Black Myth: Wukong | OT | IGNorant Ape

I tried the trial on my pro and both balanced and performance just didn't quite hit. Quality mode with strong motion blur but max sharpness on my 120hz vrr 4k tv seemed good and fluid.

Will perhaps pick this or Raidou up tomorrow. Will see.

This is one of the single shittiest over hyped games ever made.

The fact you can get stun locked into oblivion automatically dismisses it from being a relevant game above a 5/10. The clones cock block you from being able to do damage making it a worthless spell. The lock on system fucks up far too frequently to even list all its issues.

The combat is mindless and repetitive to make the player aware you're just doing the same shit over and over and over. It's brain dead. Dodging is unreliable every single time you do it.

5/10. I don't see myself even finishing this and I'm on chapter 6 the last chapter.

Just had enough of this games unpolished turd to grind it out. It's also a technical performance disaster on console.

Glad china supported it because it'd be a failure otherwise.

Fuck. This game is fucking good. This boss on chapter 3 vs the dragon lady in red, on a giant turtle, with the ocean and mountains as the backdrop. 10/fucking 10 WOW

This game has the most satisfying perfect dodge of all time too. The sound effect. The clone. FUCK.

The creativity of the boss designs. The variety of them all.

This game was ROBBED of GOTY last year

Ive tried everything. and to make matters worse. i watched a Youtube turorial on how to beat him, and this fucking Youtube guy playing beat him in 25 seconds :messenger_hushed:

You can cheese him using the spear with Thrust stance. Keep your distance and you can hit him easily with charged attacks. It takes a lot of patience, though.

When he does his fancy shit, use Cloud Step.

LMAO, welcome to everyone's world, he's usually the first "wall" that peeps encounter in the game - just you wait until you reach Erlang and the final, 3-phases boss, oh the fun that you'll have ! 🤣🤣

To answer your question, I finally beat him when I got the needle accessory - it's helpful AF in this specific battle as is the slow chip damage from a distance using the pillar stance during the 1st phase.
Another tip : after you drop his health to half, you'll have to get aggressive with him 'cause trying to keep a distance ain't gonna work that well.

Spam attacks, dodge when needed, spam needle, use the transformation power when he'll be down in health.

Unfortunately, this, Erlang and the final boss will require you to memorize attack patterns and know when to dodge, they can't be beat just by using an "OP" build from YT videos...

Good luck, you're gonna need it 😁

I beat the last boss on my first attempt and uploaded the video proof to YT, true story lol. And I never use guides on a first playthrough so it was just my instincts/skill/being "in the zone". I agree that Yellow Long and Erlang are a pain though.

Finally beat Yellow Loong. Holy FUCKKK it took me 2 weeks.

Now currently getting wrecked by Scorpion Lord. :messenger_hushed:

Top 5 hardest bosses So far:

1. Yellow Loong

2. Yin Tiger. (when you first fight him)
3. Wind Sage (without tamer)
4. Kang Jin Loong
5. Black Loong

FUCK all the Loongs.

I've beaten them all now though, I think this is necessary to get a specific ending no? (just say yes or no, no spoilers)

Wukong 2 on PS6 is going to be a goddamn masterpiece - I wlil play anything this studio does moving forward.

It's out on Xbox fucking finally, just when I increased my backlog even further, so I'm gonna wait. Anyway....

This guy is showing off the different visual modes and he prefers performance mode because it's mostly 60fps with dips here and there. When I get the game I probably will go for balance mode because it's just too soft in performance mode for me.

It's a shame that there is this weird judder or almost nauseous inducing effect in quality and balance mode. Can this be helped with the motion blur setting or barely? He said he's played it on PS5 too and visual fidelity is better on Xbox version.

People run into walls way before Yellow Loong. Here are the potential ones:

1. Wandering Wight
2. White-Clad Noble
3. Tiger Vanguard
4. Yellow Wind Sage
5. Cyan Loong
6. Yellowbrow
7. Yin Tiger

Those are all potentially extremely tough battles. From that list, I struggled mightily with Yin Tiger.

these are the best boss battles this gen. The animations are so fucking elite. Really takes the fights to another level

So this YouTuber says the game is mostly a boss rush game with smaller enemies here and there and to not expect locations like in other Soulslike games that you really want to explore and that the locations are fairly linear.

I know this about the beginning area, but doesn't it open up more later on? A good balance of exploration for items you need, smaller enemies and bosses is what I would find ideal.

DF report on the Xbox version:

Interesting what choices they made in this port; the Performance mode and all Series S modes have removed Lumen, letting the game run with a basic approach to lighting. Quality mode on Series X does have Lumen lighting and generally feature-parity, with some differences here and there. Some other choices about Framegen and resolution are worth looking at as well (if the tech aspects of this port interest you.)

It would have been good if the extra time on the Xbox version had resulted in a perfect port on Series X (and if the refinements could have been beneficial as well to PS5 in a patch using techniques they gained in a second console port,) but eh, both console ports still have some issues for those who are picky. If what you see works for you though, the Series X version seems mostly agreeable and the Series S... well, stream it to your Backbone phone.

Erlang is the second boss this gen where I really think to myself, Yea, maybe I just cant beat this guy. Him and the final boss in SIFU.

How the fuck am I supposed to fight this guy. Just a fucking machine with a seemingly limitless moveset.

His IQ is insane - Dodging my heavy attacks, takes me out of Cloud Step, makes a fuckign mockery of my Pluck of Many (freezes them all, then basically one shots them), knocks you out of your transformation, AND he is basically invincible towards Immobilze.

Best I've done is bring him down to around 20% health left. then he just goes insane
