So like, does that mean Creed 2 won't happen? I WANNA SEE CREED AGAIN.

It's one of the very few movies that left me thinking "Wow, when will I be able to see this again?" as soon as them credits started rolling.

Oh my goodness what a damn waste of his time and talent. He's been on such an incline too

Whatever, confirms I'll be kinda excited to see it now. Too bad Boseman was already cast, MBJ da gawd could have gone for that 3-peat

You know people said this when they heard his next project was a Rocky spinoff, too.

Sure, but then those interviews came out where he explained how personal the project was for him and how he came up with the idea

Plus I really have my doubts any comic book movie now can be handled as well as creed was (marvel or WB). All this baggage on them now.

I'm assuming you're in including CoD commercials in this count.

I like him as an up and coming director, which is why I rather have him direct the upcoming Tupac biopic. He's great at drama.

Which is something that many have argued that the MCU is lacking. They're solid action films, but they lack strong character drama. If he can make a really good drama, with decent action, then maybe the complaints of the MCU being too cookie-cutter will wane and eventually fade.

I don't know what people see in MBJ. He's like Jay Baruchel for me in that I can't stand his face.

He also just looks too American for T'Challa for me.

Did they? I recall lots of optimism, although nobody was about Coogler back then as they are now.
There was little to no optimism from what I saw. Coogler had his following from Fruitvale and that made me happy, but hearing the idea I was iffy. Then MBJ got on and it was kinda better following that

Trying to come up with black lead characters MJB could play and all I can think of are Cloak and Victor Alvarez. Blade is an obvious choice, but I think they're planning on gender swapping him. Too young for Blue Marvel probably, unless they write him young.

Step 1: Buy Icon from DC.

But seriously make him Taskmaster.

I'd be *very* interested in hearing why these other directors are turning this down...it concerns me a little bit, given the subject matter and overall importance of the film.

Not trying to see Black Panther with a bunch of fucking caveats.

There has been only one director reported to turn it down and that was Ava DuVernay. The other director that has been mentioned aside from Coogler is F. Gary Gray and there were scheduling conflicts with him. But Coogler has been in the running for this for awhile so I'm not sure what you're talking about.

He was in talks with both camps, and chose to go with Fast & Furious

Rocky was a great series though. Creed followed a successful entry, plus he had Stallone to help carry the film.

This is the MCU, where any hint of risk or creativity is prohibited. Ted Cruz would probably end up with the same Black Panther movie as Coogler.
