With her book having such a great run then being cancelled in the next arc(as well as the earlier speculation that Batman would be a bit lighter when Bruce returned)

The big issue is Brett Booth's costume design. He does rather busy costumes that don't really translate over well to other artists. Plus, like many, he has ideas and designs he uses again and again.

Yes, Marvel's sales are down as well, but even when you remove Star Wars, Marvel's sales remain much higher than its competition. DC is tanking real hard. It's stars are Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn, and maybe Green Lantern. Making up the numbers is why they have the Batman weekly titles.
Nope and they only cover copies sold to retailers, not actual sales to customers.

DC has always been way behind Marvel in market share since like the 70s. Right now they are doing more poorly then normal but historically they have always been way behind. IIRC the only two times they surpassed Marvel was briefly in the late 90s when Marvel declared bankruptcy, briefly around when Infinite Crisis game out, and briefly during New-52.

DC's real problem is that people only care about Batman and that's probably not going to change anytime soon. I'm not sure how readers will react to the less popular books doubling shipping.
