Borderlands 2 |OT| Opening Pandora's Box (of Guns!)

IT bothers me that the dude asking about framerate is clearly sensitive to it and people are still trying to tell him to buy the game anyway by telling him he won't notice it or it doesn't exist. Like why do people want this dude to waste his money?

If he's oversensitive to framerate drops here and there he never would/should have bought a console. The fact remains that the framerate in the 360 version is solid almost all of the time.

That happened to me on one of the very first quests
where you fight the midget on the bullymong
. I was fighting him from one of the highest platforms and after I killed him the entire fortress respawned literally within a minute; I hadn't even walked down to the second level yet.

A cheesy way around that is to quit/save your game. When you reload it puts you at the fast-travel location.

What's the best weapon that can come out of the slots in Sanctuary? Anyone ever get anything good? I just blew like 2K on those damn slots. @_@

I've probably spent close to 30k on the slots. No great guns. But I hit the Euridium jackpot a couple times which makes it more than worth it. I'm at level 24 now and the price is over $700 per pull.

Different people have different standards.

I think that's a different issue in that in that quest, when bullymong spawns, more people spawn from the lower level. Not a reset of the earlier spawns.

I'm about level 20 now and there's been no framerate issues. Just remember where you are, and remember how things get blown out of proportion. The game runs great on the 360, and I'd imagine the same is true of the PS3 version.
I've heard "it runs great" before, on many games. It is hard not to be jaded and doubtful.
As long as you understand it is irrational more power to you. I would just hate to see a sane person read this and take it as truth. Next generation you should play all games on the PC for max frames per second!

I expect the worst and hope for the best. But too often (only) the first part comes true. If not on the technical side, then somewhere else. My problem is that i don't follow my rule strictly enough, could've saved money and time many times.
So, since people here suggest it may have framerate drops, i'll wait till DF analysis or something.
(I am skipping next generation consoles (well, if Halo 4 is good then i'll get a cheap NextBox around Halo 6 for it and Halo 5), so, some 6 years from now on).
On PC, i sacrifice framerate (till it is 30-35 FPS) for better graphics.)

I had a similar experience during that encounter except everyone spawned in the moment I opened the door. I guess I took a little too long opening all the containers / looking for chests.

No, it's scripted, it happens when you open his door.
Ah, maybe that was it.

Only a level 7 but so far I'm really enjoying it.
Amazing what a little environment variety does for ya.

Weapon management still pain in the ass though.

To be honest there has been some FR issues. But to me it is not jarring or bad enough for me to not play the game. It has happened maybe 2 times in the 8-10 hours that I have played.

Sniper Zero is not fun to play in groups. I really enjoy it solo, but thats because I can pick my shots. I can get a free kill when engaging groups and funnel them into firing lanes, but when people jump into action all my shots are obstructed and the movement is harder to predict to get clean head shots. And I miss out on all the loot drops.

Makes it really tempting to switch classes and get a better multiplayer class up and running while sticking to Zero for solo.

Oh, bitch bitch bitch.
Can anyone tell me the locations of the Tina bombs to disarm? I'm looking for one more and cant find it. Is it the one stuck up high in the metal overhang?

I'm about 95% sure that's not what happened. I killed all of the guys that spawned with the bullymong, at least all of them to the point that nobody was firing at me while trying to finish the boss off even though I was going from one edge of the platform to the other, but as soon as it was over I started getting attacked by mobs all over again that were only a staircase away (I couldn't even go in the room at the top to the vending machines because they were so close they ran in and started attacking me).

I had to fight the enemies to be able to reach the bullymong's item drops. I killed it at a fairly far range.

No game i've played has had so bad FR issues i couldn't play it but they affect the overall experience quite a bit.
Somehow it sounds like the FR issues are very situational, bad luck dependant.
Still, i feel i'd like to try this game somewhere somehow before getting this.
Co-op open world action is very appealing to me.

My coop buddy is retarded and went on even though I was trying to solve it, care to post the solution/reward?

You just fight another ratman named after
Splinter
, he didn't drop anything good for me. Not really worth doing the puzzle unless he has a cool random unique drop.

Have you tried switching to a melee build? My plan was to do that for group play and stick with sniping when I solo.

Wow, I'm about 13 hours through, just turned level 18 and witnessed a big plot moment that was super damn awesome.

Chapter 9 when Sanctuary is flying into the sky and Jack is hammering down missiles "What can you possibly have that makes you think you will survive?" Roland: "A Siren." Lilith: "Sup." And BAM! Everything disappears.

SO BALLER. I actually shouted "Fuck Yeah!" when that happened, and I NEVER blurt out things when playing games.

This game has me by the balls with its humor and general gameplay. Jesus, is this going to beat Diablo 3 for my GOTY?!?!

So how story extensive is this game? (i think i worded that right..)

I didn't finish the first Borderlands game but i'm guessing there will be plot spoilers that reference the first game? I won BL2 from a giveaway and i want to know before i jump in.

This game gets intense.
Rescuing Roland was an awesome quest
. It was so much fun battling the
robots and bandits
.

I just picked up this gun. Now I see why everyone wanted to get rid of it. Although the sadistic side of me wishes there was a challenge/achievement to rack up a certain number of kills with it.

Speaking of talking guns,
there's a mission for Hyperion that rewards you with a sniper rifle that hurls insults and criticizes you for being a murderer. Absolutely love it.

False. The game has noticable framerate drops on Xbox 360 in areas with a lot of enemies and a lot of action going on. It's not game breaking by any mean, but it's definitely present.

I generally don't get bothered by frame rate problems, but it does have some. Whatever you do don't use corrosive grenades because those cause some massive problems with the framerate.

The entire first game is summed up in the opening cut scene. Not much happened.

Didn't really get the love for the slots until I realized you have an 80% chance of winning, usually with a gun too. So you could technically make infinite money since you make more than you lose.

I did everything for the tea party besides get Fleshstick or whatever, because I quit the game upon getting it, and now it says I failed :/

As of now, I've spent over $30k on the slots (not counting what I sell from winning) and still have come out at a loss. I'm pretty sure you won't come out ahead, haha. I literally spend my money on nothing but the damn slots.

You might come out ahead if you were willing to part with some of the better stuff you win, lol.
I too am addicted to the slots, my first legendary came from the slots...

Which ones have you been doing? There is one in a LV22 area

that's on the back of an enemy you kill. Maybe it has a higher payout rate. I've made about 34k while spending about 30k. Didn't get any good weapons though.

The only thing that I got that was worth anything was 15 chunks of eridium.

Nine out of ten orphans can't tell the difference.
Teh Premiere Club. gives you a useless gold gun, a gold key and relic and free access to the mechromancer. idk how console is but pc it's already part of the game

Is there a place where I can find this gold key and relic?

BL2 has turned into a casino game with an FPS-RPG minigame.
