Batman v. Superman RT Thread: like standing ovations in rain

Aww man. This sets the tone for a ton of other DC movies I'd be more interested in (Shazam, Flash etc) so I was hoping this would turn out reasonably good. :/
Every line of dialogue in the movie could be worth contemplating but the actual events and themes of the movie would still be completely depressing.

Complete synopsis what I gathered in the spoilers thread:
Everyone hates Superman. Superman dies.

Shazam aint gonna happen.

I have zero interest in Zootopia.
But I probably should've watched it over BvS.

Hell, I would've watched TFA over BvS, AND I HATE THAT MOVIE

My buddy was in town a few weeks ago and he really wanted to catch a movie and we ended watch Zootopia for the sole reason that it had 99% on RT. We had been comparing RT scores of every other movie playing and almost settled on the Witch 'cause it had the highest when I looked up Zootopia as a joke and well...

It was a good movie. Our biggest take away though was that the rabbit was weirdly sexy

Honestly, after reading a lot of these reviews, I am stunned as to how low the scores are.

I mean in the end it doesn't matter. Majority of the people that are going to go see this movie are going to go anyway.

After last nights screening, everyone clapped and cheered. For the most part the Fans enjoyed the movie, and at the end of the day, that's what counts. I can not wait to take my family to go see it again this Thursday.

I would highly recommend it.

Meh, we got DeadPool already, this one should probably go straight to DVD.
We still got Suicide Squad to look forward to

but winter soldier was Marvel trying to emulate Chris Nolan though with a more serious and grounded tone.

They did a damn good job too until the mandatory dull CGI fest final battle. If only the film had the balls to have ditched that and keep the action scenes smaller and tighter right to the end.

Wow, they really need to get rid of Zack Snyder. I don't know what it is with DC but I just don't like anything they are doing, comics wise or in film.

Damn, didn't expect it to be so mixed. I haven't been keeping up with this movie at all (since I haven't really been interested), but I thought they'd make sure to make a good movie after MoS. I'll still check it out, but probably not in theaters.

I am more of a Marvel guy, but I hope WB and DC are successfully financially with this movie so that they can proceed with the rest of their slate. Not interested in Aquaman, Wonder Woman, and Cyborg solo outings but I would like to see Justice league movies in the vein of the animated series.

Nolan didn't invent "serious and grounded" and it hardly was trying to emulate him at all. TWS is nothing like Nolan's Batman in action or tone. What a weird thing to say.

If anything, they are closer to Bourne and stuff like that.

Well FUCK ME! I honestly had a dream the other night that the movie was getting a solid 60%-70% and rolled outta bed thinking that was what I was gonna see...

But now, oh dear oh dear IT IS MOS ALL OVER AGAIN

ZACK SNYDER THE GOD STAYS MESSING WITH EVERYONE'S MINDS

I think it'll even out with a score similar to Man of Steel in the end. It would be great if it could break 50 or surpass Man of Steel's score, but shit, I don't know at this point. I'm curious to see the full articles of some of those critics who tweeted early positive reviews.

I'm seeing the movie in about 12 hours, so I guess I'll know for sure by then.

FUCKIN' SNYDER

I'm watching it in 3 more hours or so. I have my doubts since the beginning (when they announced Wonder Woman), but the score can go minus and it still won't stop me watching Batman and Superman on the big screen.

Its alright. Age of Extinction is by far the best one though. I'm serious.

The second half of Dark of the Moon is the only good stretch of Transformers because I think there's maybe 15 lines of dialogue in total from the humans and the action sequences are fucking marvelous along with amazing music. Basically stuff that Bay is actually good at and mostly without the shitty things that always seem to invade what he's good at.

The rest of the franchise is a clogged outhouse commode.

for me personally im pretty sure I'll like the film, loved MoS action scenes so if it can keep that up im good, unless every other scene is the same level of crap as the MoS tornado but that would almost be impressive.

Personally part of the issue I feel is suspension of disbelief across multiple improbable characters.

You put Batman and some foes into a dark film and it can work (character is fairly dark in principle although as Adam West proved he can be a hoot too) but put Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, etc. etc. in a film and unless you're hardcore into comics that's a lot to swallow and take seriously. Hence a little humour and a certain level of knowing jokes helps the audience as Marvel formula has shown.

So yeah I agree, aiming to make multiple dark films with an essentially improbable crew of colourful comic book characters is a challenge. I'm sure it can be done but I'm going to be flat out honest and note I don't believe Snyder or the writers involved thus far have remotely close to the talent required to pull that off.

Nolan might have been able to but he's on to other stuff now. Either way I think WB is going to struggle pushing everything in this direction particularly if they don't start securing better talent for the job.

Even outside the directing and writing, the actors are mostly terrible too. Nolan had Bale, Caine, Oldman, Neeson, Ledger, Hardy & Morgan Freeman for fuck sake.

I will fight anyone on this but Transformers 1 was legit good. A great Bay film.

TF1 is like Assassin's Creed 1

It's like, this is a flawed but enjoyable product with a lot of potential. I'm excited for the sequel because the problems are obvious and if they fix those, it's going to be fantastic.

But nope, they just doubled down on the flaws

I think I'll watch it, as I intended to, and not allow critics to think for me or sway my mind in any way. You guys coming out with your pitchforks should see the film for yourselves before claiming that the film is crap. The film may very well be terrible or you just may enjoy it but you owe it to yourself to see it before judging it. Also some critics seem to condemning it simply because it doesn't fit the mold of a Marvel movie by not being needlessly funny. It seems more admirable that the movie attempted to be its own thing rather than attempting to replicate Marvel's formula and I think the subject matter should be taken seriously. DC typically has a darker tone than Marvel works so it's refreshing to see that making its way into the film.
If the movie looked interesting to me beforehand, then I wouldn't care what the reviewers said, but this looked awful from the start and the reviews have confirmed what I was already expecting.

At least in the first one you could tell which giant colored metal blob was which.
