"You know they were Jewish, right?"
Some good gore but it still feels like it's building to something bigger. This episode felt like a pipe-laying one.
Well it is a 5 hour (first) season

'Hail he who has come from the sky to deliver us from the terror of the deadites!'
Cue Evil Dead 2 end credits.
He's showing up on either Jane the Virgin or Crazy Ex Girlfriend?!As I said in the Fargo thread, he'll be in the two best shows this year.

Pffft. Missing out on some hilarious, and critically acclaimed stuff.I have never heard of these shows or the network they air on, and neither has the rest of America.
I'm liking this show so much, it has me buying the 3 older movies on bluray.
Can't even remember the last time I saw them, was years. I do remember Army of Darkness, is by far my favorite. Don't remember the first two.
And Boomstick, and Groovy and 'basically' as a quote. And that windmill at the end of Ep 2. AOD is all over the place in references.Yet the term 'Deadites' is used, which if I recall correctly was created for the name of the undead army in Army of Darkness.

Anyway he needs a better fake hand. Maybe he can develop another robot one.
Ah yeah. Been a few years. But the other stuff.
I mean it's only called a 'boomstick' because primitives wouldn't understand what a twelve-gauge double-barrelled Remington was. Or about alloys and compositions for that matter.

Get the new Scream Factory version of Army of Darkness. It has four cuts of the film, and a wonderful documentary about the making of the film. In fact, the documentary is longer than the film itself.
Fun fact I didn't know until the documentary, Patricia Tallman, aka Lyta from Babylon 5, was the possessed she bitch that Ash fought in the film.
This is the fake shemp the show has been missing. And Boomstick, and Groovy and 'basically' as a quote. And that windmill at the end of Ep 2. AOD is all over the place in references.

Ash VS Evil Dead sees massive ratings drop by nearly 50% since premiere (280,000, .1 demographic):

I believe it's not lower then the "now canceled" Da Vinci Demons. What a shame. Seems like every single show I like is bombing. I wonder if they will pull the season 2 order or if we will still get that at least. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

Thankfully it's already been renewed. But yeah, not great. Hopefully the digital numbers are good.
It seems like Starz has had a hell of a time getting their shows going. I know Black Sails and Power are their bigger shows, but it seems like this one should've been their biggest hit.

Fuck fuck FUCK FUCK FUCKING FUCKITY FUCKERS
I hate this planet.
I thought a Season 2 was already announced? Would be a shame if it gets canceled so soon. If it does, then I won't watch Starz. I actually haven't in years since Ash came on.
To be honest, I don't think this is a surprise to Starz. Their programming is on one of the worst evenings, with no active live viewer base, and highly dependent on on-demand viewing.
Whatever happens, I hope they get enough warning to make a proper ending whenever that may be. I could be quite happy with 2 seasons with a proper ending.
Just dont cut it off mid season 2, or cancel the second season after the s1 finale has already been filmed. That kinda shit hurts. However long this ride is, it needs a good ending.

I imagine this would be one of their better selling series on blu-ray, DVD, and digital when the season is finished. Sell it below $39.99 MSRP, then most retailers have it for less than $20, I could see a lot of Evil Dead fans picking it up.
Why did it end up on Starz to begin with? Probably should have went with a better network, or hell a streaming service.
If it flops at least we'll get a 2nd season and they have enough time to prepare for a nice finale.
Maybe they tried and Starz was the only one willing to bite.
Maybe they should have did a movie instead. Who knows what the costs are for a movie compared to a TV show. The TV show on now seems like it has a nice budget already.

If the ratings really flatline they'll just cancel it. It's not like a network hasn't ever reversed a decision for an additional season. They're not going to continue investing in the show if it's doing that poorly for them.
Really curious about the on demand numbers. Both episodes were available before the intended first airing.

It matters precisely 0% that it's been announced, if the ratings continue to plummet they will cancel it.
Yea airing this on Saturday is super dumb.
Well then, Bruce and Lucy Lawless are on Late Show and immediately dropped the story behind her character on the show. It is a fun interview, but just be aware of a big spoiler about her if you are sensitive about it.
But totally worth it for the story about the viscera cannon and Bruce doing his Colbert impression.
