Boo! Go chocolatey!

Kinda negates the point of trying to be healthy

No preordering needed, never gonna sell out! If there is a guestlist I will totes add you to it, will let you know on the day. Thanks for coming out, I feel much better knowing at least SOMEONE will be there.

Awesome, looking forward to it!

Btw I actually just watched the video, I don't know what I was expecting but it was really awesome! Totes loved it, very impressed. Who made it?

"We talked about our hopes and dreams after 6pm on a dial-up connection and now we're glued to our smart phones desperately trying to find out where they went."

Pretty interesting article I stumbled upon earlier. Basically dissects the assertion by Bret Easton Ellis (novelist perhaps best known for American Psycho) that generation Y (anyone in their 20s right now) are a bunch of wusses. Do you guys think it's thread worthy? It basically links the weak spine behavior to growing up with access to the internet and developing alongside it.

Thanks! We get that so often "I thought this would be shit but it isn't", feels good :) We did it ourselves. I 'directed' it I guess, it was my idea and nobody thought it would work so I feel good that it came out ok. Laura and Johnny both helped film it too Laura edited it. We're DIY as hell.

I'd say it's thread worthy.

Do your magic and I'll post in it.

Definitely thread worthy, although my irony meter is having a hard time with BEE calling anybody wusses.

I'm on the weetabix at the minute. The golden syrup ones are well nice.

Just two though daps, fatty.

Not even three? And the golden syrup one is a bit gross. Not as bad as the chocolate flavour Weetabix, actually the worst cereal I've ever tasted.

And I'm not fat I'm skinnyfat, flabby and emaciated all at the same time. Like that dude from Pan's Labyrinth with the eyes in his hands.

I have neither the time nor the inclination to eat breakfast. I might make an exception on a weekend morning if I'm hung over.

Fucking Bioshock is running on my phone. Bioshock. On my telephone. I live in the future.

I really really really want it on Vita. It is sad.

Coco Shreddies are tasty.

I used to eat Krave but that felt too much like a treat.

Sometimes I eat FOUR weetabix slabs at once.

We like Krave. If you want pure chocolate goodness though Marks and Spencer do a triple choc crunch. AFAIK it's the only cereal which officially doubles as a dessert (ie the packet says you can splodge some cream or ice cream on and you're good to go).

Used to be a cereal man then i switched to muesli and now I go for boiled eggs mixed with tomatoes, spring onions, cucumbers and lettuce. Healthy way to start the day...excluding Weekends of course :)

The only cereal I like are Shreddies, Cookie Crisp or Ready Brek. Poached eggs or omelette are my choice of breakfast, and chuck in some fried vegetables.

I hate this weather. I'm never prepared for it :(

@Londoners - do you know any nice rock/metal pubs around that aren't super expensive and most likely in Camden? The ones I've found are always mega full, super overpriced and for some unknown reason full of tourists. I'm just looking for a place to chill with nice music.

You need Manchester for that. Everyone is this thread will agree with me. I guarantee it.

You are a master baiter.

As for rock clubs, The Barfly is pretty good but commercialised now. It tends to be the case that bands do gigs in pubs, so you gotta find a band you like and go to the venue they chose.

Ok.

Just off the top of Charing Cross Road is Crobar, it's small but plays awesome music and is a nice place to chill.

Round the corner used to be The Intrepid Fox which was awesome, but sadly this closed due to Crossrail. Happily they have reopened in a new venue near Archway but I've not been yet so can't say what it's like, but they do have live bands.

On Holloway Road is Big Red which is a great American style rock pub with a cool jukebox playing banging tunes. They also do amazing food here and regularly have live bands.

Camden obviously has lots. Worlds End right opposite the station is quite popular and does get busy but there's usually room. The Black Heart round the back from there is great and has a really good selection of beers. Also does good food. Close by is also Brewdog, a chain but a good one. Further up Camden is Hawley Arms which used to be good but I haven't been there in a while.

If you want to know about clubs/club nights let me know, there's a fair few decent ones.

You don't eat breakfast at all Dean? Most important meal of the day?

Nope. When I'm not doing 5/2 I follow 16/8 as I don't lose too much weight that way, mostly maintain yet still eat whatever the fuck I like.

The whole breakfast being the most important meal of the day thing is pants of the highest order, absolutely zero scientific evidence behind it. I drink black coffee (no milk or sugar) at about half seven, lunch at half ten, dinner by half six and then no more food until half ten again the next day. Works wonders for me.

I do whatever the fuck I like at the weekend, life's too short.

Yeah I have a hard time taking that kind of criticism without a grain of salt, it seems to be a generational thing to shit on the next one down the line for not having backbone. Also I just realized the article is pretty old, so instead of posting a thread I'll just post this video that sort of encapsulates the zeitgeist of what is being said (alongside a sweet soundtrack I might add):

I use to love metal and rap rock. I went through my Linkin Park/Limp Bizkit phase. Now it's too loud/jarring for me. I'm no teenager anymore.
I never understood this mindset. I'm as much into pounding house, harsh electro, bouncy hip-hop and abrasive punk as I've ever been. I can't understand why you'd get to a certain age and suddenly decide it's too noisy for your fragile ears.

I just get into more and more new music as I get older and stick it on the pile. I've only recently got into stuff like blues, funk and soul, but it's all good mane.
lunch at half ten

All Brits should be born with a brolly in their bag. Need to be prepared at all times.
Umbrellas are for girls, real mean just get wet.

(I often shelter under one if a girl I'm with came prepared, but I usually carry a clutch bag and a brolly just won't fit.)

I'm on a Shalamar drive at the moment, give them a whirl if you haven't already.

Got off the phone with my mum recently. Apparently my brother has broken up with his girlfriend for the fourth and final time and now wants to leave the Isle of Harris forever and spend some time at my Dad's in France. He marks the occasion of his leaving with a big pissup and the next morning misses his ferry to Skye. On his second attempt, he makes it over, but gets lost trying to find his friend's house on Skye. He has no credit on his phone and is is finally found three hours later when they went looking for him. He stays the night then leaves and gets on a bus to Glasgow. Some hours later it becomes apparent that he has left his debit card at his friend's place and has no money in his wallet. The only thing he does have is his easyjet ticket. He arrvives in Glasgow and manages to make a phone call to my mum to let her know what's going on. He's told that he's an idiot but things should be okay if he just waits and the card gets put in the post. All good. He then goes into a bank and cancels his debit card and get's a new one sent...to Harris.

I sit and listen to this and my expression resembles this:

I'm not sure, I just don't enjoy metal anymore. Perhaps loud was the wrong word to use.

Fucking hell Daps, your bros staggering ineptitude amused me greatly. Cheered me up right good! You couldn't make it up.

Will check out Shalamar Drive.

(Could've linked, punk.)

I don't really like metal either. It's usually incredibly adept technically, particularly the drumming, but a lot of it is so earnest and po-faced.

I generally like the music, it's rock with balls. But I often find the lyrics and vocals really trite and corny.

Yeah he's funny like that. I mean, I'm sure he feels like shit right now but his story is funny. I'll probably go out and see him in mid September, see if I can cheer him up.

Also, the band is just Shalamar. When I used the word drive I meant I was listening to a lot of them. You might not recognize the name but I'm sure everyone in the thread has probably heard these songs in their lifetime.

A Night to Remember

I Can Make You Feel Good
