Batman v Superman Spoiler Thread: Don't believe everything you read, Son

For as impressive as Star Wars' secrecy was (and it was pretty impressive) the fact BvS isn't really spoiled more than it is maybe even more impressive.

Especially since the picture's basically been locked since last September.

There was a plot synopsis of The Force Awakens posted online 7 months prior to release that ended up being 90% accurate. Wasn't that impressive.

Apparently she goes into a warrior berserk. I've heard that from a few people actually. They say it's pretty awesome to witness.

I can dig that, but would have liked for Supes to eventually put him down for good. Ohh well, just one more week.

Are we getting that handshake....

So I've been reading around and think I found a real description of the movie. In it he describes the fight. If it is true then as a Superman fan I am more than okay with how it plays out. It might look like a loss but it's so in-character for this Superman (especially if the arc is done some justice up to this point) that I actually smiled while reading it. This is also the "even the most cynical will tear up" scene the guy from EW mentioned.

I think you are a Supes fan as much as I am and if you think is ok I will be too lol, I just dont want for them to depower Supes to make batman superior.

fake edit:

Oh damn you posted the summary, that sounds more like a stalemate more than a win, Im ok with that.

Quick question: I didn't see the pics before they were taken down, but by reading comments made here I was wondering if we actually see
Black Adam, and if we do is this our first appearance by Dwayne Johnson
or is it left up to our imagination?

We really don't know but it's easy to believe he makes an appearance since he was cast so early.

Sure it was. Script never leaked. Early cut never got out. Screens weren't getting out of the editing room. Nothing was being confirmed or denied, which made obfuscating the truth a whole lot easier (and definitely allowed for plausible deniability, which fans were eager to believe)

All we had was a coded shot list being interpreted by one source, who was half the time botching the descriptions on accident in an attempt to make the posts sound smarter than they were. That plus preproduction art.

That was it. For like, 2 years. Most anticipated film since Phantom Menace and nobody got shit out of it but a coded shooting schedule and some paintings.

Just because you learned some shit doesnt mean the lockdown still wasnt impressive. It was, especially considering the size of the picture.

And yeah, learning about the big death in that movie happened early, but much like the Doomsday situation here, it would have been (and was) easily guessed. And people still didn't believe right up until release date anyway.

The preproduction art came from disgruntled employees who were let go because production was taking a break due to Harrison Ford's injury, right? I always thought that was a dick move.

I believe that was the case, yeah.

Also, it seemed pretty likely yesterday that this reddit guy we're quoting on this page was (is) full of shit. I don't think that's changed.

99% of all "I saw an early cut AMA!" things are exercises in fanfic.

Why the hell would they kill Superman BEFORE they have even founded the Justice League?
Makes not a lick of sense.

Then again if he is written as badly as he was in Man of Steel perhaps it is for the best.

See that new Lex clip? Why would Supes go on and fight Batman if Lex is clearly instigating the battle beforehand?

Between that and the shot of him kneeling in front of Lex it's pretty clear that Luthor's got leverage.

I'm thinking that Lois and/or Ma Kent gets kidnapped at some point. The latter probably dies, which is where the funeral scene from the pictures comes from.

Are we talking about the same leak here? The only thing he got wrong was what item they were chasing around the galaxy.

Yes, we're talking about the same leak.

Trust me man, I got a decent idea of how the shit shook out.

Again, the fact you learned some shit doesn't mean the lockdown still wasn't impressive. especially compared to other films of the same size/anticipation levels. That's what I'm saying. Not that "nobody anywhere heard anything that was right." Just that the amount of stuff that has gotten out is not only not that big overall, but clouded just enough that people will voluntarily choose not to believe any of it and they're probably safe in doing so because nothing really got spoiled all that concretely.

The plot points were gleaned pretty quickly. And they weren't all 100% correct, anyway. But that's all anyone had was the basic plot. A lot of the characterization, the details, the feeling, the meaning, the ordering - hell, the design, the hows & whys of who does what? A lot of that was just guesswork and inference. That stuff never got spoiled concretely until the week of press screenings when publications were getting leaked and people were posting legit reviews.

What classic shot do you think Snyder has done?

Like Wedon did that spin around in The Avengers and the jump in snow in Age of Thong.

I think you can see the spear in the first teaser. Same scene the Riddler "?" appears.

Oh wow, didn't catch that.

I knew Batman would have something underneath his sleeve. It still sounds like they both get fucked up though. Everything I'm reading about WW sounds great.

My biggest concern was them making Superman a jobber in this movie. He was insanely powerful in the first film, but u felt like Snyder hasn't really nailed Supes character yet. I'm hoping he does it here cause it sounds like he's got Batman on lock. Not surprising from the guy who directed Watchmen.
