Batman v. Superman RT Thread: like standing ovations in rain

This whole week some of the cast of BvS will be doing the rounds on late night talk shows (i.e. Ben Affleck will be on Fallon sometime this week I believe). I wonder if they'll respond to reviews or reception to the film. Would they even be allowed to do so?

I don't know why you guys are putting so much stock in critic reviews to begin with. Film critics are just a bunch of stuck up snobs who only like bullshit art films like Deadpool.

Just the intro to Superman: TAS is pure brilliance, easily setting up Superman in like 15 seconds:

Why the fuck is he wearing bright red underwear over his pants? We're supposed to take that seriously?

I want the RT score to go down, I want the critics to make sure that Zach Snyder never comes close to a beloved franchise ever again.

Hosts will probably be told by handlers/PR people to completely avoid that kind of question. They'll open with the usual "I saw the movie, loved it." Regardless of whether it's true or not, that's always how these things are done.

Did you just call Deadpool an art film?

LMAO.

Edit: I think your trolling. Maybe. Possibly.

Goddamnit i wanted this to be good so bad. But ill still see it i actually like Snyder's work with Watchmen, 300 and even MoS. Also imagine if this was how the force awakens reviewed people would die.

They probably won't bring it up.

It won't come up. Reviews rarely ever do. The host will say they're excited to see it or they loved it, they'll show a clip and then it's a wrap.

Film critics don't like a snyder film? What a shock!
The imdb score is high, though, which to me is much more important than MC and RT.

IMDb rating is honestly like the worst metric on the internet, including user ratings on both RT and MC. It's the epitome of ballot stuffing. Has been ever since Batfans went on a crusade to get TDK ranked over The Godfather for #1 movie of all time.

And even after the dust settled, it's still #4.

rather that than the current #1, shawshank, imo.

that movie got the weirdest reputation as being "baby's first best movie of all time"

they should have went with the suicide squad idea. but this would mean rebooting superman again as well.

my batman v. superman movie would have them both already established. glimpses of bruce's history like that dead robin suit and maybe have him fight a regular mook villain like killer croc or some shit to introduce him.

superman is christopher reeve/captain america/tobey peter parker style nice guy too. not this existential mopey dude.

i dunno why they would fight or even if they would need to, but those details can be ironed out easily by any decent writer.

cut out the rest of the justice league cameos and any weird comic booky dream sequences. dump zack snyder too. great movie. pre-established history is the way to go for this universe, i'm totally cool with that tbh. but i dunno if this film went about that the right way at all. will see on friday.

Being so late to the party they have to do the pre-established route.

Only problem is that they've half assed it. Instead of making the forming of the JL your corp movie, make them an already extant entity, give each character a solo film to establish them and their domain, then get them together for the event in the JL movie.

Instead they're trying to do their own thing while also trying to do what Marvel did and it just doesn't work. It's to disjointed, to messy, and to bloated.

Damn, I was not expecting amazing things from this movie but was looking forward to it. I'll either see it tomorrow or tonight but I honestly did not expect it to be less liked than the TV DCU. Hell, the Lego Batman movie is looking more appealing right now...

yeah that's what i'm saying more or less. being late to the party could have been a blessing for them but they mucked it all up with the justice league apparently.

i think suicide squad will really benefit from this "20 years of bathistory" tho

If that's the case then I hope some cast/crew member somehow slips and gets real, no matter which way or the other they feel about the film or the creative process involvedo in making it.

Like when Josh Track or Miles Teller got real about their feelings on F4nt4stic and the reception it got.

Oh for sure Suicide Squad and the Batman stuff looks great.

Everything else...

But hey at least we might actually get a Batman movie where he gets to, you know, be Batman for once.

It would have been better if they moved up Aquaman and pushed back JL a bit.

Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman would have solo films before JL and Batman (needs the least solo time) headlines a film with Superman. Flash and Cyborg make cameos along the way and then team up for JL.

They wanted to differentiate from the Marvel formula by taking a slightly alternate path, but instead they differentiated themselves by being bloated shit that is taking itself too seriously.

I guess in the end they achieved that particular goal, because no one is mistaking them for Marvel right now, doubt they are happy with how they did it.

as a big fan of the character in books and cartoons i never really had a problem with burton or nolan takes. loved those films.

but yeah it will be nice to see a more resourceful batman now (i'm assuming he's smart in this..right?)

Yep. Instead they blew their wad too early because they wanted that sweet sweet Avengers money.

They won't respond. There's a lot of ways to fill a talk show spot without talk about reviews. ("I really enjoyed acting against xxxx", "when we filmed this action scene we xxxxx", etc)
