Destiny 2 PC performance thread

So I didn't have any issues in the beta, but i'm getting hard lockups every 10-15 minutes that require me to hard reboot (nothing responsive, frozen image, can't even toggle numlock lol). No errors even in event logs, not sure what it could be. Below are my specs:

I7 5930k
16gb ddr4 2666 memory
2x Gtx 1080s in sli (running today's new driver for d2 release)
1440p 144hz gsync monitor

Had my video cards over clocked, dialed it down significantly and no change. Anyone else see similar behavior?

Pretty nice getting a locked 120fps at 1440p maxed with my 1080ti and 7700k. The game really isn't very impressive looking though so not too big a surprise.

Not sure how I feel about the game yet.

And why would I want them?
I fixed my HDR issue. For some reason I have to use'm blown away to be honest. It looked good before HDR was enabled but wow does it look insane now. Took a pic on my phone doesn't really do it justice. I am loving this game. It runs like a fucking dream on my PC

i7-7700 @ 3.6ghz
16GB DDR4 RAM
GTX 1070 8GB
1080p, 144hz monitor
Near-Max settings (small tweaks): Chromatic aberration, motion blur, film grain off. FXAA, 4x texture filtering, HDAO. Light Shafts, Shadows, DoF = Medium.

144fps. Smooth as butter. Fantastic visually.

I have a similar setup. What kind of fps are you getting?

Here you go everybody:

EDIT: I tried to stream this but for some reason ShadowPlay wasn't working, and OBS kept kicking me out. Weird. Will try again tomorrow.

For the most part everything is buttery smooth at 80-144fps but when things get crazy it dips down into the mid 50s which is a pretty big discrepancy.

980ti i72600k@4.0 16gb ram. 1080p

Wonder if my cpu is just showing it's age.

At 1080p on high settings with a GTX 1070 / i7-4790k @ 4.00 GHz / 16GB DDR3, my game dips to the mid 40s when I'm exploring certain parts of the European Dead Zone. I tried setting some things to medium like shadows and light shafts, but still getting major dips. I've got the game installed on a Samsung EVO SSD.

Game was running great until I got to the EDZ. Tons of hitching now and is literally unplayable. Even crucible is rough. All the content prior to the shard was at a constant 60fps.

I7-870
GeForce 970 4GB
8GB RAM

My CPU is old and I guess it can’t handle the AI in the large zones along with other players.

Same issue here. Getting to the EDZ absolutely ruined my framerates. I have an i7-6600k. Maybe it's a game problem.

I'm still skeptical about getting this game after hearing from friends there isn't much to do on the PS4 version.

Has the image quality or performance for the game improved at all since the last open beta?

I wouldn't say it's unplayable for me, but same thing happened to me where the game ran flawless then in EDZ it feels like I'm getting a small micro-stutter when moving my mouse. It's not low FPS because in-game it's always 60+ but it just feels hitchy and not smooth at all.

Hmm...could be. I rebooted and the edz was fine but after 5-10 minutes it was hitching bad again.

Seems like it's a game issue, then. Hopefully it gets patched soon.

I noticed that once I start doing a public event or 2, my FPS would start dipping. Reboot the game and everything goes back to being fine.

So I'm having an fps issue. Performance is rock solid for about 15 minutes or so until the fps starts to degrade even in the exact same areas as it was 60. It's really puzzling me as I can hold 60fps even with a full lobby and tons of crap going on but when performance starts degrading it doesn't matter where I am, even in the menus it will never be a solid 60. When it degrades I really mean it degrades. The fps steadily gets worse as if my gpu can't keep up or something. After closing the game out and booting it back up it's rock solid again till it starts to degrade again... I can't figure it out. Would a memory leak cause this?

Somethings definitely up with the game. Seems a few people on this page (myself included) are having the same issue.

anyone still having judder or frame pacing issues while using gsync?

I've tried all windowed/boderless/fullscreen options, with vsync off and on and i cannot get rid of the judder

I get frame rate drops on titan too so it's not just on earth.

Edit: Oh wow it's really bad on titan. This sucks :(
Ok that sucks for sure because even on Xbox one I’ve never seen any slowdown on titan except when doing the wizard event to its highest level with max players and supers then it drops but still not like in the trostland event.

Damn, I was going to come in here praising the hell out of this port as it's buttery smooth at 60fps for me... Havnt hit the European zone yet tho!

I had the stuttering in the EDZ (i7 3770k@4.1 16GB RAM, GTX1080,@ 1080/144)
Setting my monitor to 60hz completely eliminated it, but then I put it back to 144hz and overclocked my CPU to 4.2 and it seems better, although I need more testing really.
Some bits like when you're on your own feel fine when it's at like 90 to 100 fps, but other bits with lots of players even though the game is reporting similar fps feel rough.
Maybe my CPU is showing it's age.

Were super excited to play at around 120-144 in the first Missiona etc. Settings were mostly high with some on medium or stuff like grain off. Then I hit EDZ.. Mostly Medium to Low and still only between 60 - 100 FPS. It even occasionally dips to low 50 while in public events. Hope the other ones are better or get fixed. Maybe beta treated me to well and I had too high hopes for this.

EDZ area seems to be testing. The open areas in particular, inside everything is fine, 144fps no dips.

When in the outside areas, can go as low as 100.

Expected this to run north of 100 fps at all times on my new 1080 Ti @ 1080p but the EDZ says otherwise. Gonna OC my 6600k a bit, see if that makes a difference.
Any taxing settings to lower? Do we know if there is gonna be an nVidia guide?

Getting some stutter when looking around with the mouse as well in the EDZ. Going back to orbit and then to the EDZ seems to fix it, so unsure if it's a memory leak. Definitely a more taxing area than the opening of the game, but haven't seen it drop under 60fps yet.

Just popped in to report this as well. 2 of my buddies had the same stutter going on, GTX1080ti, GTX1080 and a GTX970.

Something is off, janky as fuck.

Was running fine at uncapped framerate (100+fps on 144hz monitor) till I got to the group areas and now when things get hectic my fps drops to 40-50. Had to enable a 60fps cap, i think my cpu is the bottleneck. Cant wait till the 8700k is in stock.

Slowly starting to understand the 6 week delay for PC. Don't even want to try and imagine what it would he like if they'd release simultaneously.

The EDZ is definitely making my overclocked 2550k sweat, but people on newer hardware seem to be having issues too?

I have the same problem but cpu and gpu usage is well below 50% when this happens.
No problems in "solo" missions, 100+ fps.

Performance degrading overtime is probably a memory leak. Try playing 20-30 mins in the first edz area and your fps will go below 15.

It's just a poorly optimized port.

I get less than 60fps if I bump up to 150% and max out with a 5820k and a 1080 so I just leave the res slider at 100%

I am at 1440p anyway so looks v good as it is.

Hmmm strange. Im on a 4790k and 980ti and was in the EDZ for atleast an hour and no issues at all. GSYNC might have disguised it though but I don't remember seeing the counter go below 70 once.

game is running solid for me. no crashes or framerate drops. been to EDZ/titan. just about to go to Nessus now.

it's actually quite impressive how smooth it is with so much going on. i keep expecting frame drops but nope.
