Bungie seem to be working on a PC game

Hahaha

The game is not even close to an MMO and the consoles both have party chat

Anyway the PC crowd will reject this game. It's not good, it doesn't have a lot of content, and the competitive multiplayer is one of the worst, scrubbiest pieces of shit I've ever played in my life. I can't see it doing too well, especially at the $60 you know Bobby is gonna charge for it.

Sounds about right.

PC Destiny will probably sell poorly, as much as I enjoyed my time with it.

Every time I go into a Destiny thread I see a few people saying that Destiny has the best shooting mechanics on the market today, basically verbatim too.

Why is this opinion so prevalent?

If this is Destiny and it doesn't have cross platform play then I'll kick off. None of my friends have PS4s and there's no way I'd rebuy the game on PC.

See the light Bungie.

If it's Destiny I'd get it just to see what the fuss is about. I think it would do extremely well on PC

The core shooting mechanics are wonderful, but I don't see crucible replacing PC centric shooters like CS:GO or Team Fortress. It may get its hooks into some MMO players though.

That would be a terrible idea for their product. Increase the community size, but the controller players would be at a huge disadvantage.

Seems like everyone wants to try to make a first person moba right now. I wouldn't be surprised.

Not happening. Bungie is contractually bound to Destiny for the next decade.

The contract states, that they are allowed to have 5% of their workforce on a new Marathon game, and increase that number the more profit Destiny generates.

Really wondering if I should just skip Taken King on PS4 this fall and all the ensuing DLC add-ons and hold out for a PC release. Wish they would just make an announcement

They should let you transfer your save from PC to PS4 which would be easy since the save is kept on Bungie's servers... but cross platform play on a shooter would be crazy because yup the controller players would get wrecked.

Windows 10 Exclusive.

For real though, I wonder how popular this would be on PC. Its one of the most played games on console but it's essentially a console built FPS.

I can just imagine how much more completive crucible will be with M/KB users.

It's Destiny 2.

If it were the Destiny we've got now, I imagine they would have announced the PC version already, as it would likely be released as that version of The Taken King that includes the base game and all of the DLC.

If it's Destiny it'll have to be F2P on PC to get any kinds of success in today PC market.
Well that's not even remotely true.

By that logic Borderlands would need to be F2P in order to gain players as it's very close to Destiny, or Destiny close to BL, in many ways. PC doesn't really have many games like Destiny that do things that Destiny is doing. Borderlands, Warframe if we reach little and ..?

Destiny would sell decently on PC imo, but would it be good fit when looking at things like map design in PvP and KB/M controls?
Yeah, this is what I was going to say. Destiny's what I wanted out of Borderlands. I like the always-online aspect of these types of games, because it innately creates a more competitive environment by pretty much preventing all forms of cheating.

I think the feel is very very specific to console controller.
You wot?

Destiny legitimately has the best shooting mechanics out of any modern FPS I can think of. This has nothing to do with it being console exclusive.

From the wikipedia article, it sounds like myth is now owned by take 2. Destiny 1 or 2 on PC would be a dream come true, but I wonder if that is really whats going on..

There's no monthly sub (frequent content packs instead) and it's an online game so I don't see why it wouldn't work on PC.
Destiny 2 was confirmed long ago to be releasing for PC. The real question is whether or not they'll bother porting over the first Destiny. My hope is that they do, in which case I'll triple dip.

If it's because of how unsuccessful the CoD franchise is on PC, it'd be nice if they realized PC already has the solution to competitive online FPS without ridiculously overpriced DLC and shitty P2P multiplayer.

Destiny isn't just the Crucible though, so I think it could be successful.

If it the game in question is Destiny, I wonder if it would be a Windows 10 exclusive for the X1 cross-save or if there would be a Steam version
which it would support PSN ala Portal 2
? I wouldn't be too surprised if there would be multiple versions for multiple PC stores. I just hope the system specs would support 30fps on the Geforce 560 2gb in my laptop. I would be thrilled to continue my game on the laptop.
I have Destiny on all four current platforms.

That would be their fault for playing the shitty PvP.

:(

It has great mechanics and feel, but I think all aspects are tailored very specifically for the controller and won't translate well to KB+M.

Would love for some sort of PvE cross-platform play, while PvP remained separate. Can't see them doing that though.

The big question will be the character import/cross-buy situation. Will they do an XBox 1/Windows 10 deal?

Since the servers are bungies I don't see why your character couldn't transfer from xbox to pc or ps4 to xbox or xbox to ps4. Its silly that it's missing this feature when they want you to buy the game again...

It is totally possible but it seems that MS probably veto'd this feature. Sony has allowed cross saves between PS4 and PC but so far as far as I know MS has not allowed it in other games.

Activision is looking to maximize profit, in that situation the Windows store just isn't an option.

The game will certainly be pretty to take screenshots in, provided someone makes a cheatengine table.

I might be interested despite the trash story and writing if Bungie adds in a third-person camera.

The guns in destiny have like no recoil. How would they balance the game for PC mouse users?

Maybe it is Destiny 2: Electric Boogaloo

Battlefield 4 is one of the top shooters on PC, EA has streamlined to the point of nearly negligible recoil.

BF4 was a huge step back in the series, broken for months, and I've officially washed my hands of EA entirely

So for those Destiny players, can I play this game like an arena shooter?

I see all these great movement mechanics, but I would hate to be handicapped by ADS.

Can I set up my loadout so I can keep moving all the time? Is this competitively viable?

Why do people always post comments about this game without even playing it/barely playing it since launch? This is completely false.

Seems like good timing for a TTK release coupled with exclusive PC content.
Exclusive PC emotes here we come!!
