PSN is still not showing any of the trophies or thumbs up in the Whats New section for the game...I know they have other bugs and stuff to tend to right now, just saying....(theres no activities tab in the overview).

Is there anyway to smooth the graphics out on the PS4? On my TV, the sprite graphics look very pixelated as if they were blown up from a lower resolution.

I think that's what people generally like.

But I'm not seeing any filter options, even on pc. Just resolution options.

Can someone explain the style mechanic to me? I'm not sure I get it. You have a percentage that increases with each move and can go over 100%. Does this provide passive buffs, or is there some sort of style-using move that I don't realize exists?

By the way, I was just looking at Locke's sprite through an image search to make sure I wasn't mistaken, and I was just reminded of the weird character cameos in Secret of Evermore. Those were pretty awesome.
??? Never played Evermore but I'd love to know more about the cameos.

I enforced my own 60fps cap and so far everything has been good. Just got a full party and no following issues so far.

I think I'm stuck in the Scimerex village.
I've gotten the translation device but it seems I need a terminal as well. I think I've explored the whole village but not found it.
Anyone know where it is?

edit: never mind, I found it.

Game froze after killing an enemy in desperation mode(?), dying and then clicking retry.

Music and animations still play.

By the front of the village on the lower-right side. It should have options on it that you can now read with the translation device.

Was hoping to get the Switch pro controller working with this game, but for some reason it only detects movement on the left analog stick and only l/r, which moves Alyssa up and downwards. The rest of the buttons all work fine, but can't play the game if you can't move the character around.

Dislike most of the character designs they look like hipsters which you tend to see in a lot of indy games and it looks like they just straight up edited chrono trigger sprites rather than their own from scratch.

It's the faces that look the most like Chrono Trigger, but honestly at this combination of sprite size and pixel resolution it's not like there are millions of different ways to draw a face.

If they really wanted to rip off graphics the game would have come out much faster!

Can someone explain the "poison bug / issue" so we can track it down?

Having trouble recreating or figuring out what it refers to.

Also need to know if you're on pc or ps4.

Yeah, the game seems to consistently freeze/options become unavailable if I restart a battle. After a few turns the battle command disappear and I have to close the application (PS4).

I couldn't wait, so I picked it up on PC! I have a spare PSN code that will raffle off in the thread later, though I don't know the best method for how to do so.

Loving it so far - only an hour in but it's already settling well into the Cthulhu / Breath of Death style of combat that I really dig from Zeboyd. I know that the game is trying to evoke 16-bit a lot, but I get such warm, fuzzy Sega CD nostalgia feelings from the brief character intro videos - honestly the best looking game from you two yet!

Came in to ask the same question. I know that style factors into a character's ability to stay alive/kick into Desperation mode, but I don't know if the "more style = more power" is just for enemies or if that applies to PCs as well.

This game is awesome, definitely giving me a nostalgic smile as I play. Love the humor (I've barked a laugh a few times at what the random npc's say) and love the music, hell, love everything really.

It seems like there are still some kinks to be ironed out. So I'm probably gonna wait to play this one. But I'm gonna buy it tonight so I can help support the effort. =D

Bought! My copy is downloading now.

I have Dragon Quest VIII, Zelda BOTW, and Mother 3 all in my backlog, but I think this is going to bump them all. Can't wait to get into it!

Quick question:

Should I pay the NPCs in Gehenna? Will I get screwed over later if I don't, or will I get glitches (I thought I read something about that) if I do?

Spoiler-tag if necessary.

Thanks.

Is Marle super tall or is Alyssa Tyrion?

You won't get screwed over but

she does open an item shop with very good equipment near the end of the game

Speaking of which, after she does (bug tip for Zeboyd)-

The original NPC that you gave the credits to doesn't disappear after she opens the shop, so you have one copy of her in the homeless shelter saying "Thanks!
You won't regret this!" and another copy of her running the shop.

Those Bladder Runner feels in the city... soooo good. Also did I catch a reference to Star Wars detention center scene lol

Ha ha ha! "Bladder Runner"! I love it. I think you meant "Blade Runner" and I'm never going to view "Blade Runner" the same way again... (not sure if you meant to misspell it or not but it was very funny to me).

Thanks, what about the dude who asks for 600 gold for some intel or whatever?

You're probably within an hour or two at most of figuring out why some NPCs in the world have names. So, without getting too specific on unnecessary spoilers, I'll just say that I did give him the money, and I did get a benefit from him down the line, but I can't be sure if the two were connected or if the first instance was just for some info that was pertinent at the time and the second interaction would've worked out regardless of paying or not.

Ah, I didn't notice if he had a name, but I do know there's
some Suikoden-like recruiting
(I backed the KS after all ^^) so I thought it might have something to do with it. I was mostly concerned about glitch reports I read, but it might have been a false alarm. Okay, thanks for the info.

Oh, what does v1.04 entail?

v1.04
Fixed various map obstruction issues
Fixed various NPC dialogue issues (typos, missing text, incorrect names).
Fixed an issue where travelling to the Asteroid Ruins sometimes messed up the party.
Fixed an issue where you could get stuck in NuBurger if you went there at a specific time.
Fixed pickpocket returning to the map issue in Gehenna
Updated various sound effects
Swamp, casino, and outside waterfall cliff areas now have new ambient music tracks combined with their regular music.

Also, if you pay the informant in Gehenna before going to Nightshade,
the assassin he mentions shows up in the next segment and you have to fight him.

Do y'all have a forum or any specific area to submit bugs or is it fine for us to keep posting them here?

Just played the first prologue mission. WOW. I am impressed!

I know it's not fair to compare games from big companies versus games made by one or two guys, but holy shit... this Indie Dev just made probably the most creative, fun, and strategic turn based combat system I've ever played. I don't know how I'm going to go back to playing Dragon Quest and Mother 3 on my 3DS after a few minutes of this. This is SO. MUCH. BETTER.

The music is fantastic. Everyone: Click on the CREDITS in the main menu the music is awesome!!

Can't wait to play more tonight. That combat system though, WOW. I'm afraid this game is going to ruin JRPGs for me in the future...

As someone whose game originally had sprites of a similar size, yeah. You quickly realize that there's only a few ways that actually look decent.

Hey Robert, about the bounty hunter alien character (forgot his name), am I doing something wrong or is his revive skill bugged? I would use it to prepare for being revived, then use the skill that drops him to one health, and then if I got hit at all i would just immediately be killed, no revive and not even desperation mode. Am I missing something?

Up to the Mines on Super Spy w/out grinding. This is fucking hard Robert. Not to, um, bias me or anything, but... what's your go to party and which skills do you coincidentally have them on? *shifty*

Not that I need help! No siree, I'm totes doing this all on my own. But, you know, just for curiosity!

As opposed to the ones who are still called things like "NPC32" or "NPC46" or whatever? Or maybe they're just robots...

(I presume this has been fixed in 1.04 judging by the notes below, but still - it amused me!)
