Bungie seem to be working on a PC game

The original contract leaked years ago had Destiny 2 dropping last gen consoles and gaining pc support, and releasing 2 years after the first game.

Could be a port of the first for PC, though.

That is incorrect. The 2010 contract specifically listed 360 for Destiny 2.

Contract said:
Destiny Game #2, along with any related DLC Releases as well as Comet #2 shall be initially developed by Licensor to operate on and be compatible with the Xbox 360, Xbox 720 and the Sony PlayStation 4

Obviously things can and do change over a 5 year period including the 2013 release date.

But yeah PC was listed as a possibility for Destiny 2.

I believe that this will be a Destiny 1 + 2 PC combo or a Destiny 2 with most of Destiny 1 included.

They still have that 10% working on Marathon I think. I know they were working on a 3rd game too, but that got canned not too long ago.

So for those Destiny players, can I play this game like an arena shooter?

I see all these great movement mechanics, but I would hate to be handicapped by ADS.

Can I set up my loadout so I can keep moving all the time? Is this competitively viable?

Not really. There is an exotic handgun that this is somewhat possible with (The Last Word) due to its benefits to hipfire accuracy, but it is being nerfed as part of patch 2.0 (Taken King).

The game is not even close to an MMO and the consoles both have party chat
.

Party chat is a console feature, not a part of the game. The game is literally devoid of ways to form group relationships/parties in game was more the point I was trying to make.

And yes, the game being an overpriced piece of shit probably won't help it much either.

What was the exact question and answer?

Keep in mind Activision doesn't want to canabalize console sales of TTK. Maximize revenue, then release the definitive PC version is a common tactic.

He asks if he will be able to play Taken King on PC.

Guy answers with "On Personal Computer? No"

Seemed like a slightly weird answer, given it would be obvious what PC means.

Luke is constantly always being a little bit of a comedian. The "On Personal Computer?" question is typical tounge in cheek Luke Smith.

It is around 3:10 in the interview.

GI: Will I be able to play Taken King on PC?
LS: Personal Computer? No.

The format of the interview was quick questions and quick answers and quick moving on to the next question.

I take it to mean that they have nothing to announce about a PC version at this time. I also don't expect a PC version to release on Sept. 15 with the consoles TTK release. However I would not be surprised at all to see a PC release sometime later on.

Either you played a different destiny than I am playing or this is a master troll post.

Keep in mind even the original contract said Destiny wasn't coming to PC until Destiny 2.

What makes you think they don't already have a good portion of the team building out a story, assets etc. for Destiny 2? I bet Destiny 2 has been under development since Destiny's launch.

Did I say they weren't? I just dont think we'll see Destiny 1 on PC - in response to the discussion above my comment. I guarantee you the sequel will make it.

My question is why? We are basing our assumption on some arbitrary, outdated contract.

Destiny represents a massive, almost ludicrous, investment on Activision's part. How can they skip a platform that, at least going by the quarterly reports from many top publishers, represents a massive portion of their income. In many cases matching the income from each console, if not exceeding those levels.

What would be the point of starting with Destiny 2? Where is the logic in skipping the first game?

This best theory I can come up with is Activision is basing their decisions off of the laughable Call of Duty sales on the platform, which could be seen as a similar product.

My fingers are crossed for Halo 3, but maybe they just want people to help get ready for the upcoming Destiny 2 on PC.

I would love for them to actually get Destiny right this time.

Honestly. All I want is a sequel to Destiny that does almost everything different. Outside of a few crucial successful elements.

I mentioned this earlier as well, and think it would be rather unfortunate, considering most CoD PC ports are legitimately terrible compared to the alternative. We've already got competitive FPS games much better than the CoD series.

They don't give us optimized ports. They don't give us dedicated servers. They delay DLC by like a month because of the dumbass deals they strike up with Microsoft and/or Sony. I honestly have no idea what they expect to happen.

Of course I don't expect dedicated servers for a PC version of the Crucible. But I think Destiny would do fine without them, considering it has much more to offer besides PvP.

Well if there's a PC port coming I wish it would be announced before The Taken King is released since I'm considering jumping in on PS4 with that, and would probably just wait if I knew it were coming to PC. Probably a long ways off though anyway.

Most likely the sequel. Luke Smith said directly in the 104 quick fire questions posted earlier that TTK won't be on PC.

Why do people always post comments about this game without even playing it/barely playing it since launch? This is completely false.
Actually I have played it on ps4. And a majority of the guns have little to no real recoil. One sniper rifle that has a high cool down between shots and that partially autolevels (aka, most of the recoil is just a screen movement which does not effect its performance due to the cool down) does not make a pattern.

IceBreaker can fire up to six shots in a row. It doesn't have a high cool down in between shots. It slowly regenerates ammo up to six shots so if you are at zero in the clip then you have to wait five seconds until the next bullet generates.

Lots of other weapons have recoil too. The Last Word comes to mind as one. Not sure what game you are comparing to so its hard to say more.

Well http://www.gameinformer.com/b/featu...and-answers-about-destiny-the-taken-king.aspx pretty much confirmed TTK isn't coming to PC.

Unless they have time to explain.

Posted earlier on this page.

Sorry I meant to respond to this point yesterday.

I think the fact that Destiny is not yet on PC has more to do with Bungie as a studio than with Activision. Bungie has been making console only games since Halo 1, and Xbox only games until Destiny.

And Bungie has said that they have their hands full already releasing on four consoles. They have also said that they would like to also release also on PC at some point in the future but for now they are already at the limits of what they are capable of pushing out with developing on the four consoles at the moment. Judging by the awful endgame bugs in the Raids that took them a long time for them to fix I would tend to agree.

I would guess that they don't want to outsource a PC port either.

Remember this from an NVIDIA conference in 2013?
