Dude, Georgia stayed competitive. At Rupp! I know we are undefeated, and this team has show a very strong will to win when the game comes down to the wire, but they continually put themselves in a position to be beat.

Beyond that, I guarantee you Pitino has been on the phone all week sharing everything he learned from playing us. Expect Florida to come out and play the exact same type of game Louisville did. It will be an ugly game and if we don't lose, Florida will have at least had it close near the end with a chance to win.
I hear what you guys are saying, and generally I would agree. However, I have to ask how much you all have seen UF play this year? We are hardly the shooting team of years past, in fact we are downright pitiful from behind the arc. Our real strength coming into this year was defense, controlling the pace, but we seem to mold to our opponent in every game. Still, I'd love for it to be competitive, ugly, everything a UF-UK game should be, so here's hoping :).

wow, so what a week and weekend, eh? we went in with 4 undefeateds, and leave with just two remaining. 1, 4, 5, 8, and (10) all lost this week as conference play kicked off and a team with 6 scholarship players on the roster ended their non-conference schedule in style.

Overall it looks to be an exciting week in college basketball, as conference play gets down to business and teams who know each other like the back of their hands battle for dominance. personally i'm excited to see how well my Kentucky wildcats fare on the road, in the SEC, first at Florida and then at Auburn. if we can pull that out...wow. if not we'll still learn a lot about ourselves and get even better, which should scare the rest of the country.

Louisville is playing a damn fine game so far against Nova.

They played a good game. Samuels is a monster. He didn't miss from the line all game, 14-14 I think! The officials were a big problem in the game, over 66 fouls called in the game. It lasted two and a half hours! I'm glad Nova won but they really didn't play all that well besides Reynolds.

I quit watching out of boredom.

That game was nothing but a hack-fest. I certainly wouldn't call it basketball. I think Louisville shot 45 free throws and almost 70 fouls called between both teams. Almost a 2 hour and 40 minute Big East yawner.

I can't lie. I just had it streaming on ESPN360 while I watched Chuck and How I Met Your Mother. :D

So, I got to see a fan ejected from a game today. Went to see Siena play. A kid (#3) on the other team undercuts a player going for a ball who falls really hard (the arena went dead silent after the noise that came from the fall). No call because the refs are horrible at this level, and the other team continues play to get an easy 2 points before the refs stop the game. One of our players gets a T pushing #3 away from our player as he's still standing over the one on the ground. Fans were going nuts and a minute after the game has continued since luckily there was no serious injury, a ref blows his whistle, points to a guy 4 rows in front of me, and says he's gone. No idea what he said but it must have been pretty bad. The guy was front row on the floor. People stood and cheered as he was escorted out of the building. The entire rest of the game the fans booed every time #3 touched the ball.

nice that we're 16 in the AP and 20 in the coaches but I can't shake this uneasy feeling of us freefalling and doing something similar to what gtown did last year.

So Alcorn St. was up by about 20 points with 15 minutes left in the second half. Grambling State makes a comeback and wins in overtime!

Alcorn St. remains without a win.

Suspended Tennessee basketball players Cameron Tatum and Melvin Goins passed drug tests administered shortly after their New Year's Day arrests and could be reinstated within the next two weeks, a source told CBSSports.com.

It will be interesting to see what happens when people start coming back. Probably be harder to reinsert the players into the lineup, especially if we keep winning, than it was to pull them out.

Dick Vitale:

"I have a better chance of growing hair than John Wall coming back to Kentucky" - UK-UF game, 1/12/10

this game is still very close, and very fluid, with 7 minutes left in the first half

Someone should share that same info with Tyus from Florida. When your hairline is behind your ears it is time to shave that head. Of course, he has hit two 3 point shots in his entire career, both tonight against us. :lol

7 point game at the half after florida scored the games first 7 points over the first 4 minutes.

we've missed, according to Cal, 10 1-foot shots. that's not good D, thats just...bad O. 38-31 UK over Fl at the half. Bledsoe has stepped the hell up tonight, whereas Wall only has 8. Orton's 3 blocks in one Florida possession was pretty sweet, sucks that Florida hit that 3 though.

come on, UK, keep it up in half #2

Shit.. .Florida has hit some shit or they'd be out of this game. 2 3-point baskets from old receding hair line.. the only 2 he's ever made in his career, and one of Florida's guards banked in a 3-point shot from about 3 feet behind the line. We've missed all kinds of bunnies. We should be up by 20 right now.

I just checked the stat sheet. Would you believe those are the only 3s that Florida has actually hit all game?

wow I didn't expect florida to make a game out of this

But their 3s from the parking lot couldn't keep falling all game long, and we walk out with a 12 point win. Good game, Gators.

It's bittersweet... he won't get shit-canned no matter what this season. We'll have to endure 2 terrible seasons to get him out (if we're lucky). I'd rather just be wrong and have him be unlucky or some bullshit this season instead of just not being cut out to be an elite program coach.

UNC's got a tough one tomorrow night, taking on a Georgia Tech team fresh off their upset of dook. Hope we can hold serve at home.

That's hilarious, but the jokes won't be so funny once you get a taste for how tight a ship Calipari runs...

And when our players are driving around with handguns without serial numbers, I'll come to you for your expert and experienced advice.

Good that way we have to play with the team that beat Kansas.

Your boys looked good against Kansas. I expect to split the games with UT this season.

That front line is pretty beasty with Lawal and Favors. Your boy Deon has to step up or you will lose. Then again, even though the sheep don't have anyone of Ellington caliber this year, you're still a better outside shooting team than Tech, they're streaky. Your biggest advantage is that Huckleberry Hound is a much much much much much much much better coac h than Hewitt. That hurt me to type that.

We have BC at CIS. I fell pretty confident with no Tyrese Rice to drop 40 on us, we will kick their catholic asses back to beantown.

Totally brain-farted when I posted last night, the Heels travel to Little John tonight to take on Clemson. We're playing Tech on Saturday.

Well, it's official: I probably won't be going to any more home Duke bball games (with the exception of UNC). The men's basketball program has decided to get rid of all student seating on the "non-TV side" (the side that's not shown on TV, ie the one without the horde of sweaty Asian kids jumping up and down).

I'm unbelievably upset about this, and surprised that K isn't fighting it more. Historically many of the "true" Duke fans have stood on that side because of the proximity to the opposing team's bench (K has even spoken about this in the past), heckling them during time outs and such, not to mention the ability to watch and enjoy the game in peace and in a much better spot (unless you camp out a day or 2 in advance to get center court in the first 3 rows of the Crazies' side).

:(

One of the younger guards needs to step up. When Ginyard isn't playing they shit the bed. Aside from the Michigan St. game, they've been looking like they belong to NC State.

I remember a couple nights ago watching the OSU vs. OU game and one of the commentators saying that big 12 teams are 147-1 at home this year. Texas is having a tough time trying to make it 147-2

Boston College sucks. Why couldn't they join the Big East or something?
