Just woke up (it's morning here). Anyone feel like giving me a TL
R brief rundown of what's going on in here?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.
I already stated in this thread that I can understand some of the critcisms. That's not hypocrisy, I didn't say that every who thinks it's super downgraded is wrong, I did however point out some of the hyperbole.Grimløck;136933621 said:it's not irrelevant if you can't make the same allowances to posters who are shitting on how this game looks, which you obviously can't as evidenced by this thread's creation. it clearly demonstrates your hypocrisy and bias, and your words and defense have little weight.
Yup. Which means gamers as consumers should be louder then ever. Otherwise it will get worse.
Just as we now have exclusive DLC content within DLC packages. Consumers need to speak up, even more so when these companies are making bank.
I feel like this is the only place I see people upset they buy games they enjoy. The worst part is I'm a part of the problem. As much as Ubi pisses me off I love their games. Ugh
It's hard to even respect those people. The most laughable thing I've seen is people lazily "protesting" Ubisoft by buying their games used or discounted. They don't have the fortitude to simply not open their wallets at all, because it's so hard not to buy a video game.
I'll show you Ubisoft...by playing your game?

He answered to you, Gaf. (it isn't really related to the game and doesn't want to fight on the technical issues though)

Jeez at this point this marketing is becoming obnoxious.
Curious how all the "leakers" have been French.

No one plays assassins creed for good gameplayIt's ironic how in the 'one image that summarizes modern gaming' people acted like developers only care about graphics and not substance. And now people are skipping this game because of seemingly subpar IQ and stuffs.
Besides the character assassination of myself due to a mod giving me this title months ago, multiple thread derails, etc, the leaker clarified that the game does not look as bad in person as it does in the screenshots, other leakers have given their impressions as well. And now the leaker would like gaf to ask questions about the game.Just woke up (it's morning here). Anyone feel like giving me a TLR brief rundown of what's going on in here?

I never said that the screens were facebook uploads. The videos he posted were using the facebook upload though.
He wasn't using the USB method. The USB method looks much better than the direct upload method. Come on now, that was established months ago.
It really doesn't.Crossing Eden

Oh, sarcasm or not it starts making some sense.

And in the other thread you were claiming the video looked better than the screenshots!I never said that the screens were facebook uploads. The videos he posted were using the facebook upload though.
It's a 720p youtube video of one of the leaked facebook videos. It certainly shows off impressive looking visuals despite the compressions and a way more stable framerate than last month's xb1 footage. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=32NLNaz6R_c
And shows that the game looks better in motion than in these blurry screenshots.
It's confirmed that the ps4 wrecks the screenshot quality. Which is something that many people knew, but forgot. Making a new thread about this.
I said that he didn't use the facebook method, considering that he uploaded the videos through facebook I assumed that he didn't use the USB method for screenshots.Am I missing something here? You said his images weren't USB uploads and blamed PS4s "shitty" screenshot function. (Shin-Ra proved they were actually USB uploads, correct?).

Oh, now this is ironic because I remember you, OP, before the launch of Infamous:SS...you constantly berated the game and claimed it was downgraded in what seemed like most Infamous:SS articles over at N4G. You even cherry-picked off-screen, heavily compressed, shrunk down shots to try and prove that the downgrade had occurred.
http://n4g.com/news/1461484/troy-baker-infamous-second-son-looks-amazing-gives-details-on-delsins-good-and-evil-paths#c-8920058
So I'm wondering why you're so hell-bent on this defending this game against claims of it being downgraded, when it clearly has been, when you were more than happy to bash Infamous every chance you got?
Because imo that video showing the game in motion and climbing notre dame puts the game in a much better light than those screens. But then again many games look better in motion than in screenshots like Driveclub. And in the other thread you were claiming the video looked better than the screenshots!
Damn, you're a crafty one.
Nope, framerate isn't locked either. So if your pc can handle it you can play it at a higher framerate then people like myself who're buying the console version. So is the PC version of ACU locked to 900p?
I said that he didn't use the facebook method, considering that he uploaded the videos through facebook I assumed that he didn't use the USB method for screenshots.

Idk if he used the USB method. I don't see anyone mentioning it though on the forum with a quick skim through, although I don't understand French and am not translating every single post.I see, so there is no excuse why the images are that blurry? It isn't anything to do with FaceBook/Twitter compression if he used USB method (although they don't produce perfect shots, they wouldn't be blurry unless the game its self was).
The worst part is I'm a part of the problem. As much as Ubi pisses me off I love their games. Ugh
It's a translation from a french forum. Not super surprising that a French person would be hyped about an AC game in France.
Because the response from the pretty much ignored in the other thread. So what was the point of starting yet another thread underpinned by someone who is obviously biased?
I wonder if the mission design will be creative and fresh this time around, and not just the same old locate>tail>kill>escape formula? I can play the game if it's a little ugly or blurry, but I can't take any more of that tired, boring mission deign.
Mission structure has also changed. Or, to put it more directly: missions no longer have a set structure. In previous games, youd be given a defined set of goals. Youd achieve them, or youd start over either at the beginning of the mission or at an appropriate checkpoint. Assassins Creed Unity introduces something called Adaptive Mission Mechanic (AMM) which is exactly what it sounds like.
To explain AMM, Amancio lays out a typical scenario from previous games. Lets say youre tailing a Templar target; if you get spotted, the mission might be over. Thats no longer the case. Weve opted for a different philosophy where we wont tell you Tail this guy, Amancio says. Well just maybe tell you Figure out where hes going. That means you can tail him if you like and if you get spotted, the tail could turn into a chase. If you lose him altogether, your goal switches to locating your target. If a riot happens to break out and your target is killed, then you can loot his body to, say, find a letter that tells you where hes going. So its really up to the player to figure out how hes going to do this, Amancio says.
Of course, theres much more to AMM than this. Itll never be as simple as choosing the easiest path (i.e., killing every target and looting their bodies) because that could have serious repercussions in the world. If a guy is missing, maybe theyre going to double up patrols in your next mission. So theres a risk. It evens itself out.
Huh, I didn't know that apparently the missions get harder depending on if the player chooses non lethal or lethal methods. First time i've heard of that actually. From Ubiblog
Yes and no. Tail missions are still in, but if you're spotted the mission turns into a chase, and if you lose the target it becomes a search.I wonder if the mission design will be creative and fresh this time around, and not just the same old locate>tail>kill>escape formula? Haha, oh man. Reading through this thread I finally found the first person I'll put on my ignore list. Congrats - biggest idiot I've seen all week.
AC:U 7 min free roam gameplay from one of the french leakers

People pop-in... Uh.
Is it just me or is there a bright light that comes and goes? Is it part of the game?
The buildings cast huge shadows. There's no day and night cycle so the sun is always in the same place. There's dynamic weather that affects the amount of sunlight. If you're referring to the "ghost of Arno" that appears twice then that's just the new stealth system, a ghost of you will appear after enemies lose sight of you showing your last known location, like in splinter cell.Is it just me or is there a bright light that comes and goes? And fucking LOL at that latest wall of text, damage control-a-ton from this guy. Why do we need to know his life story? Why does he need to spew that "c'mon guys, let's just enjoy the game, visuals aren't everything!" garbage?
We know that games can still be fun without them looking amazing. But that's not the issue here. We were shown the game months ago, and it looked amazing...now we have seen the game again, and it doesn't look as amazing. That's the issue here. Ubisoft continuously lies to our faces.
The ghost thing? (That pops out of his butt about 50 seconds in?).
What are the assassination mechanics you're referring to? Just all of the different methods you can kill someone?I actually enjoy the assassination mechanics quite a bit and I like the whole "blackbox" mission design in Unity.... is this just a pile on of snarky remarks because people want higher rez and more shadows?

I was disappointed in the ACU resolution when the news broke, but I didn't care all that much. I only got pissed off when Ubisoft tried to tell me that Resolution and framerate don't matter, treating people like idiots is their biggest mistake here.
My hype for ACU is ruined, I'll only be getting it close to release if the reviews are ridiculous. Mordor has stolen it's thunder.
