The game glitched on me while taming Snowflake. I gave her three stakes, then the fight stopped. No cutscene triggered, she didn't move, nothing. I spent about 5 minutes trying to figure out what happened, then i remembered about my case file. I tried running back to the safe house, but i was too late. I restarted the story afterwards.

Did this happen to anyone else?

In the PC version, anyone else get a blinking mouse cursor in the middle of the screen? It's kind of distracting, if you hide it in a corner it'll just pop right back up whenever there's a button prompt, like when you talk to people, or check menus.

Edit: To clarify, I'm using a 360 controller to play the game.

Beat the game last night the an S ending and 39 survivors saved. I loved every minute of it. The Dead Rising series have just been so much fun for me. It's the goofy humor, the laugh-out-loud moments, and the gameplay that just promotes a great time, every time. Yes, there are some frustrating moments, but that also seems to go hand-in-hand with the series. :D

I find Dead Rising 1 sits closer to my heart than the sequel, but that's partly because of Frank West and the "Fellowship of the Ring effect*."

* This is my explanation for how a piece of entertainment is so much richer on its first venture, as it's the first time you are subjected to its story, environment, characters, etc. By the sequel, the wonder and excitement of this "new world" has now become familiar.

Four DLC Theme Packs for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of zombie smash-em-up Dead Rising 2 will be released over the course of the next month, Capcom's announced.

The four themes are insane psychopath, sleek ninja, crazy sports fanatic and kick-ass soldier. The announcement makes no mention of the PC version.

The Psychopath Theme Pack will be the first to release: 12th October on XBLA and 13th October on PSN. The Soldier of Fortune pack will follow a week later, the Sports Theme Pack a week after that, and the Ninja Theme Pack a week after that.

You'll be able to mix and match items from each pack. So, if you fancy it, you can wear the ninja shoes, sports fan hat, psycho jacket and Soldier of Fortune trousers. Snazzy.

The PlayStation Network and Xbox Live downloads include new skills, weapons and outfits for protagonist Chuck. Ninja Chuck, for example, will have a new stealth mode where zombies have to be much closer to him to detect his presenc

edit: updated.

Nope. Don't see anything like that at all.

Yeah I had it too. I tried to hit her, "talk" to her, throw more meat... it didn't react. I also tried to exit the room and enter it again, expecting the area loading to "reset" her but she had vanished when I came back.
I had to restart from the beginning to be able to tame her (and I had another minor bug while doing it : the cutscene ran twice in a row).

The end boss killed me about 5 times last night when I fought him I think they way you are meant to, I got peeved and didn't have a clue how to beat him, built the fire spitter and managed kill him with 7 shots left!

Im on overtime now but if I select restart story do I keep all my money/PP/combo cards?

Also is there any way I can view my ranking as it didn't come up after the credits?

Edit: On overtime mode is there a timelimit to complete the objectives or can I just take my time and mess about?

I tried to kill Snowflake and I got killed instead. I'm lvl50. I didn't want to waste my time taming her, but I wanted to get the survivor who won't come out until she's non-hostile. It seems it takes just as much effort to KILL her as it does to tame her, because the game is designed such that you can't easily "accidentally" kill Snowflake. Grrrrr.....

finish overtime mode, and you'll get a ranking.

there is a time limit, unfortunately.

So what are peoples favourite weapons? Mine is probably the plate launcher. Slices through crowds like crazy, it can clear out a whole area with a few well aimed shots. Can sometimes ricochet in entertaining ways as well. Using one on the silver strip is just carnage.
my favorite novelty weapon is probably the teslaball, or the electric wheelchair + LMG combo. however, i always keep a lightsaber, holy arms and tenderizer/knife gloves on me.

Okay I've had the guy with the knight helmet in the saferoom for a while then. How do I go about playing poker with him? I know the 3 girls ask you around case 5 or 6. When can you initiate a game with him. Also: does anyone know where I can find the Gambling 3 book? I've found the first two and need to grind out some money.

Raging Thunder is awesome, need to get that one.
How do you wear it yourself and not the zombies?

That's when they ask you. If he's not in the game, just quit the poker game and start a new one. I'd recommend saving before entering, however, as one game can chew up quite a bunch of time. You have to have saved a couple other survivors that also participate in the game.

I believe Gambling 3 is in the small casino joint along the east side of the strip. There's a mission you can do there sometime in the game with a man who just can't break away.

You can't wear Raging Thunder. That's just a regular blanka mask. In one of the toy stores you can find two types of masks. One is on the shelf and you wear it, the other is something you pick up and put on zombies. The one you pick up is what you make Raging Thunder with.

D'oh! Thanks duckroll. Man, I thought I'd move on after my marathon playthrough, but I keep thinking of this game, even though I have Lara Croft and Enslaved waiting for me... not to mention my attempt at finally finishing R&C:ToD!

Okay thanks. I thought the people playing poker were always the same. Cheers.

The knife gloves are great for boss fights, but the lightsaber is AMAZING for huge groups of zombies. Doing the advanced attack when you're in the middle of the crowd feels sooo satisfying. I'm also quite a fan of the gem blower because of how well it works in terms of clearing a straight line in front of you.

the plate launcher is even better for that.

Thanks for the answers somnific.

Just made raging thunder, with the combat +2 magazine I was getting 2000pp a burst in the crowds, very nice weapon.

Sweet. I have over a million dollars now from using the big slot machine and the gambling mags. Sometimes you just get these crazy winning sprees three or four times in a row. It makes all the losing worth it. Just had a few survivors fend off zombies while I used it. :lol I love this game.

Yet another question: Where can the chopper keys be found?

The pawn shop on the second floor of Palisen Mall.

Papercuts

I just went from level 49 to 50 in one toss of the tesla ball. That thing gets INSANE points, damn.

I'm just kidding man, I know a lot of people don't "get" Dead Rising. It makes me sad not everyone can enjoy these games as I do.

I can see how you may not like the time management aspect or the psychos, but you are not even enjoying the mindless zombie killing? Why would you even buy the game in the first place then.

I love this game dearly.

I'm about 8 (game) hours away from the end of my first session. Not a single dull moment, I don't want it to end but as soon as it does, I will start session 2. I tried TiR last night, it's nothing I'd sink a lot of time into but it's a fun distraction, like a hyper-violent, zombie focused Mario Party. I don't see what the point of player matches is, though, since they don't offer achievements or real cash.
It's been a fuckin blast, this is the sleeper hit of the year and has a good chance of being my GOTY when all is said and done.

final score: 1 out of 1

Finsihed the game and actually enjoyed it quite a bit. I have to say though that it was alot easier than the first game. I don't think I missed out on many side missions on my first playthrough (maybe 6), didn't have to restart the game and finished it with the S ending.

You can even ignore the time limits, so what's not to like?

Man I don't understand how you people kill so many zombies. Heh. I'm about to start day 3 and I think I have less than 600 kills. Maybe because I'm just trying to avoid them for the most part? That just goes to show that you and your survivors rarely need to worry about them. Except Wilma (the lazy construction worker). I hate her. She's the reason I was 1 survivor away from having 8 with me at a time and I had to return them all to the safehouse.

Two things I would have loved is weapons carrying over to the new game and a fucking game clock. I want to know how many hrs I've spent on this. Make gameclocks mandatory devs!

Game clocks can be both a blessing a curse. Yeah, I like knowing I've spent 50 hours in a game over the course of three days, but I also don't like knowing I've spent 50 hours in a game over the course of three days. :lol

The guy in the chapel was rough. He was fast as hell and did a lot of damage. I ended up grabbing a painkiller and just muscled my way through the fight, shrugging off any damage I received. It worked but I felt like I was almost cheating.

The Twins were pretty easy though. I lucked out and had a shotgun, I just kept unloading on one of the twins while walking backwards and by the time I ran out of ammmo it just took a few hits to take her out. I also lucked out and found a Zombrex, so I'm not worried about getting the next dose in time. Now I'm on to the mailman, anything I should bring along to make the fight a little easier (other then the normal boss weapons)?

He's pretty easy anyway but bring a quickstep if you can.

Go and talk to the girl behind the curtain to the side. She'll tell you what you need and where to get it.
