Bethesda E3 2015 Showcase Thread: Please Stand By

How will ZeniMax/Bethesda's conference go?

Why would Sony and Microsoft need to step their game up after this? They're not competing with their third-party partners. Almost everything they showed tonight is coming to PS4 & Xbox One.

I'm talking about the contents presented in the conference, not what game they'll have.

Sony and MS tends to front load theirs with the boring tv services and sales talk.

What a great way to kick off E3. As somebody rightly observed, the other publishers should step up their game. Have you seen that Doom footage? God, I felt like a teenager again, slashing through hords of demons and shooting every hellish creature on sight...FUCK YEAH!

This conference was great. To me personally Doom and Fallout were amazing and everything in the middle was just meh, but I loved the pacing and tone and the show as a whole. GG Bethesda.

Fallout was brilliant and, barring any major surprises, likely to be my game of show.

Didn't really care about anything else.

Still, as a show, I'd say this was a good start. Minimum PR business-centric annoyances, and Todd Howard felt very down-to-earth.

Nintendo's stuff today was really good as well, so a good start to E3 all around. I'm not expecting most other conferences to impress me as much as this first day has, but I'm interested to see.

Wait. Pipboy special edition hardware is built to fit iphones only??

Come the fuck on. Tell me that's not true. Please. Someone.

Todd specifically mentioned how it was built to fit the player's phone and that the app created for it to replicate the in-game pipboy was for iPhone and Android.

He never specifically stated Shelter was coming for Android (and people think it's exclusive based on how Todd said they worked with Apple), but the pipboy and its app are definitely coming to Android. I assume it'll use some sort of sliding bracket to grab any phone below a certain size.

The show fell flat if you ask me for a first time. I guess there wasn't anything overly bad for a first time but it was just rather unimpressive. They really didn't have enough announcements to really seem a shoe necessary.

FO4 crafting seems cool, world looks fairly good, but characters and combat still look sub-par. Could be redeemed for me by interesting story telling, but kind of seems they're doubling down on fiddly open systems. But... I guess that's just their thing, so more power to them.

I think the characters will be as unremarkable and poorly animated as usual, but I think the combat will be reasonably good if not great. It was fun in Fallout 3, and an improved vats system combined with a larger pool of toys (JETPACKS) will keep it entertaining to play throughout, even if you don't delve into the customization options.

I'm stupid excited about it though because of the systems they've integrated this time. I think these kinds of tweaking options and world malleability are a necessary addition to open world games, and even though they'll be dumbed down they add so much replayability to the game.

November can't come soon enough for me.

Good show, despite not being interested in Doom, Elder Scrolls, battlecry.

It did help Fallout 4 look like a better game to me, but still may not get it, maybe if I don't have any other games to play I'll try it out. But this game does belong to the genre of games that can completely sway my opinion with certain features.

Dishonored 2 looks interesting.

So even though I pretty much was not interested in nearly all the games they showcased, I still wasn't bored. Well done. They were solid games, just not my thing.

So what kind of deals might we be able to expect for PS4/XB1 around Black Friday? Gotta get me a new console.

E3 is off to a Fantastic start.

Also, Beth knows how to do a conference, even though it's their first.
When the lowest point, IMO, is "We're making a launcher", The other publishers are gonna have some trouble with the old E3 Conference Brinkmanship :)

Overall pretty happy with the conference, they showed a lot of game stuff, some very nice points. Fallout 4 looks excellent.

Overall it was a great conference. Battlecry and was the only hiccup really but mainly because the game looks terrible, derivative, and genuinely boring. Heartstone rip off was funny but some people like that sort of stuff so I'm sure it had its audience. Honestly everything else was great. Fallout Shelter was a cool little surprise and one I am terrified will bleed my wallet dry. Of course, Fallout 4 this year was an unexpected and most pleasant surprise to close out on. Lastly the figures for everyone in the audience was a cool gesture. Really solid conference. Well done Bethesda I dont think anyone could walk away from that feeling remotely disappointing.

- DOOM looks amazing, with some nice old school gameplay that will be most welcome
- Dishonored 2 will no doubt be great
- I am loving ESO and am excited seeing more stuff on the way for that
- And Fallout 4 is just, well:

Great job, Bethesda.

I think we will get a lengthy, varied, quirky list that will satisfy.

I'm sure we will, but that's also one of the things that help with setting the mood and get lost doing stuff in game. Like even on a ridiculous loop, it never even got stale. The list right now is icing on the yellow cake.

Fallout, Doom, and Dishonored were never my thing. And with FFXIV being my MMO of choice funnily enough the Hearthstone bandwagon game has me the most interested. Would be more attached to Elder Scrolls lore than Warcrafts if they make the game a fun little thing.

Just to double check, we didnt get any sort of release timeline for Dishonored 2 right? At least I don't remember seeing a date or anything. Probably a long ways off.

Also was reaaallly glad to see Todd Howard...dis motheafucka is BOSS as fuck.....always like that man... still makin amazing games :)

I don't mind downloading even more if they can't fit them all on the disc. Lol
