In all honesty, not really. lol

It really means nothing most of the time. The new X-Men that didn't do well got a A-. Inception got a B+ and so on.

Alice Through the Looking Glass got an A- and Avatar an A.

Yeah, I don't think it means anything.

That...might not be the wisest move

Crowd was packed last night, haven't seen a packed cinema since Civil War. Warcraft had five people here, Star Trek had maybe 20, Alice had three (three too many.) Got asked to move seats twice because people had reserved them, random guy geeked out to me re: WW trailer.

When it left I heard someone yell "fuck Jared Leto." DC onto a winner.

I'd say it'd get a billion but I don't think it'll have legs in Southern America.

Thoughts: I wonder what legs SS will have. Regardless, it'll be financially successful for WB without much trouble. And given that it's expectations are far different from BvS, WB can chalk that up to a win even if WOM tanks it from now on.
I thought it has to make 800 mil? Doesn't seem like a easy feat especially with the Mexican chain not showing it and the possible China ban?

Domestically I don't think there's any question right now it tops BvS barring some absolutely record breaking drops.

Actually that could happen

And if it does, BvS will have taken more Ls than any superhero movie in recent memory

Having the two most well-known characters of all time lose to GoTG, Zootopia, Jungle Book, SS, LMAO

I think Green Lantern and Jonah Hex would still take that prize considering that they both lost money.

BvS is likely the biggest disappointment considering that a well made movie should have made an easy 1.25 billion given the characters.

Zootopia was finally removed from theatres on Thursday, after 154 days in release.

Batman v Superman got 84 days.

It looks like Suicide Squad will come in on the low end of yesterday's range.

You forgot R-rated Deadpool!
I can't imagine how pissed off WB execs were that an R rated Superhero movie based on a character only nerds had heard of beat the first live action team up movie with three of the best known superheroes in the world. I would of loved to been a fly on the wall in some of those meetings.

Young people really connected w/ bad guys of #SuicideSquad. 54% of aud was under 25. Females 46%. These are great #s for film like this.

I don't think it'll lose it's legs like BvS because of this. Skews really well.

Gonna expect the drop off to be less than people think next week, too. This has been a wack ass summer.

Harley bringing in the girls. I think that gender ratio is better than pretty much every major superhero film released. The least skewed Marvel films were just shy of 60% male.

EDIT: The drop will still be 60%+ next weekend. Maybe not the near 70% for BvS, but this isn't having a great hold.

Yeah, I expect the legs to be okay on this. Word of mouth among regular people doesn't seem to be anywhere near as bad as BvS.

I've never met a single person in real life that didn't think BvS was shit.

It doesn't really matter if it's got OK word of mouth. The $20.5M in previews is going to drag next weekend down regardless. Look at Civil War. Not much more could have gone right with its reception and it still fell 59.5%

After 1 day, Suicide Squad is already the third biggest live action opening for the summer, about $700k behind X-Men Apocalypse's entire 3-day weekend take. It will become the second biggest live action film of the summer after Monday or Tuesday (4-5 days in release). This summer has been terrible outside of Civil War and the two big animated films.

That International total seems sort of front loaded with $33M on Friday vs ~$21M on Thursday and $9M (from fewer markets) on Wednesday.

BvS made $89M on its first Friday after making $48M on Wed/Thurs.

Ghostbusters is currently listed at $135k for Friday, but that is likely a typo by BOM. I doubt it fell over 95% this weekend.
