i'm already unimpressed with the iphone 6 leaks. I was waiting for this phone to upgrade from my 4s. The design seems so behind everyone else though.

Behind what? Fake leather looking plastic on Note 3 and 4?
There is only so many ways you can design a rectangle with a screen. They all look the same and will always look the same.

Pretty much how I feel. If the phone had squared edges again people would say it looks the same and complain it wasn't new. I don't think the design is groundbreaking but it's really solid and will probably feel really nice in the hand.

Come on. It's the same 4s with a bigger screen. It doesn't even look great with the top part being so much bigger than the bottom. It's just not very nice. Couldve gone curved glass but they're so late to that game they'd look like they were copying their competitors.

My bet: Current iPhone 5S will be the new 5C, filling that cheaper spot and for those that still want a smaller screen.

The whole point of the 5C was that it was cheaper to produce than a 5S because of the cheaper parts. The idea of a cheap metal and glass backed phone doesn't make sense. I still think we'll have 4 phones - 5C, 5S, 6, 6L.

I think he meant put the 5s internals in that cheap plastic casing. Makes sense to me.

Whilst true, the rounded, organic, candy bar type look they've gone for with the new one is a massive step down from previous designs. It just looks too bubbly and not nearly sophisticated enough. Despite the back of the Note 4 being that faux leather, the device overall still looks nicer than the leaked pictures we've seen of the iPhone 6 imo, namely because of that nice chamfered edge, and overall clean cut, techy look.

What do you mean top part being bigger than the bottom? That's just not the case, they are the same size. I'm not really sold on iPhone 6 design, and think it's a step back on iPhone 5, but the truth is, the quality of manufacturing of every iPhone since 4 has made every other phone I held feel like a plastic toy, and I don't think that will change much with 6.

The leaked iPhone pix is probably the worst looking iPhone since the 3gs. Why can't they just make something like the 4s but worth larger screen?

Sony and Sharp make prettier phone.

They did. It's called the 5/5s.

Anyway, I left iOS for Android about a year ago. I'm pretty happy, but there's still some nice things about iOS, especially since my main computer is a Macbook Air.

If there's a 128GB 4.7" model, I'll probably bite.

Materials wise yah i agree with you, i just think the design is lacking.

Will be getting the iPhone 6 in whatever size has the best battery. Will get an iWatch too, but I think it'll be a launch later on ala Mac Pro. iWatch will either be a watch first with some smart health features hidden in there, or a smart band style thing that is treated more as an accessory to the iPhone.

Apple has grabbed me at the worst time! My contract on my original 5 is up come Sept 20th and I need a phone with more space...BUT I neeeed the battery of the 5.5". Please don't launch later!!! (Side note: if I do to with the 4.7", what are the chances Lifeproof will have a product prepared unlike the iPhone 5 launch?)

And then there's the matter of the watch. When I was a wee lad I loved wearing a watch and I had so many different(cheap) watches. However, I just went for an interview last week and bought myself a watch just for the interview; boy did I open Pandora's box. When I get my check in the mail, I will be buying a very sleek watch whose name I have seemed to lose for a second and I was also looking at possibly getting another at Kohl's earlier, so if they can sweet talk me with their watch, they have me hooked.

5.5 size... Damn. I think I want for battery and awesome screen size. But my phone needs to be able to be in my pocket. Anyone stick Galaxy Notes in their pockets?

Either way I'm gettin a new one. Iphone 5 is still pretty solid but I got the itch

The iPhone 5 is hella solid for a two year old phone. iPhone 4S got iOS 7 as its second major update and can't even swipe between Notification Center tabs on the lock screen without dropping frames. I'm running iOS 8 on my 5 and I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything but Touch ID.

Can't believe not a single previous iPhone owner is in the majority to upgrade.

Yeah. Besides the battery issues, the specs on this thing are fantastic. My phone doesn't feel slow at all.

But the screen size is gettin me. I'm jealous of all the giant screens on the competition cuz I am on this thing all the damn time. Can't wait till next week

Release the iPhone 6 fast Apple.

I need my carrier to get this so I can get it for free and sell it since iPhones have much higher value than any other phone out there.

Probably going to sell now and use my backup Windows Phone for a couple of weeks. I just hope there's not too big a difference between the 4.7 and 5.5. I'm really not interested in a 'phablet'.

Only big question for me is whether to finally go off contract or not. Paying the off contract price would kind of sting.

My phone is always in a case so all I ever see is the ugly-ish plastic case and the screen, this is why I stopped caring what the actual phone looks like.

Don't care much for curved glass but there is no accounting for taste. The only place I can see curved screens to actually be of use is for PC gaming.

It would be the greatest surprise ever if they announce new iPad's like it was rumored in that 9to5mac article today since I can't get a new iPhone this year and I'm DYING for a new iPad mini to replace my first gen.

I don't think it's going to happen though :(

Mentioned this in the previous thread, but I'm happy I'll have Destiny to keep me awake while waiting for the presentation.
inb4 servers crash

iPhone 6 for me, not sure about 4.7' or 5.5' yet, will wait for the prices + reveal.

OS X Yosemite on my Macbook, that phone integration is nifty.

Probably grab an iWatch too, because no self restraint.

Fun times ahead!

Don't see myself getting the iwatch unless it is super super useful for workouts and weight loss/maintenance.

Both the WSJ and Verge Moto 360 reviews claim the battery life doesn't even last a day.

If Apple can't even do better than that, I'll have even less reason to get excited about a smartwatch.

It would be hilarious seeing the reactions in this thread if the iWatch doesn't look better than the Moto 360. "Bu...but... it's Apple"

The battery life will probably be great though like other Apple products.

Was thinking about giving my Xperia Z to my mom and grab myself a new Iphone this time around, let's see what they got

Huh? Hasn't battery life been kinda shitty since the 5?

People say this but I've never seen any semi-objective battery test show anything like this.
People say the battery is getting worse after every update.

Nothing new or shocking. They're also the same people who say Safari is getting faster every update.

Plus, the 4S battery life after 3 years of use is a sad sight...

Battery life is in general super shitty on iPhone and Nexus 5. At this point I would be more interested in both companies focusing on better batteries rather then new features to destroy the battery.

Why do people keep bringing up "I like to have multiple watched to match different outfits" as a detractor to the iWatch's success?

Multiple bands you can swap out to match your outfits.

It's a digital screen, the face can look like whatever you want it to.

Seems like a really simple problem to solve. Don't most Smart Watches already do this? Even the iPod Nano had multiple watch faces and wristband accessories available for it.

Yeah, my girlfriend had to have her battery replaced on the 5 - it would drop down really quickly, in some cases dropping from around 80% to 12% or so in the space of about 10 minutes, and sometimes would just switch itself off with 30% or so battery left. On top of that, her power button stopped working too, so she couldn't switch it back on again if that happened and had to wait until she got home to plug it in. Obviously hardware faults, but they were so widespread that Apple instituted a replacement program for both, she took hers in last weekend to get them to repair both parts. Just in time to sell it off in favour of the 6.

Well, some people might want a silver watch to match certain outfits, or gold to match others, either that or you might want a smaller watch to go with a dress or lighter outfit. You can't change the body of the watch itself. Just an example of why people might not want to be tied to the same watch even if they can change the bands/face.

I suppose that makes sense.

Though I mean, most reports said there would be multiple iWatches in a range of styles and prices, with some of them going as high as $1K. So if you need multiple dress watches to match your outfits... I guess Apple's gonna have you covered?

My only concerns are: how much, is it gonna be bulky, (knowing Apple, no, but we'll see just how svelte they get it) and will it do things I deem neat and useful. I haven't had a watch in a loooooong time and I'm not any kind of.. time piece aficionado so I'm very interested to see what Apple's come up with.
