I can't figure out the tone of Suicide Squad yet.

First trailer was more dark and serious. Second trailer had more of a goofy, humorous, "Guardians of the Galaxy" type vibe.

I guess the next trailer will give us a better idea of the movie's tone.

Yeah. Shawshank is a good ass movie, but I wouldn't even put it in my top 50, probably. The list is just mired with a disproportionately large amount of fans of various series/directors voting 10/10 on their favorite movies with a dozen sockpuppet accounts.

I mean, apparently Chris Nolan directed 4 of the 50 best movies of all time in the last 10 years. Busy guy.

IMDb rating is honestly like the worst metric on the internet, including user ratings on both RT and MC. It's the epitome of ballot stuffing. Has been ever since Batfans went on a crusade to get TDK ranked over The Godfather for #1 movie of all time.

And even after the dust settled, it's still #4.

There are some screwups like TDK, but generally it's a good metric.
Also, thanks to TDK,the real #1 film of all times sits in the top now.

I thought the trailers for BvS seemed super average, and I'm not surprised that the movie is getting panned.

Suicide squad however is a different story. It's had excellent trailers that haven't revealed the whole plot, along with a far less depressing aesthetic. I think it'll do a lot better.

You've got fucking the two most popular comic characters in the world sans Spider-Man in the same damn movie. You are rolling with lex Luther as a top tier villain. Don't need to waste time on origins. The movie has to be kind good automatically because of all that.

To walk out the theater not entertained is a travesty of amazing Spider-Man 2 levels. Tons of good material in comics and they ruin it
