This whole thing is really suspicious. Ryan didn't ask Nunes to recuse himself. And Trump stumped for him (Ryan) in Wisconsin. It all reeks.

Ryan's district is less safe then Chaffetz currently. Ryan's district has a shot to turn blue if the republicans have a really really bad 2018 midterm election.

I think the dude is slimey and will be connected to the investigation but I wonder if he will cite legitimate health reasons which would make it so he could bow out without too much attention. These optics are so bad. But it's so good for me.

Not seeking reelection I would think he is just propping himself up for a governor run. But leaving the term early would be much different.

So legit question here. If indictments are truly pending and he knows it, what does stepping down before they drop actually do for him? Doesn't really save any face for the GOP or him right? If nothing ends up happening, stepping down just adds to the smoke. Just trying to understand why he would step down.
