out of curiosity, how many hard atheon runs did it take most people here to get Vex? I've beaten Atheon on hard probably six or seven times and no luck. I've played w/ many who've gotten it on their second or third try. Gave it three shots this week
I did Hard Atheon 2x in a row a few days ago.
Round 1. LiK got the Vex
Round 2. LiK got the Vex again and also got a GHorn and Xur was still around so it became an UberGHorn.
I got nothing again...
I like the perk. With only 3 rounds, it's much more likely that I'm NOT going to get three precision shots on a major that fast. I'd rather have the buff.

Though on my very first week I got voc, corrective measure, found verdict and Atheon's epilogue. Got vex before I got timepiece, fatebringer and foil. But finally have all the Vog weaps!
we had a 28 with us yesterday and he did great but was getting one shot by knights
26/27 could be tricky (if it's even possible)

Boss mechanics
NPC Gaurdian ally fighting sequence (like a strike)
Neutral farmable/dangerous fauna.
Hell, how about an escort mission.
Anything other than the 20+ wave defense horde mode missions. It's quite shocking and frankly embarrassing they wouldn't have any variety to the campaign mission structure.

Got mine on my first or second. RNG is so random though, probably like 40 hard mode kills and no Fatebringer yet ive gotten at least 7 Vex.

Random question - if you loot the gorgon chest on normal, does it give additional loot on hard? I honestly can't remember, but I thought that's the only chest that pays out twice.
I actually like the defense horde mode missions. This game is at its best when it's all about the gunplay, imo. I hated the gorgon/jumping maze crap of VoG.

Took me about 10 tries, now it drops constantly. I must have dismantled 4 or 5 by now
Wish Hawkmoon dropped that often.

Tho I gotta say I'm not sure I ever hit 3 crits on a hive major. So it's really not that much of a big deal.

Speaking of bugs like this I wanted to mention to anyone who hadn't tried this before, but explosive rounds pretty much sucks so if you find a gun with it you should know some stuff.
I found a b line trauma with firefly and explosive rounds. It also has critical reload. Now you would think this would be great but the explosive rounds screws up most criticals and doesn't register as critical because it spreads the damage. This therefore screws up firefly and critical reload, making the other perks useless.... Soooo lame. Some firefly and reload do occur but it's pretty much random
Beware.
On the other hand explosive rds seem ok in pvp seem to mess up your opponents ability to shoot back

I've beaten atheon hard 3 times and got vex twice
its the only exotic I've gotten lucky on
the rest of mine are bought from Xur or exotic bounties
i got no land beyond and universal remote from crota :|

Crucible Rank 3 almost achieved. About 500 rep to go. Will need 48 more marks for the Saterienne Rapier so it should line up perfectly. Have 102 banked right now. Need to wait for reset to get more marks.
Eris Rank 3 I am still about 1100 rep away. Then can get another character to 32. Really happy with my rolls. Exorics really boost the armour arrangements. Not looking forward to farming black wax idols which will likely become a thing soon enough.
So this week Saterienne Rapier and second character to 32. That will make me happy enough. Will see what else comes. I'm just pumped for those things. Feels nice to know they are guaranteed in the end versus RNG. My RNG wish is the Helm of Saint 14 or The Glasshouse.

First world problems: can't start upgrading my new Vex until I finish getting my new Gjallarhorn to 331.
I don't think so. Agree with they look and act the same. Tried comparing them and they don't seem different other then damage output.

Yeah I'm sure that's how most people feel. I'll probably still buy it since I'm awful with sniper rifles but I just wanted to make sure I knew my options.

I haven't fired my Hezen in a while but my initial impression is that it was the same. Maybe a little more radius, if...IF anything.
Or maybe it just sounds a little louder...?

Hawkmoons everywhere, and anyone who doesn't have a Hawkmoon has a Thorn.
What really confuses me is that I know Hawkmoons are just a RNG drop, so how does everyone have them? Or at least everyone I keep getting pitting against.
Made for some rough matches, too. Hawkmoon is the kind of weapon that if someone catches you off guard with one, chances are you are dead before you can react.

That would be nice. Would love the sparrow races and NPC ally helping out. Even an escort mission sounds like it could be fun. I thought CE was supposed to have a sparrow run away section from a huge ogre or something like that?
