Batman v Superman Spoiler Thread: Don't believe everything you read, Son

Where does Khal Drogo fit in this movie? Atlantis seems out of place.

Specifics like that don't seem to be too clear still.

People seem to know that he has like, one or two scenes tops, but not how they fit into the film overall.

There's a lot about the movie that is still way up in the air.

It seems to basically go:

Batman was at Ground Zero.
Batman doesn't like Superman
Clark's looking into Batman
Clark doesn't like Batman.
Lex doesn't like Superman or Batman
Lex sets up their rivalry.
They fight each other

and somewhere in there:

Wonder Woman shows up
Lois Lane investigates some shit
There's a government hearing on Superman
Batman has a nightmare
Lex cooks up a Doomsday out of Zod's remains

Aside from that, the maybes:

Aquaman & the Flash show up briefly, Vic Stone appears once
Lex may or may not also have a power-suit.

I think this is about all that's generally known about the story of this film.

What city is that big ass omega symbol etched in? I mean Darkseid fucking up an entire city is just going to be giving the "MoS is destruction porn" people more fucking ammo

I thought the Shazam movie was going to be separate from the Justice League ones. Or was that a rumor?

Apparently the slate is intended to all be in universe, at least that's what the DC blog said. It was kind of a surprise announcement at an investor's conference. I'm hoping we hear more about it at SDCC, they've been pretty silent on the film. Cyborg and Shazam are the two films that have the weakest fanbase on their slate, so I'd think DC would try to cross promote them with other movies.

IMDB pro was updated with the official cast list and a few actors weren't credited like Momoa & Miller. I don't believe those rumors that he'll show up at the final battle. I know Verendus didn't bother having him listed as a minor character.

That's part of the nightmare I was talking about up there. It's this movie's version of Clark disappearing into a giant pile of skulls.

It's okay when the villains do it, mostly. Besides, it's supposed to be a Bad Future (probably).

Bobby, do we actually know that it's Bruce's nightmare? Last I'd heard we still had nothing to go on about what the hell it is exactly.

It's been 100% confirmed that Aquaman is in this. The photo of him in costume only exists because it was part of this film's production. He's even been included in the merchandise for the film, as part of the Funko POP! line.

Gotham. You can see Wayne Manor in one of the shots.

I'm guessing Aqumans role is in the future scene. Prolly Flash, Cyborg and him getting stomped on by Darkseid. Maybe a couple of other scenes to justify the merchandise for him only.

Yeah I'm saying that his role won't be anything significant. I'm guessing Knightmare like Barry or maybe even the rumored Metahuman prison.

We've been talking about the knightmare as it's one long sequence. What if it's something that's split up over the movie from different character's point of views? It could show Superman's descent into a dictatorship and the world falling apart, culminating in Darkseid appearing.

I thought Miller was all but confirmed to be in it?

No way Darkseid destroys gotham in the final movie, bruce will probably try and prevent that. I mean no gotham, no batman.

Embargo until the 22nd I thought

Pretty sure that's right.

Unless they lift it early due to critical response being better than expected.

You're absolutely right, it should probably go in the "maybe" column because not only do we not really know what the nightmare is all about, we don't really know who's it is, and how it works in the film.

Confirms certain scenes...

Yeah, I don't know about that... TDK is by far the best comic book movie ever made and for me one of the best movies I've ever seen. It was many types of genres in one that had a comic book element, unlike many movies that are comic book movies that sprinkle other elements (poor description on my part?).

We'll see though.

Supposedly, that Reddit post had small things right, but was overall very inaccurate. Which I could tell was the case when an "updated" version hit IMDB with a bunch of info from trailers.
Not going by the leak but this:

"The likening of Henry Cavill’s Superman to a self-righteous military interventionist continues when he rescues Amy Adams’s Lois Lane from a reporting trip gone wrong in Africa. He is blamed for more collateral damage there. "

Source: Wall Street Journal

He has no problem saving Lois Lane but he couldn't save all those people he murdered in Metropolis in Man of Steel.

Those people don't sleep with him, so I'm with Supes on this one. Most of those people were probably assholes anyway.

We should start a tally on how many times Lois is saved in these movies. I'm pretty sure it was at least three times in Man of Steel just by Supersauce. Then we've got both Supersauce and Buttman saving her in BvS. Each time she's saved, someone else dies.

Who is Lois Lane and why is everyone always saving her? I feel like this is a bad sign. There are only so many lives you have. Even cats only have nine.

Doesn't stop them from being assholes.

Jup, when you take out thousands of people chances are a lot of those were assholes. Maybe some good ones in there too but ehh, gotta break a few eggs something something.

Not saving people is not the same as killing them, Nolan's Batman told me so in BB.

I mean... at least Superman is all tuckered out from stopping the world engine from killing every single human being and chasing Zod around. Batman was just like "nah, I'm out" in Begins.
