goddamn, each time someone posts a new set of screens the game just looks consistently better and better. It's amazing that these shots have done a much better job of getting me excited than any official media to date.

Guerrilla is making a fantasy RPG apperently
Really?? Uuuuuugghhh. The story is going to horrible in that game. GG has the worst writing and narrative direction of any AAA studio out there.

Anyway, Infamous. Here's hoping the game is even a fraction as fun to play as it is gorgeous.

Is this topic just about the graphics?
sorry but good open world action games really are not made by graphic. What really matter is how alive the world feels, how much you have to do in it without being repetitve and how much you get motivated to explore every detail of it.

For me open world action games really have to problem of becoming boring very fast because of repetitive elements. The only games that really got me hooked are AC2 and RDR besides GTA:VC

Got Infamous 2 trough PS+ and quitted after about half an hour, so i wouldnt buy Second Son just because it looks nice

The difference between Infamous and GTA, RDR, and my fav franchise AC is Infamous gives you a playground to make you feel like a superhero-esque badass. It's not a game where you stop and smell the roses. There is no real reason for Infamous to be the same sandbox as GTA or RDR.

Strange though...even though I love AC it's about as repetitive as you can get in an open world setting. That goes for all AC titles.

For all your rambling about gameplay, you sure as hell didn't give inFamous 2 a chance. The game improves constantly with all the new powers you keep getting and there's plenty of variety in different types of missions. You hadn't really seen anything if you only played half an hour of it (do you even get much farther than the intro with the beast in half an hour?).The game doesn't really feel the same by the end as it does in the start.

Also, this is a graphics related thread where graphics are discussed about. Gameplay & the game overall are discussed in the Official Thread & the spoiler thread. And, just as a btw, the game has been getting plenty of great gameplay impressions and people saying it's a more or less big jump over the previous two (and a half) games in the franchise. It's pretty evident from the videos already that they've made plenty of improvements into the gameplay, especially how you can move/traverse with Delsin (which affects other aspects of gameplay, like combat).

Its just too bad watchdogs will have superior gameplay, which is what matters anyway.
The two aren't really comparable in the gameplay department. Watch_Dogs seems to have more emphasis on stealth, inFamous is more IN YOUR FACE action. Both can be equally great at what they do and it only comes down to preference which you like more. So I doubt Watch_Dogs' gameplay can be said to be ultimately superior. For some inFamous with all its destruction & mayhem & super-powers-influenced traversal will be the more fun game, others might like the slower-paced hacker/stealth-gameplay of Watch_Doge more.

Besides, it's a Ubisoft game. They are very hit & miss with their games and Watch_Dogs was already delayed once due to it not being on par with even Ubisoft sometimes not-the-highest standards. You can't really say it at this point that Watch_Dogs has the better gameplay when we haven't really seen too much of the (current state of the) game.

They hired the write of fallout new vegas for it

Is it weird to you that two games can have different gameplay in the same genre? I can enjoy Watch Dogs and Infamous at the same time. Is it weird that I'm excited for both? How about if I tell you I like vanilla and chocolate, would your face melt?

Its just too bad chocolate will have superior taste, which is what matters anyway.

Thankfully they hired someone that's still not in high school, as mentioned above. How GG still has such terrible writers and why they didn't replace them long ago.. no one knows. You have to wonder why the series has such an interesting lore and such shit actual execution behind it. :\

As I said...
No it isn't. Graphics for the most part are not part opinion based. I guess you must the guy who tells a math professor 2+2=5 but you can't be wrong.. because it's your opinion?

If you're talking about its reveal graphics, there's a discussion to be had in place. But now with what we saw, not really. I still think Watch_Dogs looks great, it just doesn't look as good as this.

DrBo42, can you give some quick impressions on how the game plays? Do you like, enjoying it, etc? Don't spoil anything for me, something was spoiled (I think) for me in one of the inFamous threads and I'm not going into any of them until the game is out (other than this one). You play the previous two, do you see this as an improvement?

I love that even though these screens are unbelievably good looking, that there's a dynamic element to a lot of it that we can't see through the shots. Like the way puddles of water evaporate over time, for example.

They really should be proud of what they achieved here. In the span of only a few months after PS4 launched, they have a game out that is one of the most beautiful open world titles ever developed. It's the perfect game to showcase how bright the future is from a visual perspective, and put to rest for yet one more generation the diminishing returns argument. Because good goddamn at these screenshots.

Edit: Oh god Tim Dog just started following me on twitter, it's a sign of the apoclaypse @_@

well said! I agree

I really wish I could understand how some of theses people can live their lives with these crazy thought processes..It's really fucking annoying to see some of these stupid comments. Can some of you think for a second?

why would they take note? i care more about this lost art they the console wars have made us forget about.... no not fps, no not 1080p, actual gameplay
This is a thread about graphics.....and guess what? Games can have good gameplay AND graphics at the same time. Crazy, I know.
Again, i will let the gameplay do the talking...i wish people would stop acting like graphics is the end all be all of video games ...how is the graphics the selling point? are you just going to pop the game in and stare at it?

I wish people wouldnt make these threads without playing both

This is a thread about the....graphics. Can you point out the people who are acting like graphics is the end all be all?

This is a thread about the....graphics. And how can you know the ins and outs of the gameplay within 30 minutes? And how do you base the entire new game in the series off of that 30 minutes of the last game? As someone who plays fighting and action games all the time, this makes no sense at all.
Its just too bad watchdogs will have superior gameplay, which is what matters anyway.
Have you played Watch Dogs...?

Comments like these just drive me crazy. Think about what thread you enter and what you're typing.

Yeah i just did another 30 minutes of researching this game from all the available media thus far and i just keep getting more amazed at what SP has done with this game. The in-game effects are just marvelous. I especially like the smoke effects from balls of fire during day time environments..the thick lush black inky smoke looks phenomenal.

Also another thing i really dig is the textures being used in this game. Materials textures used for cloths are so perfect..photo-realistic in all honesty along with the textures used on environments seem as if you could literally touch them with your hands..that's how good they look..best way i can explain it i guess.

The game is definitely worthy of purchase and the story seems to have some soul to it finally ..which will help make this game more engaging.

It's the beanie that makes it God tier work :)

Once again the master nails it :)

The lighting in this game is one of those features that defines next gen for me, subtle in one sense but once you've seen it everything else just looks wrong and 'last gen'. It also opens up the possibility for new game mechanics such as was once seen in Dark Souls 2 (ie see where I'm going or have a shield ready to defend myself). Or imagine a Battlefield game where illumination flares or NV goggles were a necessity to fight at night with dozens of dynamic light sources from muzzle flashes and fires illuminating the field?
