Digimon World: -Next Order- |OT| Back To The Digital World We Go...

Now that I think about it, I bought this game two days after it came out. Was I still supposed to get the pre-order DLC from Amazon or was it too late for that?

I'm not even sure how much I actually like this game, but regardless I can't stop playing. I think I'm having fun but a lot of times the gameplay just feels like going through the motions.

I was also annoyed at first that I couldn't find any kind of resource for figuring a bunch of stuff out but I'm kinda glad now cause it's been pretty fun to figure it all out on my own. The game definitely got more fun once the city expands and you can start managing the different buildings and stuff.

Though right in my first generation my left mon digivolved into sukamon and then ended up dying, so my life cycles are pretty much opposites right now which is really annoying. I read there's stuff to help with that but I doubt I can access that until later, and I'm right up to the first boss right now (but need to re-raise my Digimon that just died)

why in the world is angewomon's official evolution the pink flying lion instead of the more powerful angel?
I'm really salty about that. For me anthropic megas fit better the evolution concept since they are able to yield weapons and being conveniently smaller in size.

Need to ask this but for those late in the game do your mons stop asking to be praised alot after training? I used to exit the gym and get a prompt every 3 exits at least (train, exit, train, exit, train, exit, praise, repeat) but for the last few generations, it is very very rare and once it using happen all through their life cycle.

Though once they are mega, they seem to want praise after almost every fight lol.

So just a quick question as I still have yet to know after skimming gameplay and posts, but is this open world or is it some quasi dungeon game?

but i'm guessing the dude had it preordered beforehand?
yeah that kinda sucks. how much was the discount? if it was like 10 bucks then i wouldn't blame you for not wanting to cancel it. just wait it out, you got other stuff to keep yourself occupied eventually you'll have it.
Yes, I preordered it (only like on the 20th of Jan)
I got it together with Resi7 for 76pounds shipped, which is to say each are like 38. I can get it at a different place for a similar price, but at this point whatever, I'll wait.

i'm sure you're farther in the game than me, but yea, mine don't ask a much now that they're a few gens in, and even less when they get back to a higher evo stage

Yup. The digimons from previous gen always asks for praises every time I go out after training. Now they might sometime ask for it. I guess having reached evolution requirements early prompt them to ask for less praises. I might try backing out a lot for my next digimons to see if that's true.

Funnily, my current Mega ask for praises less than three times a day now. I suspect its because of Darkdramon's low discipline from eating nuts. The Megas a gen before asked for praises more; they both have high discipline. Discipline matters I guess or it might just be coincidences :p

Glad I'm not the only one then lol.

It's annoying since I end up looking for info on the net or reloading and trying each one via the blocker at the dojo since I can't unlock the requirements without praising lol.

In a situation now where I have a lvl 8 Ultimate and a lvl 1 Baby. It's an awkward situation. Now if that Baby hits Ultimate form then my current Ultimate may die :-/

I still have no access to Devil Chips or Life Span transfer and I am at around 72 prosperity and power level of around Bony Resort.

Have I missed something?

My 4th gen Champions are about as strong as my 3rd gen Megas. Feels good, man.

ExE is such a great mechanic. Getting mostly destroyed by a powerful enemy only to DNA digivolve and fight toe to toe or completely destroy them feels sooooooooo good.

Have you recruited
MarineAngemon?

MarineAngemon will let you transfer Life Span from one digimon to another. She's past MOD Ship 3 where Vikemon was. Be aware the recruitment mission is kind of annoying as you need to keep returning to the same area to find items on the ground.

Yep! I have her recruited and I can't actually find her in the town  Do I need to upgrade the Dojo for her to show up?

Man I have been slow. On Gen5-6 but still just beginning Ch 2. Maybe I should get the 2nd rebirth upgrade. My stats are still below 20k-2k and Veggie Troops and Bony Resort enemies are strong.

Also the guide is bit weird on something, is OmniShoutmon Mega Digimon in this PS4 version? Apparently Aeroveedramon evolves into him. Also does Shoutmon, Gumdramon and Arresdramon have multiple evolutions at all?

Just fought Machinedramon after Guilomon digivolves and got destroyed. Had my first Digimon die shortly after that and my 2nd one die a day later. Currently have a Gaomon and Snowagumon and not looking forward to spending a ton of time training them.

Sorry easy question I think. After you lose a battle what's the best way to recover HP?

HP Recovery floppies, Sleeping, Resting at the Training Hall or putting Tamer points into HP recovery while walking.

I highly recommend the last part. Putting points into HP recovery while walking is something I wish I did earlier because it actually recover quite a lot of HP, more than I expected and I'm not even at the end of that talent tree.

Also, some Digimon have inherent abilities to recover HP for 50 OP. Also try make use of that if you have it.

So I just got WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon via their Agumon and Gabumon lines.

It was far harder to meet the requirements of MetalGreymon and WereGarurumon than it was to meet the requirements for WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon.

Most of the requirements for the ultimates were higher than for the megas apart from weight and bond. Still I got them so i'm happy.

Working for them as well. The stats are so lop-sided that they look like two very different digimons lol. My previous mons all have fairly balanced stats.

Anyone know when is the best time to DNA digivolve them to Omegamon? As early or as late as possible? Because I don't want to evolve them too late just for them to die shortly after nor evolve them too early and have an underpowered Omegamon.

I'd just use ExE rather than DNA digivolve but I've also not used DNA yet.

Also, just fought Sakuyamon. Damn she hurts :(

Oh, alright. I noped out of the dungeon at Devimon lol.

Gonna train my bad boys and hope to tackle it by tomorrow. Good luck finishing the story.

Thanks. I'm taking on all optionals as well that I can. Relying alot on ExE.

EDIT:

Completed the main story, full thoughts on it tomorrow.

However, I will say the final boss is not to be taken lightly.

I had Omegamon via ExE with 77k HP/55k MP and still had to use 10-15+ Large Recovery Disks and the boss's special did about 25k damage to Omegamon.

All of this is on easy of course, no idea what it would be like on Normal.

You know I was worried the game's difficulty would quickly plateau as my Digimon got stronger and stronger as the Generations passed, but it seems there's going to be a challenging road ahead...

So, Generation 1 has come to a close...

My first Left-Digimon was Pitchmon, and I quickly realized you guys were right about the anime Digimon being hard to get as the easiest Rookie to get my first time through was Snowgoblimon. I enjoy using the lesser known Digimon so I don't mind, but I imagine the big anime dudes are the strongest overall.

He seemed destined to evolve into Hyougamon, but surprisingly he evolved into Seadramon which was a nice surprise. I then assume he'd evolve into the recolor Waruseadramon instead of Megaseadramon, but once more I was surprised when he went the latter. I was quickly raising his stats and only needed Speed a bit more to reach like four requirements of Metalseadramon when he unfortunately died, I could tell because he was making noises and right before I got to town he breathed his last digi-breath. The death scene's so sudden!

Revived him as my Gen 2 Pabumon, who went to sleep immediately when he hatched and evolved into Mochimon and then Wormon almost instantly---I'll need to keep that in mind in the future to not let them go to sleep if I'm aiming for a Rookie. The inherited stats are super noticeable, and I wasn't getting any Digivolution info (it seems the fastest way to get that post-Gen 1 is to fight a lot) so I just trained him up to see what I got, and I got Kabuterimon. Sweet! I repeated the same deal and got Red Megakabuterimon, sweet! My second favorite Adventure Digimon! Now I actually have a chance to see his possible evolutions, and it looks like he's meeting the reqs. for Chaos Gallantmon. Hope he reaches Mega!

My Right-Gen 1 Digimon was Zerimon. He ended up as Clearagumon (a recolor of a recolor!) and I thought he was on his way to GoldGuardromon, but then he started making death noises and got sick. I didn't have a medicine at the moment, so I just trained him to get some stat boosts till he died---but he ended up evolving into Numemon. Numemon wasn't too shabby honestly unlike World 1, and I was happy he prolonged his life and it was easy to get him to Monzaemon who was pretty great. He actually made it to Mega too, PlatinumNumemon, which I imagine is on the weaker end of Mega Digimon but I'll take it. He lived a long life.

He was reborn as my Gen 2 Digimon, Botamon. Got him to Ex-Veemon and working on MetalTyranomon hopefully, need to get about 1000+ more HP or so and I'll have met like four requirements.

The strength of Gen 2 over Gen 1 is pretty noticeable already! The flow of this game is pretty different from World 1, it's far easier to start over and I find myself advancing my Digimon faster than the town where it World 1 I found the best strategy was to pick your fights early on and upgrade the town a bit before training. I think World 1 had its obvious strengths due to having a more natural difficulty that was delightfully obtuse at times and challenging, but I think Next Order will win a lot of fans over due to being more accessible and all the QOL features like being able to warp around town and having the bathroom/rest area within the Training Dojo.

In the training hall, on the left. FFS . I don't even collect the stuff
togemon & Kuwagamon
give, so no reason to even go to the left .

Oh my god I'm just after seeing it...
That's so obscure!!! I've used so many porta potties in there!

EDIT: Does anyone know for sure if natural digievolution gives more or the same stats as item digievolution? I ask because the game really pushed the digievolution items.

I waited 30 hours to ask this. Hoped I would figure it out, but I haven't haha.

What's the deal with the cards? I seem to collect them all the time but have no way to view them? Is there a Digimon I should have recruited early on that allows me to restore them or something? Is it someone I recruit late game?

Has anyone been able to open this second map screen that was shown in the manual?

It does nothing.

That's odd. I remember it not doing anything if you open it in floatia, but on the field it should. No idea on that one.

Edit: Maybe there is a difference between opening it with start and viewing the map through the menu? Sorry I'd check but I'm not home currently.
