In conclusion think that touch screen is almost guaranteed and giving the nature and purpose of the trailer that motion gaming has a very good chance of happening in the end.
Yeah. If we assumed everything we didn't see in the intro video was really missing, we'd also have a system with no OS or home menu.

I wouldn't expect touch control to be a large thing on this. Games should work in all modes, so touch controls can only be optional (for inventories and such?). But concepts like elite beat agents is not something for this machine.
I wonder if Nintendo's supposed insistence that everything work well when docked will fade away as does their facade about this being primarily a home machine. If in a year or two they start to phase the 3DS out, they'll have to choose between letting touch-dependent games exist, telling them to get bent, or forcing devs to implement awful alternate control methods.

The local co-op scenes don't seem realistic; the screen is just too small for comfort. Could this be Nintendo's reason for the holographic projection R&D/patents they've been doing.
Let's wait to see what the orange port does.

The only possible complaint is that "Switch" sounds a bit mundane, but compared to what. The dynamic and powerful names of the "4" or the "1"?
I think if there were some other word paired with Switch it would sound more like a game console we're familiar with. Stealing from real examples: PlaySwith, XSwitch, DreamSwitch, GameSwitch. Personally I vote for DipSwitch, which we control with Dip-Cons and analog Dip-Sticks.

does this thing have a camera on the back???
Doesn't seem so.

You have to wonder though. Doesn't Nintendo realize there are gamers who want a console with power?
Sure. But they might also realize what they'd have to do to woo them from PS4 and/or Xbone and/or PC is more trouble than it's worth.

So now I'm wondering was resolution this thing will render games at when plugged into the dock. Surely 1080p. Surely?
It should vary by game as with most systems. But it should be better able to do 1080p than Wii U was.

Thoughts on backwards compatibility with DS/3DS since there are carts?
Still incompatible hardware. I'd expect to see some of them show up on Virtual Console, though, especially where vertical orientation of the screens isn't important.

What kind of storage is this thing using? SD Cards? How are they going to support 3rd Party games if the games won't fit on the cards?
You can get a 64 GB SD card for about $20 today, probably less 5 months from now.

Hmmm 32 GBs is a little small for most 3rd party games, I suspect downloading textures and stuff online like XB X will be necessary...
Xenoblade X didn't let you download new things that weren't already on the disc--it just let duplicates of them be put where they could load quicker. If a game really can't fit in 32 GB, there's no reason to believe larger won't be possible.
