Death Stranding 2: On the Beach |OT| Ain't That A Beach

Really enjoying it, like other have said, it reminds me of phantom pain alot.

Sat at work day dreaming about plotting routes, cooome on 5pm, this evening is a dangerous time to be a package that needs delivering

What a magical game this is. The progression feels so good, even after 12 hours im constantly getting new shit. I also loving the improved combat, so satsfying and you have so many tools now. Fucking incredible game and so addicting to play. Probably gonna 100% it

I'll be jumping in 4th of July weekend. Seems like the perfect game to lose yourself in over a three day vacation.

Also adamsapple adamsapple and the rest of you unnecessary speedy spergs will already be done by then so the thread will be mine. My precious.

Oh I'm probably around that time too. It'll be a couple of days before I get the game, but I just started Raidou Remastered and will see that through first before starting this anyway.

Played for about 2 hours last night. Really enjoying my time with it so far. Plotting routes is cool. I wonder how crazy I will get with that though.

For the first mission I decided not to encounter the one area with Bandits. It's good to see them ahead of time and plan accordingly, especially if you're low on supplies.

I don't usually play sequels without first finishing the original titles first, but to let others know, you can just watch IGN's 15 minute recap from a couple years ago . Felt like I would be okay to start DS2 without finishing in that case, but I plan to at some point anyway just because.

The opening is outstanding!

I actually thought the beginning was drone footage of the real world because the photo realism and lighting are incredible. Then the seamless transition into gameplay ... the music...the visuals...the atmosphere...and of course the TRAVERSAL!

The first shots of the opening are CGI though

Does this game have a feature where you can "link" with your friends which enables you to share more items between worlds?

I thought the first game had that but I may have dreamt it

Adult life sucks ass

IMG-2065.jpg
my 10 year old thinks adult life is amazing because i can buy whatever games I want.

meanwhile he wakes up at 12 then plays games all day until midnight since he's on summer break for three fucking months while i slave away on my laptop nitpicking video games all day on neogaf.

Random question. I'm 20 hours into DS1 and I like it. My friend that I "gameshare" with on PS5 is getting DS2. I read some review saying the overall gameplay experience is similar. Should I just watch a story recap of DS1 and move directly onto DS2 so I don't get burnt out?
I recently finished Ds1 directors cut on ps5 and I love it. You may play it first before ds2 but as excellent is DS1 you may burn out a bit. But you can also play it after Ds2 to make it feel like playing a prequel and to be more immerse to the lore of DS world.

Does the initial machine gun kill enemies and cause voidouts?

I think i didn't killed a single dude in the first one to avoid that shit.

Also, there is a way to turn off the bullet time you kill\ko an enemy, i saw some footage and i can see how that would get very boring, very fast.

SlimySnake SlimySnake find a summer job for your son dude, i was (literally) breaking my bones at 11 in the summer instead of having fun :lollipop_squinting: but i was also able to buy the fuck i wanted, 3 weeks and he is not gonna speak anymore about how great it is to growup :lollipop_grinning_sweat:

I'm addicted to road construction again.
that was my favorite part of the first game until i unlocked the zip lines.

When playing the directors cut on my second playthrough, i promised myself that i wont haul cement and metal to all those highways, but i couldnt help myself. I then built the entire new mountain highway by myself and fell in love with the game all over again.

Can you add your own stuff just like in MGS5?
You can create your own playlist with the available songs, even adjust the volume of it and can listen to it anywhere. You can probably get more songs while you play the game i assume

Fucking morons on youtube spoiled the plot twist in the video title...though quite predictable if I can say.

I dont think the slow mo happens on every kill though i might be misremembering. IIRC, it only happens on headshots.

The first game had non-lethal versions of all assualt rifles, shotguns and pistols. They essentially fired rubber bullets that worked like actual bullets. i dont think i had a single voidout and i played the entire game like rambo.

Yeah i used guns sometimes in the first game with rubber bullets but didn't killed anyone i think, but the shooting was beyond terrible so i stopped doing that and just avoided confrontation.

I just wanted to know if the first gun you get in the sequel is a non-lethal gun because i want to try this supposedly much improved combat even if from the videos look about the same :lollipop_squinting:

It was kind of a stupid question of me I think, because 1. Most people don't use mp3's anymore and 2. PS5 probably doesn't really have the option anyway for local music? I hope they add it later on pc though. Was always funny to have some heavy metal blasting out of the chopper when you called it in in MGS5 or Ride of the Valkyries.

Played for 3 hrs today.

Think I am now near the end of chapter 1

Spoiler: where I am currently in the game, in chapter 1.
Defeated what I think is the first boss. Have to now go back home carrying a present for lou. Also poor Sam, he was genuinely excited to meet him. Atleast he got his wish, his own beach

The combat is vastly improved. It feels more snappy, enemy AI seems faster and guns feel more usable. Stealth, shooting and even melee have significant improvements compared to DS1. It almost feels like play phantom pain, infact the movement and gunplay is better than phantom pain, imo.

It's more satisfying to capture enemy bases now.

Happy I finally unlocked the ability to craft the first vehicle.

Been doing my best to get s-rank in every mission so far. Hope to continue that

Will probably spend time tomorrow grinding a bit, doing Aid requests and increasing connection stars.

Most of my stats are already lvl 3, one is lvl 4 and soon to be lvl 5. Don't think I need to grind them at all, infact will say that it is increasing faster than I expected.

Vehicles are also improved, love the animation of the suspensions.

With Kojima games i am always waiting for the "Raiden" moment and when it doesn't come in a little disappointed. It's a personal issue.

I hoped you would only play as Sam for the first hour or two and then you play as Tomorrow (who in my mind was grown up Lou) since one of the taglines was 'tomorrow is in your hands' (as in the controller)
