FUTURE™

I'm really hoping that with iOS 8 extensions, this will follow shortly after. Siri being limited to whatever Apple lets it talk to (e.g., Yelp, Wolfram, Fandango) and just being able to open everything else is really annoying.

As someone who has both an iPhone 5 and a OnePlus One, I don't think I could go with the smaller iPhone 6 model. The OnePlus is 5.5" and quite frankly my iPhone 5 seems like a toy because it's so small in comparison. I think even 4.7" is too small for me at this point as I'm someone who's come around to the bigger the phone the better. Also I find no issues with putting a 5.5" phone in my pocket, I do it everyday and it's plenty comfortable.

I just want this damn event to happen already. It's like we all know what's coming, can we see it officially now please?

5.5 Camera parts:

Rear cameras from 5.5-inch iPhone 6 (left) and iPhone 5s (right)

Feld & Volk says the rear camera does indeed appear to include optical image stabilization (OIS), as the camera assembly has some freedom to float within its module. Rumors have differed on whether the iPhone 6 will include OIS and if so, whether both the 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch models will support it.

Feld & Volk indicates the 5.5-inch camera module does not fit in the 4.7-inch rear shell the firm has on hand, suggesting the two iPhone 6 models will use different camera modules. Supply chain analysts have indeed predicted that OIS will be a differentiating factor for the larger iPhone 6 model.

Why the hell would you put your phone in your back pocket?

And the Galaxy Note doesn't look comfortable to have in your pocket at all. Maybe it's ok when you try it.

Would be nice but no phone has that as far as I'm aware.

Everyone I know puts their phone in their back pocket. That's been my designated pocket for my phone since the iphone 1.

I'm scared of those 5.5 inch prices. Guessing at minimum another 100 premium with same storage. Hopefully performance is the same, although that almost seems impossible if both sizes have the same internals

There's talk of the 5.5" model having 2 gb of ram instead of 1 in the 4.7" model.

Do you guys really give your phone commands in public? It's so damn awkward that I don't even bother. The same would be true for something on my wrist. I don't know if apple can change these social norms.

Further, I don't want people to know what I'm texting to people, where I'm going, or what music I'm listening to.

Siri or other voice input systems have no use to me outside my car or home.

this is the biggest problem.

Siri is incredible. Right off the bat I'll say that. No other voice recognition on the market is even close.

But yeah, in a social environment where I'd love to see LESS talking on/to your phone, that kind of puts Siri in an uncomfortable spot. My biggest pet-mother-fucking-peeve is the modern day people talking into their phone, on speaker phone, like a walkie talkie. Because it wasn't bad enough that I have to hear YOU talking into your phone, now I have to hear the other side of the conversation also? Fuck you.

I just don't know... it's like the lesser of evils.. I can use Siri MUCH faster than I can use touch input/controls.. but at the same time people talking on their phones in public are one of the crappy things about American society today. uggh.

There will no doubt be an unexpecetd curveball in the iWatch industrial design. The unthinkable is to have other companies design Apple products. iWatch by Burberry. iWatch by Luis Vuitton. These companies already have an sizable business on designer Apple accessories. Being able to sell Apple product in store would be a huge win for both sides. And it would explain why Apple has been so keen about poaching fashion execs.

Think it'll be more than 2 hours though? Because if it is, I'll try and go in later.
Not sure but I doubt it.

It's the only place for a waitress to keep her phone. No, I wasn't looking at her butt, I was noticing the phone!!! Gawd.

No way it's more than two hours.

First is the session about Only Apple Can Do This and numbers.
:lol

Don't you ever sit down? No chance I would sit on my phone and taking it out before I sit down sounds awkward. Also hard to access and keep track of.

My body is ready, but my pockets aren't for gigantic phones. Hopefully the 4.7" is available in 128gb. I've been out of space since before 64gb was even released. 5.5" would be too big for me.

Wonder if there will be an online preorder this year, or if it will be store-only like last year. One of my lines is eligible for upgrade on September 14th so, if tradition follows, I won't be able to preorder on Thursday. I'd either have to stand in line overnight or get AT&T to push my upgrade up. OR open a new line and cancel the old.

It's unfortunate that they couldn't at least trim the bezels a bit.. especially the sides. Hopefully the 4.7 fares better but I doubt it. In any case, it's only a few days away so I've kind of gone into power-reserve mode until then.

oh, the 4.7 is here - http://www.spigen.com/brands/apple/iphone/iphone-6/iphone-6-4-7.html

I think it looks a bit better.

Those images of the phones are already wrong as the front facing camera is left of the earpiece, not above it. Also we haven't seen any back panels that have glass cut outs like the 5/5s.

Nothing will be right until 9/9.

Really hoping they don't gimp the 4.7" in order to promote the 5.5. Naturally the 5.5 model will be more powerful, but the camera thing.......

I swear if this is lackluster, I refuse to pay any attention to what Apple has to offer.
Yeah, I don't know how much the rest of you know about watch culture (I'm an expert), but honor and shame are huge parts of it. It's not like it is with phones where you can become successful by being an asshole. (See: Samsung) If you screw someone over in the watch industry, you bring shame to yourself, and the only way to get rid of that shame is repentance.

Hrmm, so Spigen took a photo of a 5S, stretched the screen, changed the bezels, the flash shape, the lense, and the ear speaker hole, but not the logo?

if it was a 6, there would be no glass around the camera lens. these have glass. it’s a frankenstein mockup.

True. I think someone just got out of hand with the glare tool on the logo and the camera lense area.

Size and positioning of everything else I'm willing to bet is 100% accurate. Including screen size/positioning/bezels

Would suck if the 5.5 is the real upgrade.

Honestly don't see my self using something that big. Might have to see it in store.

The price is going to be a killer too. Brb paying £900 in the UK for a phone.

I got a galaxy S5 partly due to the larger screen real estate. The Note series and "phablets" in general are too big imo. The 4.7in IPhone 6 like a nice size and I've compared other 4.7 inch screens against my S5 and it's not too much smaller. But if the rumors about a 5.5 inch model are true, I think it's too big. 5 inches seems to be the sweet spot for me.

If the iPhone 6 can offer a compelling product to challenge the galaxy S5 I might look into it, but from what I've read it's going to be weaker anyway. While stability of the ios operating system would be nice, and I wouldn't have to deal with messenger and some others apps crashing, that alone isn't enough to get me to buy a new phone.

They can be high and mighty while competition keeps chipping away.

except that apple gained marketshare in the US and lost minimal share worldwide while samsung maintained in the US and fell steeply worldwide.

if anything Apple is actually on a comeback in the top end market and is really only losing minimal share to developing market phones. If anything Samsung is way more endangered by what you're claiming than Apple.
