Aren't the fuckers doing a movie or serial tv?

Sony just needs to take their own head from their own ass, actually reveal some stuff, and they're back on track.
I don't get why they're so fucking secretive, but it seems they're starting to get some good competition so they'll have to reveal some hype stuff sooner rather than later.

Hoping it's real, as days gone was one of the best games of last gen, but also hoping it's not just a sole female lead character.

It's not that I dislike playing as a female, but I'm starting to get a bit bored of it. It seems to be almost every game, granted maybe it's the type of games I play but it's starting to get annoying.

As a white straight male I know I've been over represented for pretty much all prior eras of gaming, but it's now so rare (outside of games with character creators). I think the last game was death stranding, and prior to that was days gone. Even the xbox conference the other day the first 3 big trailers, all narrative adventures, were women. At least Alan wake seems to be 50/50, and the new character seems good.

Really, why? Hell, I'm latino, very visible one at that. I just don't want to see propaganda in my games.
How is choosing a female character propaganda? Would you also not read a book or watch a movie with a female lead? This is a fantastic way of limiting yourself...

It has nothing to do with the character per se, but all to do with the writing. I've had enough of Strong Woman That Needs No Man, I've seen enough ridiculous tiny thin women taking down men twice her weight and many times stronger than her, I've seen enough angry POC because racism. I've seen enough of "look at what this character identifies as". I've seen enough of "men toxic! Poo poo!". Hell, chubby cheeks and unbearable Alloy is so perfect that literally everyone wants to fuck her in that game. Enough.

There's no cultural value to those products, it's just worthless propaganda. You can continue onsuming product and waiting for next product, no one is stopping you.

You could cluster male leads in the same repeating patterns as well. How often have we seen the badass male type that can crush thousands of enemies without even getting a scratch? Isn´t that propaganda as well? Where is the "cultural value" in those type of characters?

If you want to see real propaganda I would recommend watching movies like Top gun

I don't care if you play as a girl, just make her attractive for fucks sake. Imagine if all male leads looked like Ron Jeremy, that's what we've been getting a lot of on the female side.

Another woman, how original..
You dont know that almost halve of the gamers are womans?
So you dont also like movies with a woman as a lead person? You dont read books if the lead person is a woman?

Anyway...If you dont like to play as a girl then you must have a problem to get a date with girls. Let it go, you will find one perhaps. But not with this mindset you have...😉

A man is physically powerful, a woman isn't. Even the most talented woman fighter gets destroyed by the most mediocre of mediocre male fighters. It's stupid to look at a woman in a fighting scene without some sort of power multiplier to even the scales, it's so retarded it breaks immersion.

I'm sorry that biological reality triggers you so much, but I've had enough of that stupidity. Again, you can continue consuming product, not making questions and waiting for next product, no one is stopping you.

I don't give a flying fuck WHO the lead is so long as we get a sequel.

A second game that fixed the first game's shortcomings would easily be my GOTY.

ah yes as a man Im capable of killing 100s of other man and crack jokes while doing so. My usual Friday...

Edit: and lets not forget: games have always to be grounded in reality.

Oh yeah, we need devs bold enough to cast Brave Strong Woman #4567 in a game. To me it's very close to a red flag nowadays if I see a woman or a poc as the main character in a game or movie from a western studio.
Exactly what I've been seeing. These are signals that the games narrative is in the gutter.

It really is immersion breaking. It's interesting to see that studios want to shoehorn women into being the very thing they are not, men. Writers should focus on what differentiates women from men, their femininity. All in all, this type of writing hurts actual women and femininity instead of helping.

The fuck you're talking about? I don't like when IPs change their main protagonist, funnily enough, it's always male -> female and it's becoming a trend. Not even mentioning how rare it is these days when a New protagonist is a straight white male. I'm free to express my discontent.

so no creative freedom? Sounds fun...

I have my doubts...I don't think Sony is up for this game.
If so it could mean drastic changes in the game to keep up with Sony modern audiences policies.

Kinda funny reading the opposite reactions on this thread. I started playing the game a week after it came out and got the Plat fast. Thought it was a great time (in hindsight the cut scenes were so cheesy they work) and would buy a sequel.

Listening to the guys who created the game you can tell how pissed they still are at Sony over this. The PR fucked them on this game. All the problems reviewers had were gone soon after it came out.
