and if they can't get Led Zeppelin up in this bitch, the should get their medley from A Change of Seasons. ftw.

i'm re-iterating my displeasure in choosing tangled up in blue over every other bad-ass dylan song i've wanted to play.

and once again benjamin, you've stumped me with your injoke thread titles, damn you.

Really sucks to be a Pitchfork-brand indie listener. I keep buying these games and the track lists are always stereotypical mainstream shit.

I thought that DLC would mean a huge quantity of indie tracks, because (like when Frequency came out), those artists are way more cooperative than the majors at sharing masters. Ever since the MTV partnership for licensing, the majors seem to have cut out all of the indies.

Edit: with a few exceptions obviously, just none I get excited about. Kill Rockstars always seems to squeeze a few tracks into these sorts of things.

yes the complete and total absence of matador in any of these games is pretty unfortunate although the tracklists are still fun and half the fun is hoping certain bands finally make it in ahem pavement.

That's harsh man. Mainstream yes, the game has to sell, but shit? Hell no. I love indie stuff too, but you can still have fun with music games that don't have all your favorite songs in them.

DLC doesn't come out of thin air. Harmonix is about to go 9 weeks in a row with releasing 4 or more songs a week, so the variety of genres and styles of music is only going to go up.

haha

it's been a while.

Barry: Okay, whatever. Tell Laura I Love Her. That would bring the house down - Laura's Mom could sing it. You know what I'd want? One Step Beyond by Madness. And, uh, You Can't Always Get What You Want.

Dick: No. Immediate disqualification because of its involvement with The Big Chill.

Barry: Oh God. You're right!

Even though I'm pissed that I need to wait for my PS3 release, I can't say I'm not excited as fuck over this playlist. If this playlist is accurate all if forgiven Harmonix.

I'll be playing the guitar again once 'tribute' DLC is released. I'm sure it will be there.
Great list of artists, this sure give my hope of seeing many favourites on the DLC.

Also please have Santaria.

I understand where you're coming from, but I didn't grow up listening to music at all. Music was this black hole of pop culture knowledge other people used to insult me, and that's more or less my entire association with music that was on the radio in the 80s and 90s.

When I started listening to music, it was all via independent artists and sources. To an extent, it's literally the only music I have any attachment to. And because it's almost always more nuanced or creative, nearly everything that's mainstream is really [Peter Griffin]shallow and pedantic[/Peter] to me.

This tracklist blows my mind. Livin' On a Prayer? Carry On Wayward Son making an epic return? Hell yes. And then you've got some random popish stuff, like Blink-182 and Paramore. I am most pleased.

Now, we just need confirmation.

Hil just shot down the rumor about the RB1 songs for free:

Hil-IGN said:
Nate goofed in writing that. He hopes that is allowed. Nothing about this has been announced and Nate's never even seen RB2. Sorry, guys.

Damn.

with the RB2 track list being what it is (if true) who needs RB1 disc content. Especially with RB1 DLC carrying over. If they do add RB1 disc content some how then that will only magnify RB2 into infinite levels of greatness. Which it already seems to be at if the tracklisting is true and I bring up again there is probably 20+ songs not on that leaked list.

Add all the new content and feature sets they havent even talked about yet and this is my personal GOTY hands down.

I count the days until E3 and then I will count the days until RB2 hits in september. fuck these rhythm games are the best thing to happen to gaming in a long time.

"Amazing" isn't even in Guitar Hero: Aerosmith

I just assumed that a song with an awesome Guitar solo is in Guitar Hero Aerosmith. That's pretty fucking wack. :lol :lol :lol

Lots of good stuff in this list. Every time I look I see something else I like. Also love the High Fidelity quote in the title.

1) tangled up in blue (bob dylan)
2) bad to the bone (george thorogood) - More George Thorogood as DLC please.
3) we've got the beat (go-gos) - been wondering when they'd finally get a song in one of these games
4) bad reputation (joan jett) - Freaks and Geeks flashbacks
5) pinball wizard (the who)
9) ace of spades (motorhead)
11) testify (rage against the machine)
12) spirit in the sky (norman greenbaum)
13) ramblin' man (allman brothers)
15) eye of the tiger (survivor) - Fuck yeah. Fuck, fuck yeah.
19) lump (presidents of the USA)
22) carry on my wayward son (kansas)
26) round and round (ratt)
29) today (smashing pumpkins)
30) man in the box (alice in chains)
31) any way you want it (journey) - Right band wrong song. This one has been completely ruined by those damn commercials.
33) give it away (red hot chili peppers)
34) white wedding (billy idol) - Dancin with myself as DLC please.
35) hello there (cheap trick)
37) psycho killer (talking heads)
38) ? (devo)
39) one way or another (blondie)
40) de-luxe (lush)
49) spoonman (soundgarden)
50) bodhisatva (steely dan)
53) american woman (the guess who)
57) mountain song (jane's addiction)

oh, and LOL at the context-sensitive ads i'm getting on this page. I blame the Journey song.

Well, as I said in the Rock Band 1 thread, I can confirm those 60 rumored songs are all int he game. Talked to a beta tester tonight.

And also, as I said in the other thread, they are trying to figure out how they can let people play the RB1 disc songs in RB2 but nothing is definite.

This is ironic.

I'm pretty impressed by this list. I was kind of expecting them to go in a more "gods of rock" direction, but instead it's more like what they did with Guitar Hero 2, which is a good thing. Did not see Bikini Kill or Presidents coming.

Top 5!
Talking Heads - Psycho Killer
Foo Fighters - Everlong
Interpol - PDA
Smashing Pumpkins - Today
Jane's Addiction - Mountain Song

Bottom 1!
Linkin Park - One Step Closer (I feel sorry for those of you with friends that will want to play this over and over. It's going to be like Say It Ain't So but bad.)

Only half points are awarded for Float On, fix this with DLC k?

I played Rock Band for the 1st time yesterday, and I am now being edged on by this! :lol
Drums were the hardest thing at first, but they're a hell of a lot of fun when you get the hang of it.

Slanted and Enchanted or bust.

Though Bright the Corners would be the most fun for parties.

After spending a few hours yesterday and today playing Rock Band, I'm ready for a new interface and a new gameplay tweak or two.

Speak for yourself, I certainly need it.
They better at least make it RB2 DLC so those of us willing to pay the $$ have the option to do so.

Expect the same regions as RB1.

Of course, if you had a PS3, this wouldn't be a problem.
