Nolan was the only one to do a DC superhero justice. And directors keep failing to understand that that was because of the villain being so well acted.

There are still more reviews though...

We live in Bizarro world.

Yes. There are still more reviews. That is why he posted that the percentage moved. Because he realizes that reviews are still coming in.

Is your intention to squash rottentomatoes discussion on a thread about review scores until "all the reviews" are in?

I have zero interest in Zootopia.
But I probably should've watched it over BvS.

Hell, I would've watched TFA over BvS, AND I HATE THAT MOVIE

I don't if people in this thread have low self esteem or easily peer pressured, but I won't let anybody sway me of what I should watch or do in life. I'll talk others opinions in considerations but I'll form my own and then compare them. Still seeing this movie Thursday night!

Sure was a lot of comedy in those Nolan Batman films. must be why critics hated them.

Oh wait...

Batman Begins was full of banter between Bruce & Alfred as well as Batman & Gordon. Dark Knight had black comedy with the Joker. TDKR...hmm I've got nothing, the choreography and phoned in ending were pretty funny I guess.

Early reviews are usually more glowing than later ones aren't they?

Not always, but generally yes. It depends on how the reviews come out and who was screened early.

The most common scenario I see is "bloggers" and fans getting early peeks and as a result you have the kind of 'less critical' reviews first. That is, the ones that seem to come from smaller publications and maybe buy into the hype a little bit.

Then eventually the big guns from Variety, EW, Guardian etc come out and yes, skew lower and bring down the score.

However in this case we're seeing a lot of mainstream reviews right off to bat so this RT% could go either way, or stay where it is. 27 still isn't a huge sample, Jurassic World started pretty low and ended up climbing to 70%

lol No, but waiting for more reviews to improve upon what already been saids it fools gold.

The sad thing is I thought he did.....I mean that's what the reports were saying.

Goddamit...this is one of the most depressing days ever.

I never understand how Affleck can star in such shit films when he can direct good films, wouldn't watching someone direct him on Gigli make him want to low him own brains out?

I was pretty excited for this, and still am. I don't particularly like Synder so I have my hopes in check. But I've yet to enjoy any version of Bruce Wayne on screen (Really dislike the Nolan films because of that) so I'm mostly happy if Ben Affleck is better as Bruce than anyone else has been.

Honestly, after reading a lot of these reviews, I am stunned as to how low the scores are.

I mean in the end it doesn't matter. Majority of the people that are going to go see this movie are going to go anyway.

After last nights screening, everyone clapped and cheered. For the most part the Fans enjoyed the movie, and at the end of the day, that's what counts. I can not wait to take my family to go see it again this Thursday.

I would highly recommend it.

Breathe Bronson, I know your still scarred from TFA, but it will be ok.

I'm not even scarred, that shit was just boring. BvS has higher highs and lower lows, so TFA wins on the law of averages

BronsonLee, what are you doing, I thought you enjoyed BvS. YOU TOLD ME YOU ENJOYED IT.

Looks like I'm the chosen one now!

watch zootopia bronson, it's great

Just don't go looking too deep for any images related to the film.

But
what
...ew

The Nolan movies worked but they were still dark and heavy. You can't really base the entire DC universe on that feel. Overall the balance of lighter tone with some darker material that the Marvel universe has so far explored is going to work out better.

Personally part of the issue I feel is suspension of disbelief across multiple improbable characters.

You put Batman and some foes into a dark film and it can work (character is fairly dark in principle although as Adam West proved he can be a hoot too) but put Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, etc. etc. in a film and unless you're hardcore into comics that's a lot to swallow and take seriously. Hence a little humour and a certain level of knowing jokes helps the audience as Marvel formula has shown.

So yeah I agree, aiming to make multiple dark films with an essentially improbable crew of colourful comic book characters is a challenge. I'm sure it can be done but I'm going to be flat out honest and note I don't believe Snyder or the writers involved thus far have remotely close to the talent required to pull that off.

Nolan might have been able to but he's on to other stuff now. Either way I think WB is going to struggle pushing everything in this direction particularly if they don't start securing better talent for the job.

"So that's what that feels like..."
