Shame about no cape for my Raidou

I'm not ready for this yet. I still have plenty of Monster Hunting to do!

I don't think I'm ready for this jelly,

The embargo for reviews lifts on June 4th. I'm just waiting on Nintendo Holland to send me my reviewcopy. Is there a place to share friendcodes yet?

I don't know, But I'll be glad to share! I'm playing a review copy as well, and I wanna test the online functionalities :)

I really really really really like Nintendo's marketing strategy with this one. Lots of 'making-of' or 'hands-on' videos rather than just throwing a trailer or two at us.

In a year that is bringing us Grand Theft Auto V and a new Batman game and Pokemon's first foray into 3D and two Next-Gen consoles, New Leaf is far and away my most hyped title. The original AC gave me some of my most enjoyable gaming experiences of all time. Wild World, while great, failed to re-capture that magic for me, and City Folk was of course an unholy abortion of unethical proportions.

New Leaf looks to be what I wanted out of a sequel ever since the GameCube title. I have virtually no complaints about the game as a whole based on everything I've seen. No "why didn't they add this feature?" or "it looks to similar to its predecessors!" thoughts have gone through my head yet. It just looks like pure, unadulterated joy. I can't wait.

Animal Crossing Town Name: Joiwaca
Wild World Town Name: Joiwaca
City Folk Town Name: I don't recall, nor do I care to. It took years of therapy and hundreds of gallons of alcohol to wash away the memories from that atrocity
New Leaf Town Name: Searynce or Azure or Othirian or one of many other choices rattling around in my head. This is going to be a tough one

Any reason for me to buy another 3DS and Animal Crossing with the current version for my GF instead of us both playing on the same console?

Sharing village major/cleaning duties on the same 3DS makes sense too I guess, right?

Currently considering it, but not sure. We played the DS version on the same device, but hm. So torn.

Only one of you gets to be the mayor. And besides, if you got another 3DS, you could play together.

I may seperate from my wife.

Then buy this and a 3DS.

Then ask her to come back, saying "you can't be mad at anything I did while we were separated".

Only one mayor? Oh, thats stupid. I figured both would be able to just do that. :( Hm.

And to be honest, you'll probably want to play the island games together. There's loads and they're a blast.

But really, it depends on if you are willing to spend the money. That AC 3DS XL is nice, mind...

island games?

And it definitely wont be an XL, me and my gf are painfully aware of how bad the DPI is compared to the normal one (which isnt all that great to begin with). We compared it a lot a few weeks ago and both came to the conclusion we dont like the bigger pixels.

Is it confirmed if we can/cannot get portraits of our neighbors like we used to be able to in WW if we befriended them enough?

island games?

The island is back, Cap'n takes you there on a speed boat. Once you're there, there's a ton of minigames you can play to earn medals, which you can trade for items you can use, like Marine Suits for diving or furniture for your house.

And you can only do them with 2 people or get an advantage by doing so?

You can do them with 1-4 players. IIRC, you do get more medals if you play with others. I think LinAndKo's videos said something to that extent, but I may be wrong.

Who's in charge of the OT for US/EU release? Just curious.

I don't know if I've seen anyone claim it. But if they do, they should be up for the task of updating when ever items become available and whatnot. Seems like it should be a fairly active OT for a while.

Anyone know how system transferring to the AC XL works? If the card it comes with is 4GB, and my 3DS is on a 16GB...?

I'm also guessing the AC game license is tied to the system so I can just reDL it whenever,
