Cyberpunk 2077 Xbox Series S vs Switch 2 graphics comparison video

Very hard to compare due to the lighting and capture differences. But looking at the side-by-side section with the Chinese pagoda section, it appears the Xbox Series S has a higher base resolution but the Switch 2 has better end resolve due to the advantages DLSS has over FSR 2, such as less breakup in motion and fewer or no disocclusion artifacts.

XSS version is better(higher res/no dlss artifacts aka no shimmering edges), which is natural/normal considering xss is on 7nm process node and still draws 70W from the wall, while switch2, on 8nm is basically upclocked/upvolted handheld archi.
3,5x higher clocked cpu with more cores/threads and almost 2x stronger gpu work in xss favour, cp2077 at xss/switch2 settings perfectly fits into smaller vram pool so one disadvatange xss has over switch2(less ram) doesnt matter in this scenario at all, maybe hogwarts legacy switch2 version vs xss version might provide us with different/surprising results since i know for a fact its very vram heavy on pc- on 8gigs cards vs 12/16gigs it tends to either slow down massively or simply load textures much much later or not at all :)

switch2 version is still pretty good, and unless u nitpicking and trying to find those differences, u will be more than fine(ez to spot difference is 50 vs 1:59 in the vid where u get quick close up on those nasty edges and it isnt somewhere far away but right in front of our eyes so we "have to" see it).

S looks better but wouldn't be playing it on either of the consoles. Ones 5 year old hardware and the other is a handheld system, there's better ways to play this title.

The comparison is from a dubious source to say the least, and yet it seems that the XSS version is superior.

Personally, I'm interested in how the Switch2 works in Handheld mode but, for some reason, there's always only game footage in docked mode...🤷 where the results are also quite questionable.

In line with expectations, probability the Switch 2 is going to have a little bit better textures in some occasions.

I ain't giving that dude clicks.

What is the problem with him? He does great comparison videos, have been watching his content for years.

The quality of his videos are terrible.

The quality of the upload is quite bad. However, it's clear to see the better lighting, increased npc counts, better input resolution. The series s in quality mode runs at a dynamic 1440p. It's also curious as the comparison doesn't include driving which would show clear framerate differences between the two. Considering that from what we know right now, the switch 2 runs at sub 720p native resolution in quality mode, it's funny that even in performance mode, the series s has a higher average input resolution.

They both look blurry as fuck.
That's the uploaders fault. Based on other videos, they don't look as blurry.

That's not so surprising considering that using DLSS will likely incur an additional cost over regular TAA.

This is the reason I am concerned about the Switch 2 in year 3-4 of its life. If it's this far behind the Series S, how will it hold up as this gen matures and into next-gen consoles? :(

How did switch survive against the ps4 gen and most of ps5?

I'll clue you in, they release great games tailored to the switch. It will be fine.

They still release games for the PS4, when the Switch launched the PS3 was dead for ages, it will be fine

Now this is the comparisons I want to see... Last gen consoles, even the pro ones, can't stand their ground against Switch 2 and that's already obvious (even if in some cases the resolution is higher, which I haven't seen yet).

Some few things I saw.

NS2 Version:
Less scripted-NPC walking around. Static NPC seem to be statically placed so no change.
50% of the screen is cleanly upscaled DLSS then it devolves into the XSS smudge
The crime scene passby has a pourly upscaled moving hologram crime tape compared to XSS
The pole dancer inside the window is horribly rendered. Just plain blurry.

Dlss is doing a lot of work on the Switch 2

Seems they are cutting a lot of corners to reach acceptable performance

switch1 harv no aaa and sells 150 millions cus nintendos make 1 first party every month

now have all third parties aaa and peoples concern oohoohoo

That's because VFX are rendered at the original resolution on the Switch 2 version, as per CDPR words.

CPU is gonna be the bottleneck as expected compared to XSS, yet the higher RAM and Nvidia tech makes the geometry textures cleaner.

By being exactly the same as Switch. Obsolete hardware but at least okay for some jrpgs/1st party titles. There's no reason to play and 3rd party titles on switch/switch 2

People keep stating this...while totally ignoring memory bandwidth...

Switch 2 has 12% more memory available to developers compared to Series S....while having 55% less memory bandwidth in docked mode.... and 70% less memory bandwidth in portable mode.

Switch 2 GPU doesn't require nearly as much bandwidth as RDNA 2, not only because of Ampere but because Switch 2 DLSS and textures compression tech allows for way smaller files reducing the bw requirements by a lot (that's in the upscaler patent).

You can see how the textures look better on Switch 2, except for some neons which are probably being rendered at internal resolution as per CDPR statement that the VFX render at internal and not upscaled resolution.

If there's the something Switch 2 handles way better than XSS is the memory usage so far, not only single pool, but more capacity and not BW bottlenecked like the XSS might end up being due to the slower memory pool.

I'm an adult, I don't commute either. Why would I need a handheld to play games?
Moving the goal post as expected 😂… You said is outdated tech… You can give an example of a better value/Price at least compared to Switch 2 outdated tech.

The tell with Cyberpunk is when one gets into the action. The Switch 2 has the same basic death animations when people go down due to hardware limitations and no physics in play. The framerate also takes a hit and things get more blurry and artifacts happen thanks to the DLSS kicking in. The upside being that at least people get to play CP2077 in their hands, right? It's a huge world, and with the expansion packed into it, it'll hold people over a bit longer until Donkey Kong.

The better value here is the Steam Deck. I shut down the naysayers last week when I actually took that version for a spin. It's got more to it, animations are all there and it has options to change the graphics to run 60 fps. Cheaper games across the board and Steam sales. Some may balk at the truth, and if it helps you sleep better at night thinking you have a superior version of CP2077, go right ahead. I lived through the Wii U era, and this to me seems just like that only worse. The first party games are too damn expensive on the Switch 2. It'll have a good first month and then fall off like a rock. Queue the typical Nintendo damage control to come in and steer this baby off the rocks before Q4. I'm hoping for a free year of Online with every sale at the very least. It costs them nothing to do that. If it doesn't work, que the Mario Kart/Donkey Bundle by Q2 2026.

Ah, the goal moving post as expected. It's an hybrid system with a docked mode which will be already outdated not even mid cycle just like the switch. If you enjoy that, well good for you
