Oh wait, I'm the person not being a dick to you and offering sympathy.

Fuck it, you're on your own.
You automatically assumed I'd been a twat and done something to put myself in this position. I'm sorry if I misread your post but that, to me at least, sounds like you were just assuming the worst out of me.

Actually, no, as all job agency websites are blocked at work but thanks for just assuming that, man, really helps soften the blow of being betrayed by people I considered to be my friends.

Oh, wait.

No need to snap Cyanide, I think Mike was just looking for an explanation as to why exactly you were fired, as a company cannot fire you just for looking for another job. It might be an idea to have a look through your contract and check the terms of the disciplinary procedure.

What a twat of a day, I barely stopped. Got shit done though, so it's all good. I got the fire alarm panel on that nuisance site back up and running too, aww yiss!
For the At The Drive-In fans: have you heard of Drive Like Jehu? They were a huge influence on the fromer band. Lead singer went on to form Hot Snakes who aren't quite as good, I don't think. Some fine choices from Yank Crime (not got the first album) are:

Drive Like Jehu - Super Unison
Monster monster!

This track was rather raucous in particular, nice man.
That's put a bit of a shitter on, well, everything. I'm jobless.
You should've kept schtum about your job man, you know, due to the nature of your work and all that.
I had a disciplinary ages ago for being AWOL for two days. But that would not and should not affect this.
Um, how's that now? That's exactly the kind of thing they'd take into account!

Also, this may be the fattest bike tyre I've ever seen:

Because a disciplinary and file notes can only remain on record for six months. I got my disciplinary over six months ago. They shouldn't have counted it but they did. As for whether I'm going to pursue challenging it? Nah, fuck it, I've sent my CV out in full force.

So, you bitch and whine about not having enough money to do anything - yet the opportunity arises where you have apparently been unfairly dismissed from your job... Which, correct me if I'm wrong, if you were and you win the case you get a decent cash settlement at the end... And you're just going to ignore all of this and look for another job?

Something smells a bit fishy to me, I don't think this is the whole story.

Also, just to clarify - a disciplinary can stay on file as long as the company wants - it shows you've done something wrong in your job, therefore can use it in evidence against you if you were to continue doing stuff wrong.

Shit, I forgot you work for my company.

My bad.

Sounds like you were looking on job sites whilst at work on a work computer? My company has fired people for the same thing. Not clever but you learn and you move on. Good luck with the job hunt man

I used to do that all the time. In fact I used to tell my boss when I'd found something promising.

Two things.

Firstly, if you make snappy remarks to me because I do not know your company, at least make the effort to respond to the rest of the post. You've ignored everyone who's asked about the contesting it and why you're not, which is an extremely weird thing to do given your situation.

Secondly, always rehost images... You never know when the site can change them to dickpix...

Much Love <3

That looks like an awesome shop
Darke Cycles, proper specialists. Halfords it ain't.

You and Andy would have a field day!
A reminder of my eternal shame - I can't ride a bike. One day, one day.
Haha, let's all point and laugh at aface! ;)

The 6 months refers to the period in which they can use that as the first step in disciplinary proceedings. In terms of taking it into account, it will be relevant as long as they remember about it.

You know what I forgot? It's Friday!!!!! So I'm renewing a tradition of mine.

What's everyone's weekend plans?

Tonight I’m meeting Mike and his new girlfriend in Camden for a few drinks.

Tomorrow I have a few friends coming round to finally swap Christmas presents.

Sunday no plans as yet, might head out on the bike then cook a full roast, haven’t done that for a while.

Sounds like a nice plan!

Think I've already mentioned, but cinema tomorrow (excited to see slave + wolf) and then relaxing. Emma has severe arthritis everywhere but her neck, and this week I've been on helper duty so probably will be doing that too.

That's so weird, my weekend is starting out pretty much the same.

Just got to kings cross, now to find somewhere that sells flowers...

Aww yess! So delighted to read that question again. Currently on the bus listening to some Gambino while heading to a birthday laser tag event. Meeting up with a female friend tomorrow evening. Sunday is rest and TV show watching day.

Well I was thinking of going to the cinema but strangely there doesn't seem to be anything new out at the cinema this week. I'll probably just stay in tonight and get a takeaway and watch anime and maybe get around to catching up on some TV shows or something, or play videogames.

I dunno, my weekends are mostly boring I'm afraid :/

Next weekend will be more interesting though as I'm in London on the 24th for BETT 2014.

Oh and I still have like £510 left on my Selfridges gift card cos they still haven't gotten that tablet I want back in stock :/

Weekend plans for me.

- Weather permitting get back into a jogging routine. It's overdue.
- Brainstorm more ideas for a project I'm working on.
- Do some research for this project.
- Apply for a few jobs.
- Depending on whether he's free over the weekend, meet with Tash for some drinks.

As mentioned, word had got round I was looking for work elsewhere. People felt my position and wage were not justified if I was planning on leaving the company. At least six people had complained.

Word doesn't just get around. Someone had to have known, someone must have seen. Again, not a justified reasoning for firing someone.

Please do. The shame will spur me on.

Quiet one this weekend. Hopefully trying out the new guitar as mentioned previously, and a bit more googling for itinerary inspiration for honeymoon.

Enjoy your drinks tonight. Would be great to do something similar with some London gaffers in the near future - seems an eaiser prospect to get to know you all a bit better in a smaller group outside of/in addition to the big meets.

Tonight:
Drinks after work. We've our only female team member leaving next week so are getting the drinks in now so we can focus on making outrageously sexists remarks all of next week at her expense. Bless.

Wifey has told me to come home reeking of booze and kebab. I knew she was a keeper.

Tomorrow:
Play average-to-good videogames in my pants. All day.
Maybe watch a movie with wifey in the evening.

Sunday:
Shop around for a proper winter jacket to wear rather than continuing with the piece of glorified tin-foil I bought from Asda 2 years ago.
Finish off watching House of Cards with wifey. Possibly in pants. Status unconfirmed at this point.

Aww, Son of D x Tash and Mush x Mikeside minimeets, have fun guys!

Pretty quiet one for me, just chilling with some beers and movies/vidya games tonight, spring clean time for the gaff tomorrow, probably see the boys tomorrow night. No idea for Sunday yet, I'll just follow my nose innit.

Please do. The shame will spur me on.
Just joshin' brah. If it helps, I'm a terrible swimmer. :|

Thanks, I’m sure I will!

And yes definitely, the main quarterly meets are non-London based at least for the first half of the year. So I’m sure I’ll be organising some mini meets in between for the London based clique! Will keep everyone updated.

Making Margaritas and watching Arrow, maybe also Her.

Oooh enjoy. This week’s episode wasn’t as amazing as the mid-season finale but I think that’s to be expected, it was still pretty good and nice to have it back after so many weeks without!

Can't believe I'm working tomorrow. How tragic...
At least I get to play Vita all day. SmokyDave would be proud.

Edit: I'm a superplum

Hope she likes my budget flowers!

If she's like most, truly it's the thought that counts. I told my missus about my good day (insurance win and pay day) and she was about as subtle as a sledgehammer in suggesting that I buy her flowers as a result. So yep, home via the florists it is!
