Cleared out Blighttown and not a single framedrop I experienced. Was a joy to play through, as always. Despite the previews saying that Blighttown ran smooth I had to see it for myself. It warms my heart to see the Switch handle the most notorious area of the last decade with ease. Been comparing it to the PS4-version and besides the framerate, it´s not that big of a difference. It lacks some graphical fidelity such as the fire and fog effects, but overall, it looks pretty darn great with a side by side comparison. And the audio compression, who received criticism for being muffled, feels exaggerated. I have played through roughly half of the game and I have only heard it once, and that was the narrator in the beginning when the camera pans towards the Asylum, which was the exact same clip Digital Foundry showed and pointed out in their video. The problem is, they made it sound like this issue is prominent throughout the game, which it clearly isn´t. The critic against the Switch-version so far feels like cherry picking, so that it can fuel the fanboys and their petty console crusader war and say: "Ha! See, the Switch runs on inferior hardware, lol, what a piece of shit."
