Destiny - What do you think the next 6 months will look like?

I love the universe they've created so much, I hope they really start delivering on the story aspect.

I feel that House of Wolves will be very similar in scope as The Dark Below. Very little actual new content/areas. Lots of recycled stuff still.

I don't think any thing will actually change much until the rumored Comet hits.

Even with Comet, I don't have my hopes set very high.

Yeap...

These two last weeks seems to be the biggest drop in Destiny population (PS4 here)... before that until mid March it was crazy active yet.

HoW needed to be released in March to give more fresh things to the game. And a new update in July.

Expansions can't take so long for these type of games.

I do know that Destiny 2 will be freaking amazing and I expect big things from Comet.

Don't get your hopes up!

Only way Destiny 2 will be leaps and bounds better is if they drop 360 and PS3 support and really push the boundaries on the XB1 and PS4.

This is wholly a personal feeling, but I'm kind of glad I have some extra time before the new content comes. The next few months will be basically used as catch-up time to get myself ready for the new stuff coming. I just very recently got into playing Destiny as my go to game when I turn the system on, which of course means I'm way behind people who have been playing steady since launch. I'm still working on hitting lvl 26 and being able to do VoG and work my way to heroic modes and TDB raid.

So personally I'm happy I have some time to get myself to be ready for the new stuff and be able to consume it at launch. By the end of today I should be able to buy my first piece of vanguard armor and hopefully it brings me from 25 to 26, then I can start trying to find some you old timers that are willing to put up with a fresh scrub for the higher stuff. I have that beginner raid signup page bookmarked, and I'm just waiting till I hit the proper level and I'll definitely be signing up for that.

That said however, if I was one of you old guard who's done and ground out all the current content, I completely understand if you're burned out or just tired of it by now and ready for some new stuff to do. If I was where you are, I would most likely feel the same.

They will either outsource to a different studio or drop support. Don't be so pessimistic Axo ;)

I stopped playing around the end of January, every character is 32 or 31 and I have every all but maybe 2 exotics.

nothing left for me until they release new content.

Still one of my favorite games of all time.

I quit playing months ago. Never bothered to complete crota hard mode.
I miss playing destiny though. But i really don't have any reason to go back.

Some of the guys i used to play with still play on a daily basis.

it's unfortunate how new economies were introduced post-dlc that seemingly limit player progress. The grind just doesn't make sense...

What are destiny's platers going to be doing the next 6 months?

Probably the exxxaaacct same stuff theyve been doing the LAST six months.

I think HoW on May 19
Comet in Early September

I think Bungie is trying to both maintain the characteristics of Destiny that people like and also reduce the "grindy-ness" so that it appeals more to their old Halo fan base.

I have heard there are a lot of people working on Comet and I hope it's good.

Still enjoy playing it, probably going to buy all the next expansions. Don't think I'll burnout anytime soon since I like Destiny for the gameplay and my life doesn't revolve around drops and loot.
I won't definitely stick around for Destiny 2 though: they've showed complete disregard for the community and butchered the structure of the game and the plot to fit their moneygrabbing dlc schemes.
By the time the next game comes, I'll be knee deep into Mass Effect 4 multiplayer. At the moment there's simply nothing else this fun and this good to play.

They better drop last gen for Destiny 2. Either that, or keep it separate. They're anchoring the first game enough as is.

The game has lost a lot of players, especially since Bloodborne came out. The Community thread is basically dead nowadays, but there's still a gang of us keeping it going.

I myself find I'm spending less time playing, I have the guns I want, I have the gear I want, but I just find myself with nothing to do with them all

I still do my 3x Nightfalls a week, but when all I continually get is Ass Mats and Coins to spend on Xur who rarely brings anything, I find myself asking what is the point anymore?

I am dying to spend more time with this game, but Bungie aren't doing themselves any favours. They hardly talk to the community, yeah there's Deej but to fair when was the last time he said anything worth of note? Their weekly updates are most of the time laughable

Don't know about the next 6 months, but it will take them 6 years at this pace to get me interested again. By that time there will probably be a vr mmo and i will have no time for this crap.

I did that by the end of november. Never bothered with the Hive extension because :
- amazingly over priced for such small revelant content (PVP maps, don't care, two very poor strikes : no even new bosses, just reskins, poor missions, few and poor new exo,and a descent raid. No way I pay money for the raid.
- terrible upgrade system for the weapons : took a hard shit on dedicated player, and made newbie got better toys for less and the new armor at the shop made irrevalent all the hard VoG runs.
- Bungie still not fixing any bugs. They just and ONLY fixed heavy ammo and made a terrible vault space extension a couple of weeks ago.

No sorry destiny was great fun but Bungie is really taking fans for stupids people with how they handle destiny patch and content. They really are too slow, too out of touch with the community and they talk a lot during weekly updates to say nothing and do even less.

it will take a MIRACLE for House of Wolves to raise the bar and I'm not even sure I could go back even if Comet and whatknot are rocking amazing content
I agree with everything you just said, but the shooting is so damn fun so I kept playing until just recently. It really is that simple.

Bungie will get better. They accidentally made a game that is bigger than them and have been scrambling to keep up ever since.

Stopped playing almost 2 months ago. Deleted it off of my PS4 just yesterday, actually. Good riddance.

I enjoy playing now with new people or to help people. But not that much. All 3 chars are 32, only missing the 4th Horseman
and who cares
. Haven't done a Nightfall in weeks, weeklies are tedious.

Enjoy raiding, but haven't played HM Crota in for what seems like ever.

I know the guys are working hard - and whenever cynical me takes over and I think it's some sort of an experiment, I tend to agree with E92 that the subsequent efforts will likely be fantastic. They've gotten a ton of feedback, they have stupendous resources.

Make it great, guys.

Meanwhile, back to Bloodborne and the ever growing backlog

The part that Bungie fucked up was opening the CE raid to all level 30s right away. If they would have made people grind to 31 to get in, and hit 32 to even attempt CE on hard, the last dlc wouldn't have felt as shallow as it does.

We had raid completion videos up within 2 hours...That's what made VoG so good was the build up to raid, not just "here another raid and an extra strike see you in May"

I ended up quitting in January because There is literally nothing to do besides Iron Banner. Hopefully HoW makes me want to stay longer that DB.

Hyping up Destiny 2!

"Come on guys, we promise is will be good this time! We promise to actually finish a game and gives players a respectable amount of content out of the box!"

If they don't get HoW out soon they'll lose a ton of people. I haven't touched the game (outside of visiting Xur) the last two weeks. That's the longest I have not played it since launch. There isn't much coming out in April/May sans MKX and Witcher3. They need to get HoW out asap.

Honestly this mirrors how I feel fairly well except I'm extra pissed off because I bought the season pass the week before the Crota DLC. I bought it as I thought the 'marks for mats' patch heralded the arrival of a Bungie that didn't see it's customers as marks whose time is theirs to waste. Boy was I wrong, the reset of legendaries meant I quit then (because I don't like having all of my time wasted) and only got back in as a friend needed a hand after buying the game in Feb.

The shotgun patch kept me in because it actually materially changed the game experience unlike the DLC until I got most of my gear and got a new Warlock to 31 and the rest of the crew to 31. I've stopped as I don't have a regular raid crew but I keep an eye on 'Xursday' just in case Bungie ever drop Gjallerhorn again.

HoW will hopefully avoid the same mistakes, I believe a Bungie dev dropped into the DGAF community thread to confirm that they won't pull that shit again. I am still quite wary of a company that will admit errors on 3rd party web forums but continues to employ Pravda levels of transparency on their own website. We'll see but if HoW is the same weak beer as Crota I'll be very reluctant to spring for 'Comet' or Destiny 2.

This game fucking blows and cannot be fixed with expansions.

And yes, I still played the shit out of it for a few months.

They need to just shelve it and work on Destiny 2. Too much bad word of mouth and negative reaction--both from players and the press--to everything they've done so far.

It's going to look like more half assed content packages being released as "expansion packs". I can't wait for the next 3 story missions, 2 strikes (I don't care about raids), but how can I forget about the new currencies, crafting materials and endless grind introduced in each DLC. I'll play the next one because I bought the season pass but they'll have to do a lot more to rope me into the next one. Destiny has been generally disappointing compared to the original premise and advertising, the one thing it nails is combat.

Aren't you glad you can do it all again once your loot gets worthless?

I quit playing months ago. Never bothered to complete crota hard mode.
I miss playing destiny though. But i really don't have any reason to go back.

Basically. I sold Destiny because I was fed up with their stupid design decisions and the lack of content, but I also really enjoyed playing it and want so badly for it to be a better game.

I will likely rebuy at the end of the year when everything is packaged together and the game feels complete.

Empty.. every day more players get tired of the game, and almost everyone from day one has every exotic, theres is no point in playing it anymore.

I was steady playing from release until about a month ago. The game play and friends were enough for me to clock in over 400 hours. I probably won't be playing again until HoW comes out.

If the game had strikes that were generated like Diablo 3 rifts that would be cool as hell.

I would never expect it to happen though.

I would basically want an adventure mode like Diablo 3, and rifts like diablo 3

basically an endless mode with increasing rewards. Don't make it a chore to get exotics, you already paid for the damn game.

There's so much about Destiny that I would just like to be D3... The loot for example. I like the idea of leveling and growing your weapons, but good god, do they ever quickly get bland in Destiny. That and randomly generated Dungeons and I'm relatively certain, despite the abysmal storytelling, I'd still be playing.

I really hope Destiny 2 is a substantial overhaul. (I won't trust them up front this time, but I might be willing to give them a second chance well after release.)

I still do NF and Weekly 3x per week. But that takes about 2 hours and then I'm done with Destiny.
I am happy to be taking a break and I am looking forward to HoW and more new Destiny content.

Here's hoping they pushed back the release date for HoW to record more lines of dialogue for NPCs. I'm tired of hearing the same thing over and over when I interact with the characters in this game. While I doubt the Vanguards will get new lines, they should introduce some new characters to keep things fresh at the tower (or towers, since there's gonna be one on the Reef).

Stopped playing when Bloodborne dropped, but will come back once HoW hits since I already paid for it. Here's hoping they open up the stupid DLC story mode areas for stuff like bounties, because it was dumb to keep them closed off in the first place.

Read yesterday that they're finally adjusting Spongebob's health. It shouldn't have taken that long to figure out that nobody gives TWO shits about no-burn Nightfalls. They're not fun or challenging, just incredibly boring and time consuming. They also adjusted the Psion Flayers in the Dust Palace, but I actually enjoy playing that strike, so it will only get better for me there.

If the amount of content in HoW is similar to TDB, I wouldn't be surprised if they lower the drop rate of the gear again. Need to keep people playing until the first real expansion is ready.

I actually enjoyed playing Destiny for a while when it came out.
I assumed they would patch in decent matchmaking facilities for most modes.
I bought the season pass because I assumed the expansions would have a decent amount of content.
By the time the actual content of The Dark Below became known it became clear to me that Bungie were taking the piss.
It's content starved and they have blatantly ignored many of the inadequacies of the game with a host of slow and uninspired patches and changes.

I'll never go back. Destiny is currently in a pile with my X360 and other stuff I'm gonna trade in or sell.

After the poor start for D3, recent updates and patches have got me right back into it. They have finally got the feel of a loot game back, something Destiny sadly lost early on and never really managed to get back. Too busy trying to be a competitive shooter to sort out the fundamentals of loot games and replayability.

Rifts for Destiny would be a pretty cool idea but Destiny is too serious for its own good. No chance of Bungie actually adding fun stuff.

Left about a month ago.

It is farcical that House of Wolves hasn't released yet.

Even the most hardcore Destiny players have left, or are leaving in droves.

There is literally nothing left to do in the game.

Learned my lesson on Destiny. I won't even consider picking up any future Destiny releases at launch.

I need to know there will still be interesting things for players to do after the first 5 days and the $20 expansions will be worth more than $1.50, and I sure as hell can't trust Bungie to tell me the truth after the web of lies they told regarding this game.

Me and my group of friends stopped playing in February. We are awaiting the next expansion, but good thing this year so far has had some fantastic games. Helldivers and Bloodborne has taken over. Hopefully the next raid is nice and fun to play. I really am awaiting that big update slated for the fall. Really want to see what that does to the game. The need to overhaul some stuff.

Yeah that's what I was saying. I put in hundreds of hours into the game, but even if new content was released tomorrow, I'm not sure I'd go back. I'm kinda over it. The lack of new content for so long lets people just walk away and forget the game. The lack of new content is just silly and a bit insulting, really.
