Wow.

The Jesper Kyd track 'Dam Top' from the OST is some of the best video game music I've ever heard, full stop.

Roland rescue mission spoiler

Holy shit @ the GUN Loaders' arrival on the scene. Fighting through all of those to get to the W4r D3n was nerve wracking. My only gun that could hurt them was a sniper rifle with electrical effects. Everything else I was carrying was fire... I thought I was gonna be killing nothing but bandits. I kept running out of ammo and those things kept coming and coming.

I'm glad there was a fast travel point at the entrance of the W4r D3n - I bailed to sanctuary and quit out of the game. I need a break.

Oh god I'm so sorry.

Did you travel back to Sanctuary before finishing the mission? That fast travel station is one way.

I'm glad you liked it so much, you'll have to do it again!

Oh AWESOME. :/

Actually, that's fine. When I go back I'll have the right gear for the job and it won't be so dicey.

Wasn't he the guy who did music for Freedom Fighters and Blood Money? Those games had some solid tracks as well.

Yes, that's him. He also did the soundtracks for Assassin's Creed 1, 2, Brotherhood, and Revelations.

Kyd and Amon Tobin (Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory) are responsible for nearly all of my favorite game music.

Spoilers for the battle against the boss of that area
when I was playing with my friends, I assume we took too long fighting the boss and it left and we had to fight it again in another location.

Finished the game tonight as Maya. Loved 99.9 percent of my first time through. The .9 were timed or escort missions. I loved all the main missions, and many of the side ones, but I eventually stopped doing the side missions because I was getting overpowered for the main missions. Final boss wasn't all that difficult, but I did die 3 times and have to kill an add to come back to life. Was pissed that I didnt get a single Yellow loot drop, but I immediately started on what the game calls the "real game" (new game+) and got a yellow drop right off the first boss encounter at the very start of the game. I can already tell it's going to be much harder the 2nd time, but I'm also already seeing a bunch of better guns.

So can anyone tell me if there are required time or escort missions in the Main Quest? And if so roughly how many will I be dealing with?

I've come across one timed side mission and I attempted it twice before giving up out of frustration and vowing to not take anymore timed missions again in this game. And I havent run across any escort missions yet so I'm hoping they are few and far between as well.

Such an awful concept when not executed perfectly.

Is the timed mission everyone is talking about the mailboxes? I played a Siren and even with using time to drive there, it was so freaking easy. Just run your ass through the enemies and deliver the packages and you'll be fine.

EDIT: I was about the level when you get the quest at the time. Don't remember what, maybe 13-15?

Hmmm... I was over leveled from doing all the side missions before progressing the main quest, but the difficulty spiked really quickly once I advanced the plot. I'm fooling around respeccing my Zero right now, but I think a lot of it comes down to my equipment being underpowered now. Sniping has gone back to being a necessity. It's sad, the shotgun I've been using was really rad, I don't want to replace it. It's like losing an old friend!

Zed gives you one later, probably the one people are mainly harping on.

As for the loot situation, they really did go out of their way to punish people who solo with shitty loot tables. I'm getting around it by using a memory hack program to fool the game into thinking there are 4 players -- let me tell you, it's been an eye opener seeing just how much better the loot drops are, especially off of Badass mobs. The game is not VAC protected.

Could you post whatever this memory hack is or PM me? I've also been playing solo but as you said the loot is so awful I've basically stopped when I reached the huge stone guys right after you get to the arena thing. Level 19ish IIRC.

Finished the dam mission with Ahoy and another person the other night. Damn that was insanely awesome...think I like fighting mechanical Borderlands enemies much more than flesh and bone now.

Did you play 100.8% of a game or am I just interpreting this wrong

Search on Google for it.

I really wish they drop shared loot and do personal loot.

So I finally got the challenge accepted achievement, had to complete the shotgun challenge 'wide open' to unlock the challenge 'shotty sniper'. I'm also getting Jimmy Jenkins to show up more often, did 6 runs, found him 2 times. I've got a pretty good little system down, so if anyone want help or advice let me know. :)

Jesper did the cinematics of Chaos Theory. So they both worked on that game.

Jesper has also done the first Borderlands, Darksiders II, Forza 4, MDK 2, Kane and Lynch(best part about the game by far), among other games. For those wondering what else he has done.

Just saw this post.
That fast travel is leave only. You can't go back to it.

I liked the timed / escort missions something to mix up the game play of go the x spot and kill a gazillion enemies. These day people just expect that they shouldn't be able to fail in games which is quite sad.

My first and only legendary (so far) was at level 19! Don't have the pic but it was a torgue grenade mirv longbow bonus plus package.

Just beat the game - it was awesome.

Got legendary shield from the final boss, which throws out corrosive missiles every time I'm hit with a bullet. It's crazy good.

Oh now I get the Moxxi favorite gun joke. I've got vibration turned off at the console level, so I never felt the joke. Gotta say, I hate vibration, especially in gun games.
Wait, it makes the controller vibrate? I have vibration turned off, too, so I had no idea. :lol

Holy crap, the end of part 1 to chapter 15. The boss fight with the
Bunk-3r
then
Roland
dying. Wow, so much going on. Amazing how much story there is after the first had basically nothing.

The loot takes a sharp turn for the better too once you get to the second part of chapter 15. A lot of what I encounter shits on my current equipment now.

Yeah, it says something along the lines of "Find out why this is my favorite gun" or something. I used it and couldn't really see anything different about it. Apparently it vibrates a lot. I love the sense of humor on display through most of the game. I say 'most' because it does get serious quite a bit too, which is kinda jarring but also pretty cool.

Definitely my GOTY so far, and right up there with Fallout 3 for my game of the generation. It reminds me a lot of FO3, oddly.

It's night and day from the first game. I can't even remember the story of the first other than a vault. I was invested the entire way through BL2, though. So good. Playing through NG+ and I'm picking up more tidbits along the way because now I'm familiar with all the characters.

I just did this section a moment ago. Craziness

The fight against
the Bunker
was nuts. Could barely keep myself up. If I didn't spec for my Siren with Sweet Release, I don't know how I would have made it through

Really surprised at how engaging the plot is becoming and yeah I noticed the damage on just about everything has doubled these last few levels (currently 26)

That fight was so awesome. Loved every minute. And especially the drops. I got like 5 purples and one orange from it.

Awesome! You are probably one of the first then.

Would you mind PM'ing a list of ALL of the Challenges needed? And the way to get Jenkins. Seeing as there is no proper guide out there yet.

I know it would be ALOT of work, and I do understand if you don't have time. :p

So wait, you have to do that from the start of the playthrough? Or can I just go to Claptraps place, grab it and go to the volcano right now? I've already been to the top of the volcano once so I know where it is.

Yes just go to Claptraps place and walk/car it all the way to there. I think its amazing the egg gets disabled if you use fast travel at all lol

Alright GAF scratch my last post. When I picked up the quest "Lost Treasure" In caustic caverns I noticed the area scaled with my level and so did the loot there. So After grind that area for 2 levels and loot I decided to finish my first playthrough. I grinded the last boss for loot and EXP and I am about to start my 2ND playthrough at level 38 with mostly Blue/Purple quality level 34 items.

I think I was just sleepy at the time when I made my last post.

Game is great lots of fun and had made obvious improvements from the 1st installment. I only played Brick in Borderlands 1 so I really liked seeing him kick ass from a third person perspective. My only real rant with Borderlands 2 is the attempt to add some seriousness to the story. I did not like the death of Bloodwing and really didn't like Roland dying. I was honestly expecting myself as the vault hunter having to help reunite the old school crew. Then once you reunite Lilith, Roland, Brick, Mordecai. You team up with them and just start kicking ass and taken names while laughing at the opposition. I would have preferred the story to just be laid back and full of laughs. My closest comparison of disappointment is The Expendables Two. Why the hell did they have to introduce that new kid just to die in a lame attempt to make the story serious? Really ridiculous. But everything aside, I love this game.

Would have gone into more detail, but cannot wait for second playthrough. :)

Amazing! Thank you. You are a gentleman and a scholar.

Seriously though, last I heard was that only one person had that achievement. (Though, might be a while ago.) And that was a Gearbox Employee. Seeing as no one had unlocked ALL the Challenges.

If there's ever a Borderlands 2 movie, I want Conan O'Brien to play Handsome Jack.

One of the quests was bugged to hell, the 4 way standoff mission at the entrance to Sanctuary. 2 of the people i tried talking to said nothing and I couldn't question them again. And then after just deciding to randomly kill someone, the game wouldn't let me do that either. All my shots went through the person and eventually they
all killed themselves.

Anyone know what the red text does for this game? I got it while doing the Bane mission.
