BioWare Rules Out Any Dragon Age: The Veilguard DLC (shifted entirely to the next Mass Effect as their current project)

BioWare has revealed it won't be releasing any post-launch DLC or expansions for its new PS5 release Dragon Age: The Veilguard, as the developer has now shifted all its attention to the next Mass Effect game. During a deep dive interview with Rolling Stone, creative director John Epler confirmed the shift in focus.

"With Dragon Age: The Veilguard now complete, BioWare confirms that there are currently no plans for downloadable expansions. The developer's full attention has now shifted entirely to the next Mass Effect as their current project."

Add to that "artists" responsible for character design, ppl responsible for combat system, and for overall game's corridor design including really bad puzzles, and leadership who aproved all that shit too.
Coders/programmers tho- they solid just like in concords game.
As well as anybody who was involved with those horrible facial animations

They are really throwing this one under the bus. Even the fact that they're so much as mentioning Mass Effect during the launch window is unusual. Plus a couple of days ago the Mass Effect director literally said out loud "don't worry ME won't look like Veilguard"

Can’t wait to play as Babysitter Shepard from the Alliance Mental Health Squad, flying around the galaxy and listening to my crew talking about their feelings and helping them to become comfortable in their own skin and be nice to each other.
The galaxy is at risk of getting invaded or destroyed but one of the characters in the ship, a man with a wig and some lipstick saying "IT'S MA'AM"

Maybe you can help your space ship’s AI determine which gender pronouns it prefers to be addressed with.
You have a list to scroll through of 3,462 so far. More will be updated as paid DLC. Others unlocked through side quests about its self discovery, none of which have a satisfying ending. You are left feeling incomplete.

Which begs the question, "Am I the A.I.?"

"Let's just move on" tactic

Works like a charm.

Warner Bros and Rocksteady in hindsight should have made the same play. Sucks for them they went for the live service route and had obligations.

i want to be happy for a new mass effect. but it will just have the same issues as the new dragon age.
i guess it is best to have low expectations.

Writes a lot, says very little
So greedy EA doesn't want to waste any resources on it anymore? It's pretty much an official confirmation for the game underperforming.

You didn't get any DLC from Dead Space Remake or Star Wars Fallen Order or its sequel and that Squadrons game also didn't get DLC

I don't know if I'd call something like this some wild conclusion of success or failure as why disregard them doing this during this generation? I mean, you don't really have any DLC type thing with 2042 as all the content within the game is free similar to BFV

https://screenrant.com/dead-space-remake-no-microtransactions-ea-motive/

So look...before I jump down any wild claim, I must look at what EA is CURRENTLY doing before trying to sum this up to success or fail. EA this gen and even last gen has been altering how the do all of that.

edit BG3 must have failed big time lol No DLC, praised

No DLC here "worry" and or "concern" lol

Imagine EA of all companies has been doing this and instead of seeing it as a good thing the past few games, its now being used to attack the publisher.... So I don't know if some of you are even REALLY against DLC or just use it to argue about shit lol

Giant tentpole RPG franchise release
A decade in development
Paid reviews mention "if this is the last Dragon Age..."
Immediately discontinue work on content

How bad are the internal sales projections guys? Holy shit. The clips I've seen since launch are just shocking. How can a company the size of EA invest so much in this type of product? If this game doesn't break even, shareholders have the right to be livid. This was easy money in the bank. All they had to do was nothing. Just make a regular ass RPG game and ride the BG3 hype. But nope. We get this.

Mass Effect and Elder Scroll fans at this point should just make peace with the fact that Bioware and Bethesda just doesn't have it in them anymore. Studios don't make games, devs make games, and the talented devs that worked on those games are simply gone, retired or in other firms now. Whoever replaced those devs just ain't it. You can't expect them to put out worthy sequels to their legendary games anymore. They can only make mediocre things like Fallout 76, Starfield, Andromeda or Veilguards now.

Cherish the old games, try to enjoy the new games and IPs from other talented devs. Don't get your hopes up for the sequel.

You can't expect 60 years old Magic Johnson and Larry Bird to come back and play in today's NBA, just like you can't expect these two studios to put out worth sequels to their legendary games anymore. The talented devs that worked on those games are simply gone.

Bethesda’s Elder Scrolls VI and Fallout 5 should be more than fine with sells since they were always several times larger than Mass Effect and Dragon Age with only GTA VI being bigger.

They will likely sell, but don't expect it to be as good as the old classics. Starfield, despite all its mediocrity, also sold pretty well.

But no one will talk about Starfield as the iconic RPG of an era like they talked about Skyrim. It'd very likely be the same for ES6 and Fallout 5 as well.
