Katey is an ungrateful little madam. Just because the bear has a tear in it she refuses to accept its awesomeness? Should let her turn as punishment...

I'm afraid that since I brought her Snowflake, I've spoiled her for all future gifts.

So what is you guy's favorite outfit?

Personally, I love the coon skin hat with aviator glasses on the head, the go go boots and the nice little summer dress. It looks insane, especially with Chuck's hairy ass legs, I can't help but giggle when I see them in close ups in the cut scenes.

I've been wearing the Groucho Marx glasses, tourist outfit (or underwear) and flip-flops, it never gets old...
edit : and bald head, of course. :)

Does the knight outfit do anything special or is it just decoration?

If you get the full set and wear it all, it doubles your HP or something. Then as you get hit, the pieces fall off until you're left with your normal full HP, but in nothing but boxers. :)

Still not sure why I've never gotten the "Brains over Brawn" radio call. What time does it happen?

Also, what time can I enter the "Tape or Die" set? The door in the back of the sports store is always locked.

I finished up some goofing around playing recently today (now I've bought all the vehicle keys, and gotten 1,000 bike kills), and while I was on my way to the Palisades Mall, the game got stuck at the loading screen and I had to shut it down. Never had that happen before. I was also having a lot of weird pop-in during that particular play session (i.e. I'd walk into a store and the stuff inside it would take a second to appear).

I hope it isn't a sign of more serious problems.

Fairly early on, shortly after Leon turns up. They're a big group, so if you have 5 or more people still to be saved, they won't appear (8 survivor max on map). I missed Tape it or die as well, they're a pain in the arse.

Edit: fixed quote disaster

Ending A looked so much cooler than Ending S. Now I really wish I got that ending.

The only good thing about Ending S was
That FUCKING zombie which made me jump out of my skin.
:lol

So an update for the PC version just installed itself via GFWL. No idea what it did, though. It certainly didn't fix controller support.

Never got Brains over Brawn on this playthrough, really wanted the save 50 Survivor Achievement this time around. If I don't end up getting it, guess I'll wait a while until I can find a super detailed guide.

There is a limit of max. 8 NPCs which can spawn at the same time. This limit includes survivors, psychos (including hostages if there are any) and even the early pawn shop quest (visiting the shop on the silver strip the first time) + "hidden" survivors you don´t get any messages about.

So what are the hidden ones? I need to know for my fourth playthrough :p

I don't have the times handy. but there are quite a lot, mostly groups of 3 survivors at the same time like
3 "ladies of the night" in the Paliades Mall on top of the water slide. You have to pay them 10k or something or they won't follow you. I think that's on Day 3. Also on Day 3 (I think) is 3 poker players in one of the Casino's (I forget which one, it has a special poker room). You have to pay 100k to play poker and eliminate all three. When you do, you win 1 million and the survivors will follow you. On Day 1 there's a group of 3 woman in Kathy's Place (Royal Flush Plaza 2F). When the military arrives there are 2 survivors in the central cove of the Silver Strip. If you don't have any guns in your inventory they will follow you, otherwise they will shoot you.

I'm sure there are more, but this is by heart, so I'm bound to forget a few.

My fave outfit is probably the full Arthur Knight Armor (beard included) or the Shaun of the Dead outfit (not really SotD, but it looks like it). They call it Tattered Clothes in the game.

I wrote the timeline for my perfect run down, but messed up a little bit and bibi+hostages never spawned and finally ended up with 61 survivors rescued. :(

the hidden ones:
25/09 (Day 1)
- ~4:00AM
-- Ted & Snowflake at the Yucatana (or was it Yucatan? sorry, can´t remember) Casino. You need to tame Snowflake (counts as survivor) to spawn Lenny at the Yucatana Office.

26/09
- ~8.00AM
-- 3 survivors at "Kateys Space" (2nd floor Royal Flush Plaza)

- ~6:30PM
-- 1 survivor at the strip, near entrance to the Atlantica Casino. You need a gun (any will do: Handgun, LMG, whatever) to get him to follow.

27/09
- ~1:00AM
-- There is a big room with 2 doors, cameras and a poker table in the Atlantica Casino. You need to beat all 3 survivors in poker to follow you. This can cost quite a lot of time, so better collect a few gambling books to win faster.

- ~6:00AM
-- (Tape it or DIE) Kokonutz Sports Town (Pali..gnah, the other mall), first floor. There is a door which is normally locked. Bring a Cement Saw & Plates. They (4 survivors) can´t be rescued yet, but you will get a combo card and later another 2. Note: You need to follow the main cases trough Case 6 to get a message ("Tape it or DIE 2") to actually rescue them.

28/09
- ~9:00AM
-- 2 survivors. Only if you´re on Case 6-3 or later, they won´t spawn if you failed the main story earlier. At the center of fortune park, the small passage with a save toilet & a maintenance room - you need to drop all your weapons to approach them (you can pick them up again as soon as they follow you).

one important thing: All optional events (not only the hidden ones) do not spawn/trigger if you are in the same "zone". You need to leave the area and come back to actually allow them to trigger.

Edit: Better spoiler-tag that stuff.

Edit 2: I´m 99% sure, those snipers at Day 3 take up 2/8 NPC "slots" - so better get rid of them asap.

So, this thread is enormous, so my apologies for asking a question that has surely been answered on page #28 or something. :lol

I am playing through Case Zero right now, and it's a good time. However, the textures and frame rate are pretty bad. The game feels like a marginal first or second gen PS3 port.

Is the PC version enough of an improvement to bite on that instead? I really, really want to play this game, but I would have a better time if the game didn't chug constantly and many of the textures didn't look like some straight-up PS2 shit. It pulls me out of the game often.

I do not have an amazing gaming PC, but it does the job (it's a first gen m11x). Thanks!

The proper game looks quite a lot better than Case Zero. However, performance wise, it's largely even worse...

You can get two books called bargaining that will lower the cost to 1.6 million. Still a lot but I would look into those before you buy the SUV key and the Knight boots.

If you have a good friend have him join your game with the Bargain Book... and then give it to you and then leave. Rinse and repeat for 12 books and you will actually get 400K every time you purchase that key. :lol

Mohawk, superhero mask, suit of armor, flip-flops. Looks especially good when using Holy or Infernal Arms.

Also, I try to make it a point to enter cutscenes while wearing the Super Slicer.

Give all the Survivors weapons and maybe you won't need to actually do anything else in the game? I never used the leadership book so I don't know if they would kill each other?

Im rubbish at TIR, didnt win a single event last night and kept ending in 3rd place, all the games I joined had 1 really good player who spanked the rest of us :(

Uh...when you join a friend's game, you will have nothing in your inventory i thought?

If your playing your game and join him through the friend menu while playing you keep your inventory items for some reason.

Yeah I found that out when I was looking for some Achievement guides on trueachievements.com

I was always doing it wrong when joining from the main menu.

Haha, me too. So funny, especially in the more serious scenes.

I'm kind of lame when it comes to costumes because of the two missions where you have to change. I wear underwear until the first ones done and then change into tuxedo afterwards just to save myself a bit of time. :-/

So I can win nearly every game in TiR, 'cept the ones that require the use of the right trigger to shoot. It sucks ass. I've never not come overall first place in a TiR match, but whether or not I win a particular game is entirely down to the mercy of whether it requires the competent implementation of something that is already written for the developers by Microsoft and works in every other damn game ever.

Textures seem much better in the 360 version over Case Zero, or at least none are as noticeably poor. Frame rate is hit and miss. It's decent indoors but does fluctuate in the very large outdoor area; personally, it's still very playable and I don't have a PC that can play it as well as my 360. DR2 does have achievements and it's tied to your gamercard so if you have the rig, go for it; if anything, it's the loading that's the most annoying and I hear PC's have 5s waits while I have to sit for upwards of 30s.

The PC version is great. Higher resolution, 60 fps, 5 sec load times, no co-op bugs, supports kbm and controller, instant screenshots with fraps. All for 40 USD or less.

Nooo... starting to fall behind on my kill schedule for the achievement. Not sure what I'm doing differently, but it's not working any more.

I did the Genocide Master just two days ago, I found that getting around 2000-2500 kills then resetting the Zombies worked well.

I would use the Slot Ranch Casino to reset it, grab the cart to run to the SUV faster then go up and down the Strip, doing a couple circles around the Fortune Park. Stop back at Slot Ranch and reset it. On Day 3, especially the night leading into Day 4 a lot more zombies will be around, so your pace should pick up over that night. I was averaging 1250 kills every in-game hour.

I'm not sure if the patch for the PC version caused this, but after patching, and starting a game, the game alt-tabbed on its own 3 times while playing. On the third time getting back into the game, it crashed, losing a couple of levels =/. Only other games this has happened in is TF2,HL2, not sure why. I was using the wired 360 controller.

How are people affording the SUV? I just beat the game with an S rank and have nowhere near the cash for it.
You grab 3 Gambling books and go to the big slot machine in Slot Ranch Casino, Bet $1,000 over and over.
